The Holly Campground About

Michigan, with its abundant natural beauty, diverse landscapes, and incredible recreational opportunities, is a premier destination for camping enthusiasts. For many locals, heading to a campground is more than just a vacation; it's a cherished tradition, a chance to disconnect from daily routines and reconnect with nature and loved ones. From the serene shores of the Great Lakes to the peaceful solitude of deep forests, Michigan offers a spectrum of camping experiences to suit every preference, whether you're bringing an RV, pitching a tent, or opting for a cozy cabin. These dedicated outdoor havens provide more than just a place to sleep under the stars; they offer a base for exploration, adventure, and creating lasting memories. Today, we're going to explore a particularly lively and amenity-rich option: The Holly Campground, a popular choice for Michigan families and individuals seeking an engaging outdoor escape.

A campground serves as a vibrant hub for outdoor recreation and community. It provides designated sites for various types of camping, often equipped with essential amenities like electric hookups, water access, and clean restroom facilities. What truly sets a great campground apart, however, are the additional features and the atmosphere it cultivates. Beyond just a place to park or pitch, many modern campgrounds offer an array of activities and services designed to entertain, relax, and foster social connections among campers. This can include everything from swimming pools and playgrounds to unique recreational facilities and on-site stores. For Michiganders, choosing the right campground means finding a place that aligns with their desired level of comfort, activity, and proximity to natural attractions or local points of interest. It's about finding that perfect balance between rustic charm and convenient amenities, all within the beautiful backdrop of their home state.

The Holly Campground, located in the charming town of Holly, Michigan, exemplifies a campground that prioritizes a fun-filled and engaging experience, particularly for families. While it embraces the natural setting that makes Michigan camping so appealing, it also goes above and beyond to provide a wide variety of amenities and activities. From its inviting playgrounds and unique features like a bounce pillow and skate park, to its attentive staff who make every guest feel valued, The Holly Campground strives to deliver a memorable outdoor adventure. It’s a place where there's "so much to do... for all ages," making it a standout choice for those looking for an active and entertaining camping trip.

Location and Accessibility

The Holly Campground is conveniently situated at 7072 Grange Hall Rd, Holly, MI 48442, USA. This prime location places it directly in the heart of Holly, a picturesque village nestled in northern Oakland County. Holly is renowned for its historic downtown, Victorian architecture, and vibrant community events, including the popular Dickens Old Fashioned Christmas Festival. The campground's address offers the perfect blend of being immersed in nature while still providing easy access to local amenities and major transportation routes.

For Michigan residents, the accessibility of The Holly Campground is a significant advantage. It is strategically positioned with excellent connections to major highways. Being in Holly means it's relatively close to US-23, a key north-south corridor, and not far from I-75 and I-96, which crisscross the Lower Peninsula. This makes The Holly Campground an ideal destination for campers coming from various parts of the state, including the greater Detroit metropolitan area, Flint, Lansing, and beyond. Reduced travel time means more time to enjoy the camping experience and less time on the road, making it perfect for weekend getaways or longer family vacations.

Beyond the campground itself, the surrounding area offers a wealth of activities and conveniences. The village of Holly provides easy access to grocery stores, gas stations, and local eateries for any last-minute needs or a night out. Furthermore, the broader region is rich with recreational opportunities. Within a short drive, campers can explore the expansive Holly Recreation Area, which offers additional hiking, fishing, and boating options. Other nearby attractions might include local lakes, golf courses, and various entertainment venues. This blend of natural beauty, village charm, and convenient access to essential services and regional attractions solidifies The Holly Campground's appeal as a top choice for Michigan locals seeking a comprehensive outdoor experience.

We had a great time! Staff was friendly, bath house was nice and clean with hot water, playgrounds were great. The grounds could use some maintenance. Lots of amenities for kids but most needed some up keep. We tent camped so I can’t comment on condition of the cabins. Felt a little pricey at $50/night for a tent site with electric only, for a family of 3 with 2 dogs. Overall we loved that there were trees on the sites, the playground, bounce pillow, and camp store!

We had such a fantastic time at Holly Campground, thanks to our wonderful hosts, Demi and Lacy! They went above and beyond to make our stay memorable — from a super fun round of putt-putt golf to delivering delicious ice cream, pizza, and wings right to us. It really made us feel taken care of and added an extra special touch to the trip. There’s so much to do at the campground for all ages! The skate park and blob were huge hits, and the kids absolutely loved the playground and pedal carts. The pool looked incredible — though it was a bit too cold during our visit, we could tell it’d be perfect on a warmer day. Overall, Demi and Lacy made the experience unforgettable. Their hospitality and all the fun activities made this trip amazing, and we can’t wait to come back! -Travas & Leah

Great place. Staff was incredibly sweet and handled everything we needed. Our site was perfectly placed and peaceful. Lots of wildlife from chipmunks and squirrels to Sand Cranes and geese. Very nice bathroom/shower house. Everything is cozy and nothing is more than a couple minute walk.

It cost us over 100.00 per night, site was terrible, and the water was rusty, and left rust all over the side of our brand new motorhome from dripping hook up, than they told me on the phone that if my son and daughter in law came for the day it would cost me 10.00 more per person. But when they came I was charged 15.00 per person. Host stated that it just went up that day.. lol we have traveled since 2003 and never had a campground so bad. We have stayed at beautiful resorts in arizona that didn’t cost as much. Will not camp here again..

Great location. We had a lot of fun and the play areas for kids were awesome. The reason I give ONE star, is because we paid a LOT of money for a cabin with a shower and toilet. The entire time we were there, the hot water didn’t work in the cabin we were in. Our friends in the cabin next door had the same issue. When we complained, there was no manager on site, and they refused any compensation. We got an email today apologizing for our inconvenience, and offered a discount code for 15% off our next stay, that expires next week. 🤣 I’d say there is lots of potential for this to be a great place to stay, with better management, customer service, and fixing their facilities. This was our first experience there, and I have great confidence that we will not return.
