Laurel Creek RV Park is perfectly situated at 812 Orchard Hill Rd, Damascus, VA 24236, USA, placing it in a highly desirable spot within the charming town of Damascus, Virginia. Damascus is famously known as "Trail Town, USA," due to its unique position at the intersection of the Appalachian Trail, the Virginia Creeper Trail, and several other important regional trails.
For Virginians traveling from various parts of the state, accessibility to Damascus is generally straightforward. If you're coming from the larger metropolitan areas of Virginia, such as Roanoke, Lynchburg, or Charlottesville, the most common route involves taking I-81 South to Exit 19 in Abingdon. From Abingdon, you would then follow US-58 East directly into Damascus. The drive is scenic, taking you through the beautiful landscapes of Southwest Virginia. Once in Damascus, Orchard Hill Road is a local street, and the RV park's signage should be clear upon approach.
One of the most significant advantages of Laurel Creek RV Park's location is its close proximity to key outdoor attractions. As noted by reviewers, the park is "close... to local trails and other nature." This means direct and easy access to the world-renowned Virginia Creeper Trail, a popular rail-to-trail path perfect for biking and walking. Many visitors come to Damascus specifically for this trail, and being able to "rent a bike down town and ride the trail" from such a nearby base is incredibly convenient. The Appalachian Trail also passes directly through Damascus, offering excellent opportunities for day hikes or short sections for serious trekkers.
While tucked away along the creek for a peaceful atmosphere, the park is not far from the amenities of downtown Damascus. Although not explicitly stated as "walking distance" to everything, its location within the town implies relatively easy access to local shops, restaurants, and outfitters, enhancing the convenience for campers. The balance of serene creekside setting and proximity to recreational hubs makes Laurel Creek RV Park an exceptionally well-located choice for RVers exploring Virginia. Its ease of access, combined with the wealth of outdoor activities nearby, makes it a prime destination for both weekend getaways and longer vacations for Virginia residents.

Customer Reviews
This was a great little creekside RV park with full hookups, a good location, a relaxed environment, a nice host, etc. We didn't have any issues pulling our small RV into the lot. It is understandable why the bath house had to be shut down (locals coming and trashing it), but it would have definitely been great to have the bath house as an option for the morning when we had to pack up and leave. One afternoon, it had rained a lot, which made the creek flow really well. While we didn't go tubing ourselves, a lot of families with children really enjoyed tubing down the creek. We loved how close this RV park was to local trails and other nature. Would recommend! :)
This place is a gem. My wife and I love this place. There is no bath or showers there but that's why we have a camper. I myself love fishing your right on the creek and the creeper is a must do you can rent a bike down town and ride the trail.
Great little campground, close to everything in Damascus. Only issue is with the entrance to the campground. FIFTH WHEELS BE WARE! Entrance needs lots of repair and angle into campground changed. Damaged my fiberglass end cap while turning in.
Laural Creek is beautiful. Great location.
Perfect for what we needed! Owner is super friendly and helpful! We came to Damascus to ride the bike trail and wanted to camp a few nights. This campground is super close to the bike rental places (we used Sundog and recommend them) Full hook ups (20, 30, 50 amp breakers) We had 2 set ups, a 40 ft Class A & a 31 ft Travel Trailer Honestly our cell service was better than the wifi, but we we were here to enjoy nature so not a big deal. The sites are right on the creek so the kids could play in the water! You can hear the highway across the creek, but again... we wanted to be close to town, so its no big deal to us.
