Quinta Las Cabanas Grove: More Than Just a Campground—It's a Berks County Event Destination
Introduction / Overview
Quinta Las Cabanas Grove, located in the Reading, PA area, presents itself as a distinctive establishment that successfully merges the functions of a campground and a dedicated event venue. For local Pennsylvanians, this dual identity makes it a unique destination, capable of hosting everything from large community festivals and family gatherings to providing long-term or short-term stays for RV and tent campers. This approach has led to a vibrant atmosphere, often noted for the variety of events and activities hosted on-site, making for "always a good time" according to local attendees.
The facility offers different types of rentals, catering to various needs, including RV sites with electrical hookups (30 and 50 AMP) and dedicated tent camping areas. It also provides seasonal and long-term RV rentals, which appeal to locals looking for extended affordable lodging in the area. However, potential visitors should note the community's evolution. While the surrounding natural features, including an observable water feature, are appreciated, some on-site amenities, such as the designated pool area and shower facilities, have been noted by guests as needing attention or renovation. This means that while the community spirit and event hosting are strong, the traditional expectations of a resort-style campground may be unmet. Visitors are advised to prepare for a more rustic camping experience, especially concerning utilities and general park maintenance, a common expectation for boon-dockers or seasoned campers who prioritize value and accessibility over luxury amenities.
Location and Accessibility
Situated at 91A Bowers Rd, Reading, PA 19605, USA, Quinta Las Cabanas Grove is strategically located to offer both the tranquility of a natural setting and the convenience of modern necessities. The location in Berks County places it close to major local townships and provides excellent regional access, making it highly suitable for locals.
Accessibility is a key advantage for Pennsylvania users. The venue is nested just minutes from the I-78 corridor via Exit 12 (Reading & Cabela's), offering convenient access to both Route 61 and Route 73. This proximity to major highways allows for quick travel from Allentown, Lancaster, Philadelphia, and surrounding communities in the southeastern PA region. This ease of access makes it an ideal spot for short-notice weekend camping trips or for guests attending events who want to easily navigate to and from the location. Crucially, its location is noted for being conveniently near vital amenities like gas stations, grocery stores, and other necessities, providing the best of both the great outdoors and local convenience—a major plus for campers and event organizers alike.

Quinta Las Cabanas Grove provides a mix of camping and event-specific services tailored to its dual role.

Important Water Notice for Campers: Based on resident feedback, it is important for all incoming campers and long-term guests to seek clarification from management regarding the status of the potable water supply. Users should consider bringing their own drinking water for safety, as some residents have reported that the water is not safe for consumption even after boiling.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
Quinta Las Cabanas Grove is best suited for a specific segment of the Pennsylvania local community: those who prioritize event hosting, long-term affordable RV lodging, and convenient access to local amenities over pristine, full-service resort-style camping. It is an excellent choice for local residents planning outdoor parties, reunions, or community gatherings, as the venue space, stage, and catering options are a significant draw.
For RV travelers, particularly those used to "boondocking" or self-contained "van life" who can manage with limited on-site services, the competitive long-term and weekly rates—which include essential hookups and a weekly dump service—offer an inexpensive base camp in Berks County. Its strategic location makes exploring regional attractions, like Cabela's and nearby state parks, exceptionally easy. While the park’s charm lies in its rustic nature and strong community event focus, locals considering a stay should temper their expectations regarding modern conveniences and prioritize checking the potable water safety information upon arrival. It provides an authentic, lively, and budget-conscious outdoor experience that caters well to the local user who appreciates a casual, community-oriented atmosphere.

I love that they host a variety of events for the community. Always a good time! Observable water feature nearby. However, the RV campground needs a serious upgrade to the shower area and non-existent pool if I were living that van life.
Jul 26, 2025 · Marianela DeckmanI hate to have to write a bad review. However, I do not recommend this place. We actually had nice people on the phone, and they seemed very helpful. However, the site left much to be desired. Most of the sites are taken by people who reside there. There's a beautiful dog that is stuck living in the area around the abandoned, extremely dilapidated pool. There was no map of the site, so I have no idea if there was a bath house or any other convenience. They were supposed to come by and pump us out on Saturday, but they did not. My husband managed to find someone on the grounds who said they were about to come around, but he had to cut the grass first, and he said it would take about 30 minutes. Since we were ready to go, we drove around to the dump site ourselves, and over 30 minutes later, the guy was just going to cut the grass. As we were about to leave, a resident started chatting with us and asked how we felt about the water situation. We asked what they were talking about, and they proceeded to tell us that you could not drink the water even if you boiled it. You would think that we would have been told about this when we checked it! There is water nearby, which was nice and pavilions and a stage for events. I think this place is more suited to host festivals and bands than being a campsite. It is located conveniently near many things like gas, groceries, and necessities, but that's the only plus. If you're used to bondocking, this could be an inexpensive place to stay. There was no wifi to be found either - thank goodness for mobile hotspots.
May 25, 2025 · Michelle MoodyAt one time this may have been five star place but today it appears to be a place for people to live in there RV. Pictures indicate that. No picnic tables, no fire rings, no dump station that I could find. Water yes, electric was iffy. Did not see any bathroom facilities. High priced at $55 a night. Would not recommend.
May 22, 2021 · Lee SowersI lived there for a year. The bathrooms are dirty and grimy I went one time and found mens soap in the women's bathroom half of the toilet stalls don't work. The owner then charged everyone and extra $300 because of electric, but there was an electric car plugged in 24/7. BEWARE the guy who runs it is shady. His dog is running around the pool area and there are people on Megan's law that they don't tell you about definitely do your research before you move there especially if you have little kids. He's charging $700 and weekly pumps which vary in time during the week. Just don't go here saying from experience.
