Introduction / Overview
Nestled in the scenic Lakes Region of Central Maine, More To Life Family Campground offers a dedicated retreat environment focused on family connection, outdoor fun, and spiritual refreshment. Located in Winthrop, this campground has cultivated a reputation as a warm, community-oriented destination where the simple joys of camping and shared activities take center stage. The atmosphere is designed to help families slow down, enjoy nature, and build lasting memories away from the constant distractions of modern electronics.
The owners and staff, Mark and Lynn, are transparent about their Christian faith and commitment to service, which informs the welcoming and wholesome environment of the park. Guests can expect a full schedule of themed activities, a wide range of on-site amenities, and a variety of lodging options—from spacious RV and tent sites to cozy cabin rentals. More To Life provides an intentional break from the rush of daily life, encouraging laughter, shared experiences, and a chance for reflection amidst the natural beauty of the Maine woods. While the focus is on a family-friendly, values-based experience, the campground aims to provide a pleasant and active stay for all visitors to the Winthrop area.
Location and Accessibility
More To Life Family Campground is conveniently located at 48 Lady Slipper Ln in Winthrop, ME 04364, USA. This central location places it within the heart of Maine’s Lakes Region, known for its beautiful ponds and relaxed pace of life. Its proximity to major roadways makes it an accessible destination for locals across the state looking for an easy drive to their vacation spot.
The campground sits near the shores of Cobbosseecontee Lake and Maranacook Lake, offering easy access to public boat launches for those wanting to explore the larger bodies of water. Furthermore, the property’s position in Central Maine means it is well-placed for day trips, putting Maine’s diverse attractions within reach:
The property maintains a secure, gated entrance for safety, particularly after office hours. While this feature enhances security, visitors—especially seasonal campers—should be aware of the process for after-hours entry, which may involve a security card and a nominal, partially reimbursable deposit. This added layer of security provides peace of mind for families, although guests should plan check-in and check-out around posted office hours to ensure smooth processing. The secluded lane setting ensures a quiet, peaceful camping experience despite the campground’s relative closeness to Winthrop amenities.

Conclusion: Why This Place Is Suitable for Locals
More To Life Family Campground is an excellent choice for local Mainers who prioritize a fun, active, and community-focused family getaway without traveling far. Its Winthrop location is centrally located, making it a convenient escape for families in Southern, Central, and Coastal Maine. The campground is specifically designed to maximize outdoor activity, providing all the amenities—from the sports courts to the private beach—necessary for children to spend their time engaged in play, rather than electronics.
For Maine families seeking an atmosphere rooted in hospitality and wholesome values, the Christian-based focus of the owners ensures a welcoming and friendly community environment. While some aspects, such as the pay-to-use security card and fees for visitors, require consideration, the sheer volume of organized activities, clean facilities, and the deliberate emphasis on family togetherness makes the overall value worthwhile for a purposeful and memory-filled staycation in the beautiful Kennebec Valley region. It’s a place to truly slow down and embrace what the owners call "More To Life."

Thought I booked a cute campground to stay at close to the wedding we were attending. The cabin was cute but that was about it. Bathrooms were in need of an update and not private at all. You were asked to keep showers to 5 minutes. I was rushing and the lights still shut off on me 3 times. I got yelled at by a seasonal camper for not picking up after my dog when all she did was pee (and I did pick up after her about 20 minutes before in the same spot). There’s a gate on the property which is nice but you have to pay to get a security card if you want to enter the property after hours since the gate has an intercom. Don’t worry you get partially reimbursed when you return the card. But good luck returning or checking out because the office was closed and locked at 10:20 when check out is at 11. We also had someone park in our spot at our cabin one night who I can only assume was a staff member because there was no placard in the window and in the morning he just drove off into the depths of the campground. The limited staff we did interact with were kind but I feel like they are over priced for what you get. Plus everything is an up-charge after that.
Aug 31, 2025 · Alyssa HendersonOur family loves going to More To Life Campground every year. It nice to hear the children laughing and having a good time and not on electronics, adults are friendly, welcoming, helpful and always have a smile on their face. There is plenty to do if you are doing the camp activities or with your family. Swimming, fishing, playing soccer, kickball, baseball in the large field, basketball or volleyball on the courts or just enjoy a campfire, reading a book or taking a nap. Our family always wants to stay longer and doesn't want to go home. Thank you Mark and Lynn for giving people a place to slow down enjoy nature and the word of God.
Jun 11, 2025 · Nicole Harlow-BabbinWe have camped here in our Motorhome for a few years. We stay for weekends, during the week or have parked for a month at a time. Owners are very genuine down to earth people that care about people that visit short term or some that have been going there seasonal for up to 20 years. This campground does have a lake with an awesome floating jungle gym, many fun activities for all ages as well as Bible study and church services. If you’re looking for a low key camping experience where you can relax and your kids are safe to roam, make this your choice.
Jun 10, 2025 · Mark BeaulieuIf you are looking for a family friendly place to go, this is it! The sites are a great size with picnic tables. Bath house is verry clean with nice hot showers! Child friendly, with three different swing sets and toys at the beach. We have stayed on the camping sites and in the cabins before and would highly recommend a stay here to anyone!
