This nearby state park greatly enhances the appeal of Rod's RV Camp for those seeking outdoor adventures and natural beauty beyond the campground itself.
While the immediate area around the camp offers a quiet, "nestled area," a "convenience store and gas station nearby" are noted, providing easy access to necessities. Based on the publicly available information and customer reviews, Rod's RV Camp does not explicitly advertise ongoing promotions or special offers in a formalized sense. The camp's primary appeal, as highlighted by numerous patrons, centers on its consistently "very reasonable" and unbeatable pricing for both short and long-term stays. This inherent affordability is a continuous benefit rather than a limited-time promotion.
However, it's common for privately owned and operated RV camps like Rod's to offer flexibility or informal considerations that can be as valuable as a formal discount. As noted by a long-term resident, the owner, Rod, has shown a willingness to allow "rent later than the due date" on occasion and permits dogs without additional charge, which can be seen as significant value-adds.

Direct communication with Rod or Sue is the most effective way to inquire about site availability, specific hookup options, pricing for your desired length of stay (short or long-term), and any other questions you may have about parking your RV at their camp. For Ohio locals, whether you're an avid RVer or someone considering an extended stay in your mobile home, Rod's RV Camp in Kimbolton offers an exceptionally suitable and appealing solution. Its suitability stems from a unique combination of factors that resonate deeply with the needs and preferences of residents across the Buckeye State.
Firstly, the camp's commitment to affordability is paramount. With "very reasonable" and "unbeatable" prices, it provides a financially practical alternative to traditional housing or more expensive RV resorts, allowing Ohioans to manage their budgets effectively without compromising on essential amenities. This makes it a standout option for both short-term travelers and those seeking a longer-term, stable place to reside in their RV.
Beyond cost, the personal touch of owners Rod and Sue is a significant draw. This creates a feeling of safety and security for belongings, which is invaluable for anyone living in or traveling with an RV. The camp's quiet, nestled environment provides a peaceful retreat, perfect for relaxation, while the nearby convenience store and gas station add practical ease to daily life.
Finally, the prime location near the "amazing" Salt Fork State Park is a massive bonus for outdoor enthusiasts, offering endless opportunities for recreation just a stone's throw away. I came across these reviews by accident and very upset to read the last 2 reviews. We had stayed at Rod's RV Camp for the last 10 months. Rod has been a very reasonable and respectful owner to us. Considering the cost of housing rentals, the rent here is very reasonable. There were a few months that Rod allowed us to pay rent later than the due date. He never "demanded" rent from us ever! If anything, we were always trying to get a hold of him to pay the rent each month! He's a hard man to catch at times lol. He allowed us to have our dogs onsite without additional charge. Rod and his wife even laid down extra gravel at our site during the rainy months, which was very much appreciated! We always felt safe there with our belongings and it was a very quiet little nestled area with a convenience store and gas station nearby. We left abruptly this past due to unforeseen circumstances and never really got the chance to thank Rod and his wife for their wonderful treatment towards us for the many months we stayed at their camp. I would highly recommend Rod's RV Camp to anyone needing to place their camper for a short or long term stay. This camp is top shelf on my list....if anyone has any additional questions about our stay, please respond or message me here on Google. Thanks Rod and Sue for everything!!
Oct 06, 2022 · Michelle McCuneIt's a parking lot with full hookups. The price can't be beat. The owner is great, and pleasant conversation. He doesn't live on site. There's road noise but it's fine. We will always come back when in the area. Our stuff feels safe here. The state park is amazing, really nice park with swimming and more.
Oct 16, 2021 · FrankieTold the owner when I expected to move in and he rented the spot even though I gave him an exact date of move in. I would not recommend paying $350 a month plus a deposit for a tiny spot surrounded by other campers anyways! Plus you pay all utilities! Definitely cheaper spots out there and with more friendly people!
May 30, 2022 · Nicole BPaid owner rod rent and he came over drunk asking for rent again. Threatened my husband. He told us to pay him for him getting his septic tanks pumped out. Beggin us for 2000 dollars. He is a weird dude. Be careful around him. I do not recommend staying here!
Jul 19, 2022 · Sabrina BarnettRod is great! His place is peaceful and right off the exit.. we stayed there for 7 months while working in the area and will definitely go back if in that neck of the woods.
