We camped site 33 (electrical, tent). This campground was the best maintained campground I have ever stayed at. The bathrooms especially were so clean! There were hooks and benches in each of the showers. No gross hair or trash or cobwebs in sight. We were there over Memorial Day weekend which I pressume to be one of their busiest weekends and the bathrooms were so clean! There was a great playground for the kids. Our tent site had a beautiful view of the river. Many lovely trails nearby. The sweetest little free library in the shape of a camper. And a new pavilion with picnic tables. Our site had a picnic table of its own and fire ring with a grill and fire poke. The only downside was that the electric hookup was a fair distance away so you do need an extension cord (which we saw in other reviews and were prepared) but there are only 2 outlets between 3 sites. So we did have to ask the neighbors for a turn with the outlet which wasn't ideal but they were very friendly and accomodating. The campground seemed like a family spot and everyone was very respectful of others and of quiet times. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had trouble getting our fire going and they had tips and a fire starter for $1. It was also very convenient to be so near town - although you still feel like you're out in the country. Mabe's pizza was a nice way to get out of camp dishes one night! Some of the sites are very near the highway and I wouldn't want to stay in one of those especially with kids. But our site was far away from the highway and the noise was minimal. We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights so I think we got a decent idea of the place. It was a great experience. Highly recommend.

Great campground! Electric only. Campground is right on the Trout Run Trail. Th trail is 11 miles loop, and go right to do thie hills first, go left 30 min walk to downtown. There is highway noise as it is right off the highway.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Great location, close to town. Kayaking on the upper Iowa River was beautiful. Scott was very accommodating and took us out to the site where we wanted to put in the kayaks he lent us. The campground was spacious with a lot of grassy areas. Close to the highway but was pretty quiet at night.

Love this campground. My brother and I come here every year for a brothers get a way. Great trout fishing stream runs right down the middle of the campground, and the Iowa river runs along the east side. Easy to get to just outside of town.
