Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
For residents of Oklahoma, particularly those in the southern part of the state or individuals considering a move to the Durant area, Pioneer RV Park offers a suitable and practical solution for their RV and living needs. Its suitability for locals stems from several key aspects that align with common priorities in the region.
Firstly, for those seeking affordable and flexible housing options in the Durant area, Pioneer RV Park presents a compelling alternative to traditional rentals. The mention of "reasonable rent for everything that is provided" suggests that it offers a cost-effective solution for individuals or families looking to reduce living expenses or find a temporary home while working or relocating. Mobile home and RV living can significantly lower overheads, and a park like Pioneer provides the necessary infrastructure—full hookups, laundry, and bathroom facilities—to support this lifestyle. For locals needing to be closer to work, as highlighted in a review, this park offers a convenient and accessible base.
Secondly, the park's location along US-70 in Durant is highly advantageous for local residents. Durant is a growing city with a strong local economy, educational institutions, and various amenities. Being able to access shopping centers, restaurants, and essential services with ease is a significant factor for daily living. This combination of a potentially quieter, community-oriented park environment and quick access to urban conveniences strikes a balance that many Oklahomans appreciate. It allows for a more relaxed pace of life without sacrificing the practical benefits of city proximity.
Furthermore, the community aspect and supportive management, as described by a long-term resident, contribute significantly to the park's appeal for locals. In Oklahoma, community ties are often strong, and finding an RV park where management is understanding and willing to lend a "helping hand" fosters a sense of belonging and security. This personal touch can make a substantial difference, particularly for those who are new to the area or facing unexpected circumstances. The atmosphere, described as a "nice little pond" and a generally pleasant environment by some, suggests a place where residents can feel comfortable and settled.
While one review indicates a less positive experience regarding initial check-in and perceptions of the park's appearance, the consistent theme of friendly and accommodating staff from other reviews suggests a strong commitment to resident satisfaction. For locals prioritizing affordability, essential amenities, a convenient location for work or recreation, and a supportive community over luxury aesthetics, Pioneer RV Park can be an excellent and practical choice in Southern Oklahoma. It caters to the fundamental needs of RV living within a accessible urban setting.
Customer Reviews
I moved here to get closer to work and live in the 10.5 counties. Mike and Pam are amazing people and are so very understanding when unexpected things come up and they are always here for a helping hand leveling my camper. I really like the atmosphere here nice little pond too laundry room and two bathrooms and showers. Rent is reasonable for everything that is provided in our rent
Made a reservation 6 weeks in advance. Got there and no one was there to tell us where to park. No info, no one answered the phone. We didn’t feel safe there anyway. It is extremely run down and it appears most of the beat up travel trailers are permanent. It’s rather unnerving. We were able to secure a much better site just a few miles away. Someone finally called us 4 hours later asking why we called. They didn’t seem to care that we found somewhere else to stay. I would definitely avoid this place in the future.
Temporarily living here. The owner is so empathetic and kind. He tends to answer any questions that I have with polite honesty. So far the neighbors are nice I guess? I only just moved into here a day ago. There is a playground in the center of the park but the local kids living here are pretty noisy. I wish they'd be a little less loud since I'm living in a 3 room 12 person tent with my parents and our 5 cats. It's been a very stressful move so I'm low on sleep and patience. Hopefully the kids will be quieter once I work up the courage to ask them politely. I'm just a bit scared that they will be rude.
The owners are very sweet. But also straight and to the point. Basically no drama tolerated to put it simple. This is the grand poo-bah of RV parks. They offer laundry included in rent, which is just amazing. It's quiet but not overly quiet. Kids can still be kids which I think is great. Of course ours are grown but it is nice to see a place where kids are free to be kids. They bend over backwards to help people out and that is a rare quality these days. They have a nice pond I do believe it's catch and release but great relaxing atmosphere. They do have 2 private bathrooms each has a private shower in ea 1. Which is very nice for individuals or families. Especially if you have a plumbing mishap. Only thing lacking is a place to buy ice cause RV freezers dont hold anything. So u have onsite laundry, private bathrooms W/ showers a pond great scenery, oh yes and pet friendly. Dogs must be on leashes. The price of rent is very reasonable with all it includes and caring owners that are down to earth and know how to run a successful business, puts it over the top. I'd give it 10 stars if there were 10 stars. So remember if you are looking for a affordable, friendly RV park that offers that extra touch of real class this this would be the place for you. Thanks Guys and gals for keeping it real!!
It’s a quite cozy place. It’s secluded back behind some house and has a small pond for fishing. Talking with the owners and they are building a wash house for tenants to be able to wash their clothes and take showers. It’s kind of hard to find but since the new sign it’s easy access now. The park offers full hook ups and has 30 and 50 amp options for campers. The water is ran from a well so it not city water. It’s clean fresh water.
