Customer Reviews
The campground is pretty basic, but the owners go out of their way to make sure your stay is pleasant! The office is cute, and throughout the campground there are flower beds and decorations that make it so charming! The restrooms are clean and well maintained. They also have locked combination doors, so you feel pretty safe. A small playground gave the kids something to do. The owners drove through in the evening to check on everyone. Such a great place to stay!
Across the street from a bar restaurant that has a salad bar & great fish dinners on the weekends. Don't be misled by the primitive signage & 2 track entrance. It's not updated like a state park, but it has a site with sewer & water by the restrooms & laundry (one washer & small dryer. We walked to the beach, which is a 2 track & non developed. When this park makes lake sites (only one tent site) ..and cleans up the water & beach.. this park will be more sought after. Also, if the sites are updated, with new picnic tables, better water pressure, and better advertising. On some sites it says "closed permanently" but it isn't. They are nice people living within sight. Roomy, green, and deer. They need to treat for ants, which really aren't a bother. Old playground equipment. Play at own risk. Clean restrooms with new curtains, and a push lock.
$50.00 for "TENT CAMPING!" A private cozy place to camp or RV for the night. Within walking distance to the beach with nature trails to take photos of wildlife. Electricity to plug in, showers to freshen up and a laundry room available at the front office. Very expensive for tent camping. There are state campsites for half the price with waterfront views not far away.
Nice campground operated by friendly owners. It is well kept up and clean. I appreciated the nightly group campfire that offers the campers to make connections. It is a short walk to the following; a bar/grill with good food, a small grocery store, Lake Michigan, and the Ford River. My only criticism is that It is a little close to a 50 mph highway M35 but it isn't bad.
The owners are awesome people!! It is a very relaxing place to stay.
