RV parks serve a vital role in supporting South Carolina's dynamic population and its visitors. They provide essential services, a sense of community, and a comfortable base from which to explore. Mohawk RV-Columbia, located strategically in the Midlands, offers a unique blend of features that appeal to a diverse clientele. While it might not be a bustling resort with endless activities, it prides itself on providing the fundamental necessities for a comfortable RV experience, emphasizing convenience, quietude, and a clean environment. This focus makes it particularly suitable for those who prioritize practicality and a peaceful setting for their RV adventures or extended stays.
Mohawk RV-Columbia is an RV park located at 11300 Broad River Rd, Irmo, SC 29063, USA. An RV park is a dedicated facility for recreational vehicles, providing individual sites with utility hookups and sometimes shared amenities. Mohawk RV-Columbia appears to cater primarily to "permanent residents, or at least stay for long periods of time," as indicated by customer reviews, suggesting it functions as a stable, long-term living solution for many.
Despite its long-term resident focus, it also welcomes short-term guests, offering sites for overnight stays. Reviews highlight its emphasis on core necessities: "water, electric, & sewer" at each site. The park is described as "very quiet and tucked into some woods," suggesting a peaceful retreat, even with its convenient location. While some traditional campground amenities like a playground or camp store may be absent, its strength lies in providing a comfortable and practical base for RVers. The owners reportedly live on-site, which can contribute to a well-maintained environment, even if direct interaction with staff isn't always frequent.
Mohawk RV-Columbia is conveniently located at 11300 Broad River Rd, Irmo, SC 29063, USA. This location offers an excellent balance of quiet living with immediate access to significant urban amenities and major transportation routes.
As highlighted by reviews, the park is "Convenient to I-26 and Columbia," which is a major advantage for all types of RVers. Interstate 26 is a primary artery connecting Charleston, Columbia, and Asheville, making it easy for transient travelers to access the park. While explicit promotional details are not provided in the customer reviews, it is common for RV parks like Mohawk RV-Columbia, which cater to long-term stays, to offer various incentives. Given the feedback about daily rates being "expensive per night" if not staying for a week, this strongly suggests that the park's pricing structure is more advantageous for longer commitments. Prospective residents or long-term visitors can likely expect:
- Weekly and Monthly Rates: These are almost certainly available and would be significantly more cost-effective than nightly rates, aligning with the park's apparent focus on extended stays.
- Long-Term Lease Benefits: Special pricing or flexible terms for those planning to reside in the park for several months or even years.
- Seasonal Discounts: Possible reduced rates during off-peak seasons, although this is less common for parks with a strong long-term clientele.

For residents of South Carolina, particularly those in the Midlands region who are seeking a practical, peaceful, and well-located RV park, Mohawk RV-Columbia offers a compelling solution. Its suitability for locals, especially those considering extended RV living, stems from several key factors.
Firstly, its primary focus on "permanent residents, or at least stay for long periods of time," means the park is designed for stability and a settled lifestyle. This contrasts with transient campgrounds, offering a sense of community and the opportunity to establish roots. The fact that many homes have been renovated and owners are "always working on the park" suggests a commitment to providing quality long-term housing.

For South Carolinians looking for a stable, quiet, and well-connected RV community to call home, Mohawk RV-Columbia offers a practical and appealing choice.
Customer Reviews
2 stars for location convenience. Other than that, wouldn't recommend. If you don't stay a week, it's expensive per night & not worth the price. Other than having water, electric, & sewer, there was nothing else worth mentioning. No one answers the phone or is in the building to talk to. Seems like most that stay here may be permanent residents, or at least stay for long periods of time. Close to the road, so can hear traffic. Late one night, the owners? (at the house in front) had their diesel truck idling for about 30 min- an hour. Sites are very close together with some of the "fire pits" right next to the other sites sewer. On a positive note, although we didn't use the bathrooms, I did peek in & they looked clean & felt warm. 2 each of women's & men's with private shower & toilet in one room.
Some camp sites are huge, and others are tiny. There is no playground, as child free people this didn't matter to us but Littles could get very bored here. The driveways are all pretty rough, mostly gravel and dirt. There's no camp store or office. There's a building labeled office, but it's really just a whiteboard with wifi info and a park map. There are 2 laundry facilities with a total of 6(?) washers and dryers. The new bath house is very nice. There are 2 bathrooms on each side, and all were fairly clean. The pond area is nice and we saw several birds and large fish. Squirrels are very active, too. Convenient to I 26 and Columbia, while very quiet and tucked into some woods. We had no problems with cell or internet. It's mostly long term in the park, but everyone was friendly. Even though the owners appear to live (in the log home) on site we never saw them, or any staff in our 7 day stay.
Great location. Close to Harbison state forest has great trails. The showers need to be checked after guests. Guests don't clean up after using. So sad. Had very little interaction with owners but he was nice. No place to buy supplies on site. But food lion just minutes away. Very quiet and peaceful. No one man's the office.
My son and I loved fishing and walking around the pond. Bathrooms were clean, and the showers were great! There were multiple laundry rooms with decent prices, the wifi was okay, and the neighbors were friendly! The only thing we would have liked to see was a playground. It looked like there was one at some point!
Beautiful, peaceful site — we stayed for one night on one of the tent sites, and could not have asked for anything else. Plenty of space tucked away behind the pond, lovely views of the surroundings, and no sound from the nearby roads. The hosts were welcoming and open to answering any questions. I was really impressed with the new shower block and the restroom facilities, all were really clean and well presented. Will definitely be visiting again, hopefully for a longer stay!
