What a gem 😀 from camp we walked the gorge trail, visited Maybry Mill, hiked Buffalo Mountain, stopped at Chateau Mountain Winery, and the Evangelical Presbyterian stone faced church all of which were suggested by our camp registrant and camp host. And the camp itself had music at the campfire. The camp is rustic with flush toilets and water spigots without.
Aug 19, 2024 · Robin CampbellOne of my favorite campgrounds! Great nature, scenic trials, very nice ranger that helped us and gave us great recommendations. You will have enough privacy at nearly every campsite. There was also music. Restrooms were clean and well maintained.
Aug 31, 2024 · Irmi GoBeautiful location and campground. We reserved a spot in the RV loop just a short walk from the restrooms. They were not heated however, and only the men's had an operational light. No big deal, but good to know to bring a flashlight. So much to do around this site, but it was unseasonably cold (30) and very windy. Had to stay inside & run the heater to stay warm! The fresh water hose had been turned off due to cold weather, and we were running a bit low. This is close to our family property in VA, so we plan to return and see more of the surrounding trails and sights!
Oct 21, 2022 · Vernon WalkerWe had site C15 in the tent area, where no generators are allowed. We had a level spot, picnic table & fire pit. There are no electrical sites in that loop. Met some nice campers & workers.
Sep 16, 2023 · Cindy-Rick LarsonWe love this campground. The sites are beautifully wooded and nicely spaced. The camp host and ranger are friendly and helpful and there is live music on Saturday eve performed by talented local musicians. You can also access a hiking trail by simply walking across the Parkway. Minus one star because the bathrooms are seriously lacking. FYI-no showers but that’s not a surprise in a rustic campground. Beware that some sites in the rv section are pretty small. We recommend walking the loop to decide. Floyd, VA is a short drive and a great stop on the Music Heritage Trail. We will definitely go back.
