Customer Reviews
Beautiful family oriented Campground nestled in rural Tama. Many beautiful trails and pond in a dense timber. Great rates and amenities. Lots of local attractions. Many great memories here; my grandfather Bruce Bolen Sr. Built the campgrounds, A-frame house and when I was a kid I remember riding on the bulldozer when he Built the pond.
We have stayed here before. The showers and bathrooms are clean. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Some of the sites are small and the site we had was not very level. There are activities for the kids. A nice pool. There are a lot of long term residents here. The campground is not very quiet. All in all a nice place to stay in the Tama Toledo area. Rates are reasonable.
Very busy family campground, Labor Day weekend. Our site was gravel, fairly level. Easy to get in and out. Water and electricity but there are sites with full hookups. Laundry was inexpensive, machines were clean, but room was dirty. Only one washer and one dryer. Mostly seasonal campers here, tons of kids, all having a great time. Pool, playground. Not a pretty campground, but adequate. Long dirt road to get in and out.
This review is very bitter sweet. We love this campground for lots of reasons. Our first day we even inquired about pricing for seasonal sites. We thought this place could be GREAT for a seasonal site especially for families for many reasons. There is a lot to do, many activities, nice pool, jumping pillow, nice park, not to mention some of the most friendly camphost we have met! They make it all around a great time! Holiday weekends are non stop entertainment all weekend. The downside that made the entire expierience not as great is exactly that the entertainment last ALL WEEKEND there was no quiet time. Some of our family slept in a tent and ended up in our camper as it was way too loud at even 3am. Which could be heard in the camper as well but not as bad. People are literally up screaming and hollering all hours of the night. Music blaring until well last 1am that could be heard multiple campers away and was no where close to us. Golf carts driving around until after 1am also with people yelling at campers and listening to very loud music. So you hear it in your camper everytime they drive by. You can tell that a lot of people that camp here often let their kids do their own thing as there is loud, cussing, sometimes not being very kind children running around all over with no supervision which can make it unenjoyable for the other children since these kids will take over the pool or jumpy pillow even driving the golf carts their selves with other young kids riding and there is no one there to tell them when what they are doing should stop. Campground it self is great. People working even better. But some of the campers really ruin the experience for others. I have never been to a campground that has no quiet time enforced. But most places campers are always mindful and respectful of other campers regardless. These people seemed to only care about their fun and definitely not children sleeping or adults for that matter at 3am. Wish this could have been different. We were hoping to call this place our campers home!
We were looking for a campground to stay during their off season and didn't even get to stay there because they were closed. But I have to write a review because they still called me a couple of weeks later to let me know that they didn't mean to not return my call but they were still closed for the season. That's just an indication of really good people who went out of their way to let us know how much their campers mean to them. In a world like we are living in today, I cannot tell you nice it was to receive a call like this. Very special people, I can tell. Thank you!
