From its well-maintained facilities to its friendly atmosphere, this campground strives to make your time in Lakeland pleasant and comfortable. This article will delve into the various aspects of Lazy Dazy Retreat, providing a comprehensive overview to help you decide if it’s the perfect spot for your next Florida adventure.
Lazy Dazy Retreat is conveniently situated at 6211 US-98, Lakeland, FL 33809, USA. This prime location along US-98, a major highway, offers excellent accessibility for RVs and other vehicles, making it easy to arrive and depart. Its position in Lakeland, a significant city in Central Florida, ensures that residents and visitors are never far from essential services and exciting attractions.
A key aspect of its accessibility is its proximity to everyday conveniences. As noted by a resident, the campground is "close to all kind of store and church," and specifically "across the street from McDonalds." This means quick access to groceries, dining options, and other retail needs, often just a short walk or drive away. For instance, various shopping centers with supermarkets and general stores are typically within a 5-10 minute drive along US-98.
Beyond immediate necessities, Lakeland's central location in Florida provides easy reach to major metropolitan areas. Tampa is generally within an hour's drive to the west, offering urban attractions, professional sports, and international airports. Orlando, with its world-famous theme parks, is about an hour's drive to the east. This strategic positioning allows residents to enjoy a peaceful camping experience while still having convenient access to some of Florida's most popular destinations. Local Lakeland attractions, such as the numerous lakes, downtown area, and recreational parks, are also easily accessible, offering a diverse range of activities for all interests. While the location on US-98 ensures convenience, one review notes "Very noisy street noise and teenagers playing loud music on Friday & Saturday nights," which is a consideration for those sensitive to sound.
Lazy Dazy Retreat is committed to providing a comfortable and convenient stay for its campers, offering a range of essential services.
- RV Sites: The primary offering includes sites for recreational vehicles, presumably with standard hookups (electric, water, sewer) for daily use.
- Restrooms and Showers: The campground prioritizes cleanliness in its communal facilities. A resident praised the "housekeeping that cleans the bathroom every night with bleach and others good stuff."
- Laundry Room: A laundry room is available for residents and guests, though one review noted it "needs help," suggesting potential areas for improvement in its condition or functionality.
- Propane Gas Refill: For the convenience of RVers, "They also have propane gas for refill" on-site, eliminating the need to travel elsewhere for this essential service.
- Monthly Rates: The park offers "Monthly price is decent" and "Price very reasonable" options, catering to those looking for extended stays, which is particularly appealing for snowbirds or long-term residents.
- Friendly Caretakers: Reviews highlight the presence of "care takers very nice," indicating responsive and helpful staff who contribute to a positive experience.
- Proximity to Amenities: The strategic location ensures that the park is "close to all kind of store and church," enhancing daily convenience.

- Exceptional Cleanliness of Bathrooms: A major highlight is the dedication to hygiene, with "housekeeping that cleans the bathroom every night with bleach and others good stuff." This commitment to cleanliness is a significant plus for communal facilities.
- Friendly Community and Staff: The park fosters a welcoming atmosphere, where "Everyone is friendly" and "Care takers very nice." This contributes to a positive and supportive living environment, making it easy to feel at home.

- Convenient On-Site Propane Refill: The availability of "propane gas for refill" directly at the campground is a practical convenience, saving campers time and effort.
- Prime Location for Amenities: Being "close to all kind of store and church" and "across the street from McDonalds" means residents have immediate access to dining, shopping, and religious services, enhancing daily convenience.
While there is a mention of "Very noisy street noise and teenagers playing loud music on Friday & Saturday nights" due to its highway location, the overall sentiment points to the interior of the park being quiet and conducive to relaxation. The importance of property upkeep by individual residents is also mentioned, suggesting a community where personal responsibility contributes to the overall aesthetic.
Based on the provided customer reviews, Lazy Dazy Retreat appears to primarily offer consistently "reasonable" and "decent" monthly prices, rather than specific, time-limited promotions. This ongoing affordability can be considered its main "special offer" for campers and long-term residents.
The emphasis on "Monthly price is decent" suggests that the park caters significantly to those seeking extended stays, such as snowbirds or individuals requiring longer-term RV parking. While no explicit discounts for first-time visitors, seniors, or membership programs (like Good Sam Club) are mentioned, it is common for RV parks to offer variations in daily, weekly, and monthly rates, with longer stays typically providing better value per night.
To get the most accurate and up-to-date information on current pricing, availability for specific dates, and any potential offers for extended stays or other situations, it is always recommended to contact Lazy Dazy Retreat directly. Customer Reviews
I love this place. Very good and quiet. They have a housekeeping that cleans the bathroom every night with bleach and others good stuff (I personally don't use them, but we have seen her cleaning the bath). Everyone is friendly and is close to all kind of store and church. Monthly price is descent. They also have propane gas for refill.
Care takers very nice. Laundry room needs help. Most people take good care of their property but some should be a lot better about their up keep. Property sits on hwy 98 across the street from McDonalds. Very noisy street noise and teenagers playing loud music on Friday & Saturday nights. Price very reasonable.
5 star so far, for our friends! Very welcoming!
Great place to live
We were looking for a site for the winter, and were told they do not take reservations in advance, that we would just have to show up and hope there was a site. Of course, we were not going to drive 1000 miles on the offchance that they might have a site for the season. What that tells me is that this is a place for transients, which is not what we would want anyway.
