Storeyland RV Sites About
For Illinois residents considering options for RV living or seeking a manufactured home community, Storeyland RV Sites in Cottage Hills, Illinois, presents a unique situation. Located at 1000 Stanley Rd, this property appears to function both as a park for recreational vehicles and as part of a broader manufactured home community often associated with "Enchanted Village." This dual nature means it caters to both transient RV travelers and individuals seeking long-term residential solutions.
The concept of such a community aims to provide an accessible and potentially more affordable living solution compared to traditional housing. Manufactured homes offer a pathway to homeownership, while RV sites provide flexibility for those who prefer a mobile lifestyle or need a temporary base. For Illinoisans evaluating their housing needs, understanding the specific environment and management practices of a place like Storeyland RV Sites is crucial for making an informed decision.
Public feedback for Storeyland RV Sites, however, presents a more challenging picture. While the intention of providing a living space is clear, recent reviews from residents highlight significant concerns regarding management, maintenance, and the overall living conditions. This article aims to provide a factual overview based on all available public data, including both advertised features and critical customer experiences, to help prospective residents in Illinois navigate their options.
Storeyland RV Sites is located at 1000 Stanley Rd, Cottage Hills, IL 62018, USA. Cottage Hills is a community in Madison County, Illinois, situated within the greater Metro East region. This location offers a balance between a quieter, suburban environment and reasonable accessibility to larger urban centers.
Cottage Hills is positioned a short drive from Alton, Illinois, a city with a rich history along the Mississippi River. This proximity means residents of Storeyland RV Sites can easily access Alton's various amenities, including grocery stores, dining options, retail shops, and healthcare facilities.
For broader accessibility, Cottage Hills is within reasonable driving distance of major interstates such as I-270 and I-255, which connect to the St. Louis metropolitan area. This allows for convenient commuting for work or leisure activities in St. Louis, typically within a 30-45 minute drive. The local road network around Stanley Road provides direct access to the site. For Illinois residents, the location offers a potential base that is somewhat removed from urban congestion but still connected to essential services and regional attractions.
Based on the general offerings of RV parks and manufactured home communities, and cross-referencing with information often associated with properties managed by companies that also oversee places like Enchanted Village (which Storeyland RV Sites is reportedly part of), the following services are typically offered:
- RV Sites with Hookups: The primary service includes spaces for recreational vehicles, often with electric, water, and sewer hookups for convenience.
- Manufactured Home Lots: For long-term residents, the community provides leased lots for manufactured homes.
- On-Site Management: A management team is typically responsible for overseeing the community's operations, enforcing rules, and addressing resident concerns.
- Maintenance: Regular upkeep of common areas, roads, and infrastructure is usually part of a community's responsibilities. (However, recent customer reviews raise significant concerns about the quality and responsiveness of maintenance at Storeyland RV Sites).
- Utilities Infrastructure: The park provides the necessary connections for utilities like electricity, water, and sewer to each site. Residents are usually responsible for setting up and paying for their individual utility services.
- Pet-Friendly Policy: Many manufactured home communities are pet-friendly, with specific rules regarding pet size, breed, and leash requirements.
- Trash Services: Often included or arranged for residents' convenience.
- Community Events: Some communities organize events and holiday parties to foster a sense of community among residents.
- RV Storage: Some parks offer dedicated storage areas for RVs when not in use.
- Playground: A recreational area for children.
It is crucial for prospective residents to be aware that while these services are commonly listed or expected in such communities, customer reviews for Storeyland RV Sites explicitly mention severe dissatisfaction with maintenance responsiveness, especially concerning HVAC and sewer issues, and perceive management as overly focused on fines rather than problem-solving.
When considering Storeyland RV Sites, it's important to weigh both the potential benefits and the significant concerns raised by current and former residents. Based on general community features and explicit feedback, here are the highlighted aspects:
- RV Accommodation: The park provides dedicated sites for RVs, suggesting it's equipped for various sizes and types of recreational vehicles.
- Manufactured Home Lots: Offers spaces for manufactured homes, catering to individuals and families seeking a long-term residential solution.
- Community Setting: As part of a larger community (reportedly Enchanted Village), it aims to offer a neighborhood environment.
- Location Accessibility: Situated in Cottage Hills, it offers access to local amenities and is within a reasonable drive of Alton and the St. Louis metropolitan area.
However, it is critical to present the strong negative feedback from actual customers, as these represent significant drawbacks:
- Terrible Management and Maintenance: Reviews consistently describe management and maintenance as "horrible," with claims that they are "overpriced, and terribly taken care of."
- Unresolved Maintenance Issues: Specific complaints include "problems with the hvac where vents would collapse, and it won't get cold or hot," and "the sewer broke entirely a week into living here."
- Pest Problems: Residents report "terrible" bug issues.
- Excessive Fining: Management is accused of putting "a notice on your door for every little thing," with the perception that "They just want to fine you" rather than genuinely caring.
- High Cost for Poor Service: Residents feel the cost is "way too much" for the level of service and lack of repairs provided. There are claims of being charged for repairs that should be covered by rent.
Given these highly critical reviews, prospective residents should exercise extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence, including a personal visit and direct communication with management about all maintenance and rental terms, before committing to a stay at Storeyland RV Sites.
Based on the provided information and common practices for similar RV parks and manufactured home communities, specific "promotions" or "special offers" for Storeyland RV Sites are not publicly detailed in the same way as, for instance, a retail store. The primary "offer" would be the standard rates for RV site rental or manufactured home lot rent.
However, the overwhelming feedback from existing customers strongly suggests that the cost-to-value proposition at Storeyland RV Sites is a significant concern. Residents explicitly state that the park is "overpriced" and that the management "don't want to fix anything" despite the rent paid. One review directly says, "Cost way too much and they don't want to fix anything! Trying to charge us for something they should be fixing since we do rent here!"
Therefore, while the park may have standard daily, weekly, or monthly rates for RV sites or lot rent for manufactured homes, prospective residents should prioritize understanding exactly what is included in these costs, what responsibilities fall to the tenant versus management for repairs, and what mechanisms are in place to address maintenance issues promptly. There is no public indication of typical promotional incentives like discounted first months' rent or waived fees.
Any "promotion" should be thoroughly scrutinized against the reported issues of high cost versus poor service. It is highly advisable to obtain a detailed written agreement outlining all costs, services, and maintenance responsibilities before committing to any lease or rental agreement.

For Illinois locals considering Storeyland RV Sites, it is paramount to approach this option with a comprehensive understanding of both its intended purpose and the significant concerns raised by current residents. Located in Cottage Hills, the park offers RV sites and manufactured home lots, potentially appealing to those seeking an alternative to traditional housing in the Metro East area. Its proximity to Alton and the St. Louis metropolitan area offers a degree of accessibility to urban amenities.
However, based on the highly critical and consistent feedback from multiple customers, Storeyland RV Sites appears to be associated with considerable challenges. Reviewers highlight "horrible, horrible management and maintenance," expressing extreme dissatisfaction with unresolved issues such as HVAC failures, sewer problems, and pervasive bug infestations. The perception that management is more focused on levying fines than on addressing fundamental living conditions, coupled with complaints about overpricing for the quality of service, are significant red flags.
Therefore, while Storeyland RV Sites theoretically offers RV and manufactured home living in Illinois, the overwhelming negative sentiment regarding its actual operation and condition makes it difficult to recommend without severe caveats. For Illinois locals, transparency and thorough due diligence are essential. Prospective residents must independently verify all claims, inspect any property or site rigorously, and clarify all terms, conditions, and maintenance responsibilities in writing with management before making any commitment. It is crucial to ascertain if the basic living conditions, management responsiveness, and cost-to-value proposition align with your expectations for a safe and comfortable home.
Customer Reviews
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!! They are a part of Enchanted Village and they have horrible, horrible management and maintenance. My 1 year lease is almost up and I cannot wait. They are overpriced, and terribly taken care of. We moved in here and there were problems with the hvac where vents would collapse, and it won't get cold.or hot. The sewer broke entirely a week into living here. And the bugs are terrible. The management will put a notice on your door for every little thing, portraying as if they actually care, but they don't. They just want to fine you.
Cost way too much and they don't want to fix anything! Trying to charge us for something they should be fixing since we do rent here!
