Services Offered

Jason Place Campground, under its new management, is working to revitalize its offerings while maintaining core services that have long drawn visitors. Based on customer reviews, here's what you can expect, with an understanding that some aspects may be undergoing improvements:

  • Campsites: The campground offers various camping options for tents and RVs, accommodating different preferences for outdoor stays.
  • Primitive Cabins: For those seeking a step up from tent camping, primitive cabins are available. It's important to note, as per reviews, that these are indeed "primitive cabins," and expectations should be set accordingly regarding amenities and cleanliness, as they may lack full functionality for cooking or strong sealing against nature.
  • Float Trip Services: A core service and highlight is the provision of "good float" trips, likely including access to the river for floating, kayaking, or rafting. While there was a past issue with transport, the primary function of facilitating river adventures remains central.
  • Friendly Staff and Service: Consistent positive feedback highlights "awesome service" and "friendly staff," indicating a strong commitment to guest relations and a welcoming atmosphere.
  • On-site Management: The presence of an office staff/management (even with past communication issues) indicates a system for check-in and addressing guest needs.
  • Restroom Facilities: Like most campgrounds, basic restroom facilities would be available, though their condition has been a point of concern in some reviews.

Prospective visitors, especially those considering the primitive cabins, should inquire directly about the current state of facilities and confirm all services, particularly float trip transportation and payment methods, prior to arrival, given the recent updates and past feedback.

Features / Highlights

Jason Place Campground boasts a blend of long-standing traditions and promising new developments, with several key features that stand out:

  • New Family Management and Revitalization: A major highlight is that the "kids" have taken over and are doing an "amazing job of bringing it back to life." This signals a fresh energy and dedication to improving the campground, which is excellent news for loyal patrons and new visitors alike.
  • Long-Standing Reputation for Service: Even through periods of being "a little run down," the campground has consistently been praised for its "awesome service and were always friendly!" This enduring commitment to guest satisfaction is a testament to its welcoming atmosphere.
  • Friendly Staff and Management: The "friendly people" and "friendly staff" are consistently mentioned, making for a pleasant and approachable environment for campers. This personal touch significantly enhances the overall experience.
  • Excellent Float Trip Access: The primary draw for many is the "good float" trips, indicating convenient access to the beautiful rivers of the Ozarks for kayaking, canoeing, or rafting. This makes it an ideal base for water-based adventures.
  • Loyal Customer Base: The fact that people have been going to Jason Place Campground for "well over 30 years" highlights its deep roots in the community and its ability to foster long-term loyalty through consistent, friendly service.

However, it is important to address some past concerns that prospective visitors should be aware of, especially regarding certain accommodations and logistical aspects:

  • Primitive Cabin Conditions: While "primitive cabins" are offered, some reviews describe them as "not clean," having "no working doors," and issues with "horrible smell coming from under the cabin." It's suggested that conditions might be very basic, making "camping outside" a more viable option for some. The mention of "mice" and "droppings" indicates a need for significant improvement in these specific units.
  • Past Communication/Refund Issues: Some reviews highlight challenges with payment (e.g., card reader down, cash only) and difficulties in obtaining refunds, with discrepancies between what was stated and what occurred. While the new management is actively addressing these and offering resolutions, prospective guests should confirm all policies and payment methods beforehand.

These points suggest that while the service and location for float trips are strong, those considering cabin stays should manage expectations or inquire directly about current conditions of specific units. The overall trend, however, points towards positive change under the new ownership.

We have been going to Jason's Place Campground for well over 30 years. As it started to get a little run down, we still continued to support them, because they continued to provide awesome service and were always friendly! NOW, they "kids" have taken over and they are doing an amazing job of bringing it back to life. Again with the same great service and friendly staff. I highly recommend giving them a chance!!

People are friendly. Good float. Per office staff,"primitive cabins." Not clean, I understand the mice, but at least attempt to clean up droppings. There are no working doors on the cabin. Unable to store/cook food. Refrigerator disgusting. Horrible smell coming from under the cabin the whole time. Just camp outside..... 08/01/2023. Update after the response to my review, I called Jason's place. First of all, it was a lie. We were never offered a refund of any sort, "primitive camping" was what we were told, that's it no resolution. So when I called manager offered me half my $$$ back. Still no refund, it's been over a month. This is how busines is conducted at this establishment ****Know before you go!! Extremely disappointed.

Definitely do not recommend, highly unorganized and rude. Seems to be some sort of ownership change that has not gone over well. Definitely do not stay in any cabin near this place. They were missing windows, had exposed electrical wiring , closed off the basement , probably due to the mold, mouse droppings in the cabinet drawers, 1 of the 3 window units actually worked. Fridge was good though! In my opinion the best thing is to just close this place. Complete rip off. 1200.00 for staying 2 evenings and floating 2 rafts 2 days. I personally would be embarrassed to be associated with providing people with this experience.

Loved it. Mind you, this is not the perfect campground with perfect bathrooms, but the grounds are really nice and flushing toilets (not jyst a hole in the ground). I can see this being somewhat of a party place on the weekend but we stayed during the week and it was very quiet. The staff was really friendly (the guy who mowed and the guy who was painting). I saw all comments of how this was a dump but it's nice, not perfect but nice. I will definitely be staying here in the future.

We will never go back to jasons place. We rented one cabin, wasn't even completed. Disgusting. The guy was very nice and wanted us to feel comfortable. So we all had to move into ONE cabin with 11 people. Window was busted out. Plastic in the window. Bugs everywhere. Very disgusting smelling. Water was working until we got back from swimming at the river and Devils well. They had to bring a bed over. Then boom the water stopped working completely. The yard looks like a junk yard. No maintenance done whatsoever. When we went up to say the water was off. She was so rude and cussed us out and was told to leave the property. Absolutely will never go back to jasons place.
