Customer Reviews
Awesome campground. We loved our stay here and the little touches from Audrey as host made it even more special. We appreciated her bringing our kids bubbles and beach toys, the tour of the campground and her help when one of the kids got a bee sting. Very kind person and a wonderful hidden gem of a camping spot.
Very nice campground. Full hookup sites were very easy to get to, and are very well maintained. Cost was reasonable, and the staff communicated very well and were very friendly.
We stayed for 1/2 a season last year and we're coming back for a full season this year. I have nothing bad to say about it. We had a lot of fun! We stayed up on the bluff that over looks a valley and part of the lake. For the most part it was quiet and just perfect for us. We drove our golf cart around the Grove of wild flowers and what not. To me it all beautiful. I can see where it might not be every one's cup of tea. But we thoroughly enjoyed it. My hubby can be a little hard to please but he loved it too. We don't have kids but we did see some kids visit and they seemed to be having fun. The people we met were all super nice. The I owners were putting in some sweat equity into the sewage and what not. They seemed like nice hard working people. The lake was beautiful and we kayaker all over it. We found the permanent campground to be like a charming little village. For the most part I think they were kept up and maybe a couple not so much. But all campgrounds are different. You'll find things you like and things you don't like. This campground is fairly "No frills". They currently don't have a store. You may have to drive into town if you need supplies. No biggie. They also don't sell firewood. Most campgrounds make you buy firewood on-site. So being able to bring your own seems like a bonus in a way. It's all in your prospective. Overall we loved staying there and it really saved "camping" for me anyway. Because if hubby wasn't happy there it might have been the end of our camping days. And we sort of fell in love with the area. We found some unique places and seriously nice people. So try it out and if you don't love it, just be kind. All campgrounds are unique in some way. They're good people. Of that I am certain.
Nice, quiet, laid back area. The people were very friendly and helpful. The manager was always busy working on things and helping people out. I stayed for a few weeks in a tent with my children and have no complaints but have left with friends.
My family has a place here and I enjoy visiting. A few of the camper-houses are really run down, it would be nice if they did something about those negligent owners. Most folks here seem incredibly friendly and there are social events, kayaking/boating, fishing, etc. If it was open longer I'd give it another star- seems like a shorter open season than similar campgrounds I've been to. Seems like at least the people that own property there should be able to access it all year, or at least more of the year.
