The whole property is a treat for the outdoor enthusiasts. Filled with many trees and shrubbery to explore. A well made trail takes you around to all the other areas of vegetation. Lots of available edible trail snacks with blackberries on the verge of ripening. This place is on our list to revisit. They also have group camping.
Beautiful campground! We had a site by the creek and the bubbling brook noise was so relaxing. Outhouses were clean. Outdoor showers were immaculate, plenty of hot water. The campstore had a lot of really neat locally made products and everything you might need while camping. The flowers were gorgeous, lots of honey bees and butterflies. The hosts were kind and accommodating. Can’t wait to go back!!
Want to awesome-camp? Crooked Mountain is the place! We had the best weekend tent camping @ creekside5... the site is level and well-maintained, and the babbling brook was great for sleeping sounds. Lots of nice details - hammock, picnic table, fire pit w/cooking grate. The outdoor shower was *extra* awesome - bonus points! Hosts, Brian & Christy, radiate hospitality and offer a wealth of knowledge about the area. BTW, this site is 4mi from downtown Floyd. Thank you for the kindness, B&C. We will be back - looking forward to seeing your flowers in bloom this summer!
Based out of here for a 2-day dual sport motorcycle ride. The campground was perfect for it, close proximity to miles and miles of great offroad trails as well as downtown Floyd. The hosts were very generous, offering parts and help when one of our group had a flat tire. The sites were well maintained, with access to a bathroom, showers, and a creekhouse with a dishwashing station and can be locked for a private changing area. The creekside campsites were well maintained, with good firepits, tables, and hammocks to relax in after a long days ride. The field camping sites would be great for larger groups too. The camp store was stocked with an assortment of camping gear, food and drinks, and clothes too. It was a great experience. Will definitely be back!
We loved this place! We got there late at night, and upon check-in the owners moved us to a site that would be more easily accessible in the dark. We set up camp and got to see so many stars! We loved the loud creek (not all sites are on the creek), but some may be bothered by it. In the morning, we stopped at the shop, which was fully stocked with anything you might need for car camping. The owners provided us with free coffee, a free map, and great recommendations for the area. We greatly enjoyed their beautiful property and hospitality.
