Terry Point Campground is a recognized site located on the shores of Douglas Lake in the beautiful East Tennessee region, specifically in Dandridge. Known for its picturesque lake access and position within a short drive of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the location itself holds great natural potential for local residents seeking a recreational getaway. The campground caters to RV enthusiasts and campers who desire proximity to one of the region’s largest and most popular lakes for fishing, boating, and watersports.
As locals know, finding the perfect campground often involves weighing scenic location against on-site amenities and management quality. Terry Point Campground is positioned to offer a rustic, lakeside experience. However, prospective visitors should be aware that recent customer feedback has indicated significant concerns regarding the campground's current operational status and the quality of customer service. This report aims to provide a clear, factual overview of the park's location and reported conditions, allowing Tennessee users to make a fully informed decision.
The campground is known to be in an area prized for its natural beauty and proximity to major tourist hubs, making the location a primary asset. However, accounts from multiple visitors have raised serious questions about the maintenance of facilities and adherence to basic safety and health standards. It is strongly advised that anyone considering a visit—especially those planning an extended stay—contact the management directly to inquire about the current status of all amenities, utilities, and site conditions before making any financial commitment.

Conclusion: Why This Place Is Suitable for Locals (With Necessary Caution)
For Tennessee locals, the area surrounding Terry Point Campground remains one of the state's most desirable destinations for outdoor recreation due to its premier Douglas Lake frontage. The primary suitability of this location is the incredible access it provides to the water, allowing boaters and fishermen to easily launch and enjoy the lake. Its easy-to-reach position near I-40 and the major tourist corridors of the Smokies makes it a geographically excellent choice for a basecamp.
However, suitability hinges entirely on the individual camper's tolerance for a highly rustic experience. Local users seeking a standard, reliably managed, or amenity-rich camping experience should heed the consistent warnings found in public reviews. The strong, fact-based reports of alleged code violations, poor facility maintenance, non-functional utilities (including power issues and poor water quality), and unsatisfactory customer service suggest a highly challenging camping environment. **Local residents are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution and fully verify the current conditions and functionality of all services with management prior to booking or arrival.** This place is currently only suitable for the most self-sufficient and risk-tolerant campers whose sole priority is the lake access, and who are willing to completely disregard any reliance on the campground's infrastructure.

This is a very poor place. It makes me sick that the pool there is full of nasty water and is a highly popular breeding ground for mosquitoes. The campsite is poorly managed. And the people that manage this site lack the ability to behave and treat their customers with kindness. It sickens me to think that somebody could own something like this Charge their customers and not provide service to them. Not to mention when I was there I noticed multiple code violations safety concerns electrical hazards. So if you are to visit this great place on Douglas lake Be fair warrant there are hazards at Terrie point Campground. If this campground was left up to me I would have it shut down for the multiple code violations poor management and absolutely Rude behavior of the management staff.
May 27, 2019 · Heather CookThe picture with the spilt fries or what ever it is decribes this place to a T. This is what the whole campground looks like. Its covered with trash, junk cars, boats, old buses and buildings everywhere for u to view. Not counting the 3rd camper on the left as u come n looks like a trash dump all around it, especially behind it. There neighbors put up a privacy fence just to block it from there view. Power won't stay on water stinks and looks like lake water. A swimming pool that harbors the infestation of mosquitos. Because it hasn't worked n years and they won't fixed it. None of the things they have is the truth no playground, bathrooms nasty no tp or soaps or paper towels and no restraunts. Restraunt was closed down by health dpt. Electrical wires run on top of the ground unstead of being buried. Power will not stay on. And once the lake goes down u have no water. U do not WANT to waste your money here. Believe me I know by experience. It is now run by hilltbilly drunks n pot heads.
