Mayfield Mobile Home Park About
Hello, Ohio residents! Are you currently exploring housing options in the Akron area and considering alternatives that offer both affordability and a sense of community? Mayfield Mobile Home Park, situated in Akron, Ohio, presents itself as a distinctive living solution for individuals and families. Mobile home parks, often referred to as manufactured home communities, play a vital role in providing accessible housing across the state, and Mayfield Mobile Home Park offers its own unique environment within this landscape.
The decision to choose a mobile home park often stems from a desire for economical housing. Owning a manufactured home typically comes with a lower initial purchase price compared to traditional stick-built homes, and residents then lease the land on which their home is situated. This arrangement can lead to significantly reduced monthly housing costs, including lower property taxes and maintenance fees, making homeownership more attainable for many Ohioans. Mayfield Mobile Home Park aims to balance affordability with a focus on creating a desirable living environment, as highlighted by long-term residents.
Understanding the dynamics of a manufactured home community is crucial. While some parks might focus on extensive amenities, others, like Mayfield, emphasize core living values: a place to call home that is both affordable and part of a community. This article will delve into the specifics of Mayfield Mobile Home Park, drawing from publicly available information to provide a clear, factual, and engaging overview for prospective residents in Ohio.

Mayfield Mobile Home Park, like other manufactured home communities, provides essential services centered around lot rental for residents who own their manufactured homes. While a detailed, exhaustive list of all services directly provided by the park is not publicly available, based on common practices in mobile home parks and the nature of such communities, residents can generally expect:
- Lot Rental: The primary service, which involves leasing a designated plot of land within the park for the placement of a resident's manufactured home. This typically includes connections to basic utilities (such as water, sewer, and electricity), though the cost of these utilities is usually borne by the resident or included in the lot rent.
- Infrastructure Maintenance: The park management is typically responsible for the upkeep of common infrastructure, which includes the internal roads within the community and general maintenance of shared spaces.
- Community Management: An administrative team or management personnel are usually available to oversee park operations, ensure adherence to community rules, and serve as a point of contact for resident inquiries and concerns.
- Waste Collection: Standard trash removal and potentially recycling services are generally arranged for or provided to residents.
It's notable that a long-term resident mentioned the park "quit renting, and only selling units." This implies a shift in operational model where residents now own their homes and rent the land, rather than the park itself renting out manufactured homes. This model is common and generally fosters greater stability within the community, as homeowners often have a vested interest in the upkeep of their property and the overall park environment. For precise details on all services included in the lot rent and any additional fees, prospective residents should directly contact the park management.
Mayfield Mobile Home Park offers several notable features and highlights that contribute to its appeal as a residential option in Akron, Ohio:
- Affordable Living: A key highlight is the park's focus on affordability. A resident review explicitly states that the "lot rent is just high enough to keep riff raff out, and make living affordable in a great neighborhood!" This suggests a deliberate strategy to maintain both accessibility and a quality living environment.
- Improved Community Quality: A significant positive transformation is noted by a long-term resident, who states that "since the company quit renting, and only selling units, the park has turned around for the good!" This shift indicates a move towards fostering a more stable and engaged community of homeowners.
- Established Neighborhood: With residents having lived there for multiple years (e.g., 8 years in one review), the park has an established feel, which often translates to a settled and potentially more peaceful environment.
- Focus on Resident Quality: The comment about lot rent being "just high enough to keep riff raff out" suggests a conscious effort by management to cultivate a desirable resident base, contributing to a better neighborhood atmosphere.
- Proximity to Turkeyfoot Lake and Parks: Located on East Turkeyfoot Lake Road, the park benefits from its close proximity to natural attractions like Turkeyfoot Lake and the broader Portage Lakes area. This offers residents easy access to recreational opportunities, including boating, fishing, and lakeside leisure.
- Convenient Akron Location: Being situated in Akron provides residents with access to the city's extensive amenities, including shopping centers, dining options, healthcare facilities, and employment opportunities, blending natural beauty with urban convenience.
It is important to note the contrasting review that mentions "drug dealers and other shady dealing," "smells," and a lack of "conscience OR a soul." This highlights a potential past issue or a highly subjective current perception. However, the long-term resident's account of the park having "turned around for the good" after a change in policy suggests that management has actively worked to address and improve community standards. Prospective residents are encouraged to visit and assess the current environment firsthand.
Currently, specific public promotions or special offers directly from Mayfield Mobile Home Park are not widely advertised through available information channels. Mobile home parks, particularly those that have transitioned to a sales-only model for units, tend to focus on the long-term value of lot rent and the community environment rather than short-term promotional deals on rentals.
However, potential incentives or special offers can sometimes be available directly through park management or in conjunction with the purchase of a manufactured home from a preferred dealer. These might include:
- Special pricing for new home purchases within the park.
- Limited-time reductions on lot rent for new homeowners.
- Assistance with relocation costs for existing manufactured homes if you are moving into the park.

I've lived here for 8 years. Just a year ago, decided to buy a trailer here. The lot rent is just high enough to keep riff raff out, and make living affordable in a great neighborhood! At one point, the park had a serious problem with the types of ppl that lived here, but since the company quit renting, and only selling units, the park has turned around for the good!
Place sucks is riddle with drug dealers and other shady dealing. It smells, and nobody there has a conscience OR a soul. I said what I said.
