Sundance Farm Campground About

For many Wisconsinites, the call of the outdoors leads to seeking out that perfect camping spot – a place that offers both tranquility and convenience. Sundance Farm Campground, nestled in the scenic rural landscape of Plymouth, Wisconsin, presents an inviting destination for those looking to reconnect with nature and enjoy a peaceful outdoor experience. This campground, formerly known as the KA campground with a history spanning over 50 years, has been revitalized by new owners, Steve and Kelly Mahloch, with a clear vision: to provide a quiet rural retreat for campers.

Sundance Farm Campground is designed to be a sanctuary from the everyday hustle. Its emphasis on a quiet environment is consistently praised by visitors. One delighted camper, initially a "non-camper," enthusiastically stated, "It’s so quiet you don’t even know there are other campers around. It’s just picturesque with the rolling hills and horses. A very short drive to Elkhart Lake and even shorter drive to downtown Plymouth. There are really cute little charming towns all around this area, if that’s your thing. The grounds are very well-maintained and each area has its own fire pit and picnic bench. This non-camper will be back." This sentiment highlights the campground's success in creating a serene atmosphere where privacy and natural beauty are paramount.

The owners, Steve and Kelly, are dedicated to ensuring a positive experience for their guests, with one reviewer noting, "We haven’t even stayed a night and we like it! Steve had great communication! The area is clean, like really clean, and very welcoming. The spots are well spaced out and have a great view." This commitment to cleanliness, excellent communication, and well-maintained grounds contributes significantly to a comfortable and enjoyable stay for all types of campers.

What makes Sundance Farm Campground truly unique is its setting adjacent to an equestrian cross-country course. Campers can enjoy the distinctive sight of riders jumping horses over various obstacles, banks, and through water complexes, adding an unexpected and charming element to their outdoor experience. This blend of traditional camping with a touch of equestrian activity makes Sundance Farm a truly memorable destination for Wisconsin locals seeking something a little different.

Whether you're an experienced RV traveler, a tent camping enthusiast, or someone new to the world of outdoor adventures, Sundance Farm Campground strives to offer a welcoming and well-equipped environment. Its focus on peace, cleanliness, and thoughtful amenities ensures that your time spent connecting with Wisconsin's beautiful countryside is both relaxing and rejuvenating.

Location and Accessibility

Sundance Farm Campground is conveniently located at W6224 Woodland Rd, Plymouth, WI 53073, USA. This address places it perfectly for Wisconsin locals looking for an accessible camping escape in Sheboygan County. The campground is strategically positioned just 2 miles south of the renowned Road America racetrack, at the intersection of County Road C and Woodland Road. This proximity is a significant advantage for racing enthusiasts visiting the area, offering a close and peaceful base.

For those seeking more than just a quiet retreat, the location provides excellent access to a variety of local attractions and charming towns. As one satisfied camper noted, it's a "very short drive to Elkhart Lake and even shorter drive to downtown Plymouth." This means campers can enjoy the tranquility of the farm setting while still having easy access to dining, shopping, and entertainment options.

The campground is also well-situated for exploring broader natural attractions in Wisconsin. Nearby state parks and forests offer additional opportunities for hiking, biking, and connecting with nature. For example, Kettle Moraine State Forest (Northern Unit) is only about 15 miles away, Kohler-Andrae State Park is 16 miles, and Harrington Beach State Park is 22 miles. These offer diverse landscapes and recreational activities, enhancing the appeal of Sundance Farm as a central hub for outdoor adventures in southeast Wisconsin.

The accessibility is further enhanced by its position within a reasonable driving distance from major Wisconsin cities. While providing a rural experience, it's not so remote as to be inconvenient. This makes it an ideal spot for weekend getaways or longer vacations for residents across the state. Promotions or Special Offers

While Sundance Farm Campground does not widely publicize specific, ongoing promotions on general public platforms, it is always a good practice for Wisconsin locals planning a camping trip to directly inquire about any current offers. Campgrounds often provide various types of incentives to their guests, especially during different seasons or for extended stays.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information on any potential promotions or special offers, contacting Steve and Kelly Mahloch, the owners, directly via phone or email is highly recommended. They are known for their great communication and would be the best source for information on:

  • Seasonal discounts, particularly during the shoulder seasons (spring and fall).
  • Special rates for longer stays, which might benefit those planning an extended vacation.
  • Potential discounts for returning campers or loyal customers.
  • Any unadvertised deals that might be available for direct bookings.

It's also a good idea to check their official website, as promotions can sometimes be posted there. Since the campground prioritizes direct communication for reservations (preferring email or text due to not always being available by phone), this method would also be ideal for inquiring about any special pricing or packages. Being proactive in reaching out can often lead to discovering savings or unique opportunities that might not be broadly advertised. Wisconsin campers looking for value should certainly consider this direct approach when planning their visit to Sundance Farm Campground.

What an amazing place. I detest camping, but had to stay here out of necessity. I would happily return. It’s so quiet you don’t even know there are other campers around. This non-camper will be back.

Hi, I can’t rate this place because I didn’t stay here. What I can say is that we tried several times several months ago to place a reservation and we never heard back after one email from the owner. We had dates etc. set aside. We’ve seen this happen with other locations and just decided to move along and book where we know we could get a site without emailing back-and-forth. Not sure what that was all about. Not sure what happened, but that was our experience. We stayed in two other areas, but have not tried again at this location. It sounds like a nice place maybe we don’t qualify? Camping now nearby and have been all summer.

We had a full sun grass site overlooking the horse training course. 50amp, but no sewer hook-ups. Nothing fancy, but our site was level with a very spacious feel because it was open to the field. Clean bathrooms. The owner was great! We enjoyed the horses. A very good value at $35 per night - would highly recommend!
