Understanding these differences helps travelers and locals alike choose the best spot for their specific travel style. Sleepy Holler RV Park appears to lean towards the latter, offering a no-frills, functional, and quiet environment that appeals to those prioritizing peace and basic necessities over extensive recreational facilities. Sleepy Holler RV Park is conveniently located at 174 Sleepy Holler, Cordova, AL 35550, USA. Cordova, situated in Walker County, is a charming town that offers a quiet escape from more bustling urban centers while still providing access to necessary amenities. The park's address on "Sleepy Holler" suggests a secluded or tucked-away feel, which aligns with its noted quiet atmosphere.
One customer review describes the roads within the campground as "gravel road and undulating sites." This indicates that while accessible, drivers of RVs and campers should be prepared for unpaved surfaces and potentially uneven terrain when navigating within the park. However, the review also notes that "Power and water worked fine," suggesting that despite the road conditions, essential services are reliable. The strategic location in Cordova provides a practical stopping point for travelers exploring this part of Alabama, especially given that "Any alternative was 20 some miles away," highlighting its unique positioning for those seeking a stop in the immediate vicinity. Its rural setting contributes to the peaceful environment, while still allowing reasonable access to the local town for supplies.
RV parks typically provide essential hookups to ensure a comfortable stay for recreational vehicles. Based on the customer review, which specifically mentions "Power and water worked fine," it can be inferred that Sleepy Holler RV Park offers the fundamental services vital for RVers. While a comprehensive list of all specific services is not extensively detailed publicly, standard offerings in a functional RV park like Sleepy Holler generally include:
- Electrical Hookups: Providing various amperage options (e.g., 30-amp and 50-amp) to power RVs.
- Water Hookups: Offering fresh water connections at each site for potable water.
- Sewer Hookups: Allowing RVs to connect directly for wastewater disposal, although some parks may offer a central dump station instead of individual site connections. Given the mention of "functional," individual sewer hookups are likely, but it's always good to confirm.
- Designated RV Sites: Clearly marked spots for parking RVs, though as noted, these might be "undulating" or uneven.
- Basic access roads: Gravel roads for navigation within the park.
- Quiet environment: While not a service in the traditional sense, the park's quiet nature is a key aspect of its offering to guests.
It is important for visitors to confirm specific hookup types and availability directly with the park management, especially regarding sewer connections, as this can vary.

This is my home church! I teach Sunday School here! My small church family & I love it! Not many people, especially with children, know of this church, so I’d love to get the word out about it! The past 2 years, I’ve taught Sunday School & the church has been doing festivals, celebrations, etc. for the church family, children, & anyone who wants to attend! Come visit us!
Older campground, gravel road and undulating sites. Power and water worked fine. Functional. Quiet. Any alternative was 20 some miles away. We were happy we stayed.
The church is awesome. Pastor Decatur is one of the best pastor I know. He an his wife Shane are truly working for GOD & GOD is truly working through them. Mary Lawson the owner is truly an amazing GOD led n fed woman. I truly can an will say I love her as I loved my own mom.
If I could give this place less than a zero I would. We pulled in late. Since I was visiting relatives I paid for 4 days ($160 cash). We set up in a rainstorm.... Electricity did not work. Oh well we will fix it in the morning. Found out in the morning the electricity did not work at all. The bathrooms did not work and the roads to the upper part of the campground were steep and had washouts in them. No way I would take my 34' motorhome up or down those roads. I asked for my money back and the woman said she did not have a key to the lock box. I was willing to pay for the night but to not refund any of the $160 was unbelievable. She agreed to send half back but did show me NO REFUNDS on the small check in card. DO NOT GO HERE.....
It's not a bad place to live. It's also reasonably priced too. It needs the road redone all the way through. They need to hire a regular maintenance man or men full-time for up keep of place. Campers are nice, but they all need work.
