As a rustic campground focused on providing an authentic outdoor experience, Peaceful River Campground typically does not advertise frequent promotions or complex special offers in the same way larger, amenity-rich resorts might. Their value proposition lies in the simplicity, natural beauty, and peaceful atmosphere they offer. However, it's always a good idea to inquire directly with the campground about any potential seasonal rates, off-peak discounts, or extended stay incentives that might be available. Sometimes, smaller, family-run establishments like Peaceful River Campground offer personalized deals or flexibility for loyal customers or groups.
Given the nature of the campground, a "special offer" might simply be the opportunity to secure a prime riverside spot during a less busy period, or to enjoy an extended, uninterrupted stay in nature. For the most up-to-date information on any potential savings or specific booking details that could enhance your visit, it is highly recommended to contact Peaceful River Campground directly. Their friendly staff will be best equipped to inform you about any current pricing structures or special arrangements that might be beneficial for your camping trip. While not a "promotion" in the traditional sense, booking during weekdays can often be seen as a special offer in itself, as it provides a significantly quieter and more exclusive experience of the campground's natural charm.

Customer Reviews
Beautiful river. Our space is for day use and was large, even though a little awkward. During weekdays, it is quiet. Very peaceful. Weekends there are atvs and golf carts up and down the road all day. There are campsites with no hookups, right on the water. The bathhouse was old and smelly. The water turns everything a yucky brown. Speaking of water... it stinks and tastes bad. We used bottled water for everything. It dried our skin so badly, we turned white. Trees... big, beautiful trees. We didn't need an awning. There is no garbage dump or sewer hookups. There is a dump station. No picnic table or fire pit at our site, but are available. No pool, no playground, etc. River is the attraction. Pack all of your food and necessities. The road coming in is dirt, narrow, and rough. Communication isn't very good, and made me very nervous. Almost every camper in there are permanent fixtures. Like for.ev.er.
Judy and I just returned from 3 days enjoying the peace and quiet at Peaceful River Campground! Was cold and beautiful by the river and caught some nice Rainbows to boot! Harvested some pics and released them to swim away to make someone else's day! Looking forward to returning in the spring!
Peaceful River is a decent place to car camp. It has clean bathrooms and a shower. The tent sites have their own spot right on the river with a large gravel bar. The river is beautiful. Each tent site has a picnic table and fire ring. There’s no water spigot by the tent sites but I found one up near the road. RV lots share a different part of the campground for summer and weekend stays. No one was around during my midweek visit in late March. I would camp here again.
I went tent camping in March and the grounds were beautiful and peaceful. There are a dozen covered places for RV's...most were filled. There are three large tent sites with firepits. The tent sites are on flat, level ground right on the river. There is no check-in station so call ahead to reserve your site. I talked to John and he was a gracious guy. Tent space was $25/night. Firewood was extra.
A great place to stay if you know what you're getting yourself into. The name of the campground is a good description of what to expect. You'll find a quiet campground on the banks of the pristine Cowpasture River. Perfect for relaxing, fishing, floating, etc... Just be aware that this campground is not modern by any means. In terms of hook ups, expect 30-amp electric, water, and no sewer. They do have a dump station, but no sewer connection at your site. They also have a bathhouse that is very old and run down. To be honest, the shower in the men's room looks like a murder scene. The women's room is more clean. With that being said, we still enjoyed our stay. The people were friendly, campground was quiet, and you could enjoy the river just outside of your camper. Things to do in the area if you visit; the Walton Tract, Hot Springs Bathhouse, the Omni Homestead Resort. We would stay here again, just be prepared to shower in your camper and have a plan to deal with your gray water if you're doing an extended stay.
