Parkway Mobile Home Community About
For many Oklahomans seeking an accessible and potentially more affordable housing option, manufactured home communities, often referred to as mobile home parks, can appear as a viable choice. These communities aim to offer a sense of neighborhood living, sometimes with shared amenities. This article provides an overview of Parkway Mobile Home Community, located in Midwest City, Oklahoma, to help local users understand what this particular community entails, drawing from available public information and, significantly, from direct feedback provided by its residents.
The decision to reside in a mobile home park is a significant one, and it's essential for prospective residents to have a clear and factual understanding of the living environment, management practices, and overall quality of life within a community. Parkway Mobile Home Community has been a subject of various resident experiences, some of which raise serious concerns that should be carefully considered by anyone exploring housing options in the Midwest City area. Our aim here is to present these aspects factually, allowing you to make an informed decision based on the available information.
Parkway Mobile Home Community is situated at 10301 SE 29th St, Midwest City, OK 73130, USA. This location places it within Midwest City, a substantial suburb to the east of Oklahoma City. Midwest City is a well-established area, particularly known for its proximity to Tinker Air Force Base, which is a major economic and employment hub for the region. The community's location off SE 29th Street offers a direct route to various local conveniences.
From an accessibility standpoint, Parkway Mobile Home Community benefits from its strategic position near major transportation arteries. It offers easy access to I-35 and I-240, facilitating commutes to other parts of Oklahoma City and beyond. For local Oklahomans, this means relatively straightforward access to diverse employment opportunities, educational institutions like Rose State College (an 8-minute drive away), and healthcare facilities such as AllianceHealth Midwest (a 9-minute drive). The surrounding area includes numerous shopping centers like Dickson Plaza and Orchard Plaza within a few minutes' drive, providing convenient options for groceries, retail, and dining. While a car is generally needed for most errands, as is common in many suburban Oklahoma communities, the immediate vicinity provides a reasonable level of convenience for daily living.
In manufactured home communities, services primarily revolve around lot rental and basic infrastructure maintenance. Based on general industry practices and limited positive public data for Parkway Mobile Home Community, the following services are typically expected, though it is crucial to note that resident feedback heavily contradicts the quality or responsiveness of some of these:
- Lot Rental: The core service involves renting a plot of land where residents place their manufactured homes. This usually includes access to utility hook-ups for water, sewer, and electricity.
- Utilities (Initial Connection): While residents are responsible for their utility bills, the park provides the necessary connections to municipal water, sewer, and electrical grids. However, as noted in resident reviews, there have been significant and prolonged issues with the reliable provision of water and gas.
- Community Infrastructure Maintenance: The park management is generally responsible for the upkeep of common areas, internal roads, and shared infrastructure. Resident reviews, however, strongly indicate severe deficiencies in this area, with reports of "nothing gets fixed" and issues "they created" not being resolved.
- On-Site Management: Mobile home parks typically have management staff available to address resident concerns, collect rent, and oversee park operations. However, direct feedback from residents describes management as unresponsive to critical issues and unprofessional.
- Waste Management: Presumably, basic trash collection services are facilitated for residents, either through communal bins or curbside pickup, though specific details are not provided and negative reviews don't address this point directly.
Based on the provided information and the overwhelming sentiment from customer reviews, the reported features and highlights of Parkway Mobile Home Community paint a challenging picture for prospective residents. While some external resources might list general amenities for such communities, the lived experiences of residents offer a critical perspective.
- Lot Rental with Utility Access: The fundamental feature is the availability of lots for manufactured homes, offering a housing option. However, residents report consistent and severe issues with the reliability of water and gas services, including "days of no water or power" and "freezing cold showers" due to prolonged outages.
- Community Environment: While a community setting is inherent to a mobile home park, residents describe it as "unsafe." There are serious allegations of "multiple gas leaks that could blow up the whole neighborhood," leading to evacuations and media attention. Additionally, residents report issues with "bugs and mold," and even "dogs were attacked on 3 different times," indicating significant safety and living condition concerns.
- Managerial Conduct: This is a recurring and highly negative highlight in the reviews. Residents report management being unresponsive to critical infrastructure failures ("management won't respond when we have water or gas issues that they created"), unprofessional, lacking courtesy, and engaging in behavior described as a "power trip." There is also a reported lack of a corporate complaint line, leaving residents feeling without recourse.
- Lot Rent Increases: A major concern raised is the frequent and significant increase in lot rent, sometimes multiple times within a year. This practice is reported to be pushing residents, including those on fixed incomes like Social Security, towards having to move due to unaffordability.
- Property Damage and Accountability: Residents claim that park management has "destroyed something on our lot and didn't fix it," and then blamed the resident for the damage.
It is crucial to emphasize that the publicly available reviews highlight significant issues regarding safety, utility reliability, property maintenance, and management responsiveness, which strongly contradict typical positive "highlights" one might associate with a residential community.
Given the extremely negative nature of the provided customer reviews, there is no public information or indication of any ongoing promotions or special offers at Parkway Mobile Home Community. Mobile home parks that face significant resident dissatisfaction and public criticism are less likely to advertise incentives without first addressing core operational and resident safety concerns. Any prospective resident should prioritize a thorough investigation of the reported issues over any potential promotional offers. Direct contact with the management would be necessary to inquire about current lot availability or pricing, but the reviews strongly advise caution.
For direct inquiries regarding Parkway Mobile Home Community, individuals can attempt to contact the management using the following details. However, it is vital to be aware of the widespread reports of unresponsiveness from residents.
- Address: 10301 SE 29th St, Midwest City, OK 73130, USA
- Phone: (405) 737-2025
- Mobile Phone: +1 405-737-2025
Prospective residents are strongly urged to consider the feedback provided in the reviews when attempting to make contact and to document all communications.
For locals in Oklahoma considering mobile home living, the concept often brings the appeal of homeownership at a lower cost and a sense of community. However, based on the direct and unambiguous feedback from residents, Parkway Mobile Home Community, as currently described, presents significant challenges that prospective Oklahoman residents should be acutely aware of.
The provided reviews paint a picture of a community facing severe operational issues, including documented problems with essential utilities like water and gas, which residents state have led to "freezing cold showers" and safety concerns like "multiple gas leaks that could blow up the whole neighborhood." The management's alleged unresponsiveness to these critical issues, combined with reports of unprofessionalism, lack of courtesy, and arbitrary lot rent increases, creates an environment that many residents describe as "unsafe" and "awful." The lack of an effective corporate complaint line further exacerbates resident frustration, leaving them feeling unheard and without recourse.
Therefore, from the perspective of local Oklahomans seeking a stable and comfortable living environment, the information provided strongly suggests that Parkway Mobile Home Community, in its current state as described by its residents, may not be suitable. While its Midwest City location offers proximity to Tinker Air Force Base and various amenities, the fundamental issues of safety, utility reliability, property maintenance, and management conduct appear to overshadow any potential benefits. Locals considering this community are strongly advised to heed the warnings from current and former residents, conduct extensive due diligence beyond simply looking at the location, and seriously weigh the reported risks before making any commitment. The consensus from those who have lived there is a fervent "DO NOT MOVE HERE! YOU WILL REGRET IT." This sentiment from local users is a critical piece of information for anyone evaluating their housing options in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area.
Customer Reviews
DO NOT MOVE HERE! YOU WILL REGRET IT. IF I COULD GIVE -100stars I WOULD. 1. THEY INCREASE YOUR LOT RENT SEVERAL TIMES IN THE YEAR.. TO MAKE MORE MONEY. SOME PEOPLE ARE ON A FIXED INCOME LIKE SOCIAL SECURITY. AND ITS GETTING TO THE POINT WHERE WERE GONNA HAVE TO MOVE BECAUSE THEY KEEP RAISING OUR RATES AND SOCIAL SECURITY ALONE WONT COVER OUR COST OF LIVING, AND WEVE BEEN HERE FOR ALMOST A DECADE. 2. ITS UNSAFE WE’VE HAD MULTIPLE GAS LEAKS THAT COULD BLOW UP THE WHOLE NEIGHBORHOOD AND WE’VE HAD TO EVACUATE TWICE ITS BEEN ON THE NEWS. 3. MANAGEMENT WONT RESPOND WHEN WE HAVE WATER OR GAS ISSUES THAT THEY CREATED. MEANING THEY MESS UP OUR STUFF THEN WONT RESPOND WHEN WE ASK TO HAVE IT FIXED. (THIS IS NOT AN Exaggeration) WE’VE WAITED SEVERAL MONTHS FOR WATER AND GAS ISSUES TO RESOLVED before. TAKING FREEZING COLD SHOWERS There’s no one at the corporate level who cares enough to provide a complaint line so if the manager wants to be a TYRANT WE HAVE TO JUST DEAL WITH IT. 4. THEY DESTROYED SOMETHING on OUR LOT AND DIDNT FIX IT, THEN TOLD ME ITS MY FAULT IT WASNT FIXED EVEN THOUGH THEY DESTROYED IT. 5. UNPROFESSIONAL AND LACK OF COURTESY! 6. MANGER IS ON A POWER TRIP AND MAKES THE LIVING EXPERIENCE HERE AWFUL. IF YOU WANNA LIVE SOMEWHERE that you ABSOLUTELY HATE PULLING IN A PLACE WHERE YOU HOPE TO NOT SEE THE PARK MANAGER THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. I REPEAT DO NOT MOVE HERE!
Problems from the beginning. Bugs and mold. We would have days of no water or power. The pictures are of the mold. Us and our dogs were attacked on 3 different times.
I've stayed here with my grandparents for abt 2-4 weeks and I've been helping them move. the pool is nice. There's a mark where it gets deeper. The manager is nice, and theres a few kids that will come and knock and ask to hang out, I really like it here.
This is a wonderful place to live. Tefawn works in the office and she’s a jewel 💎 So sweet and friendly very very helpful
