Thousand Trails St. Clair is situated at 1299 Wadhams Rd, St Clair, MI 48079, USA. This location places it within convenient reach for many residents in Southeast Michigan and beyond. St. Clair is a picturesque city known for its beautiful waterfront and historic charm, nestled along the St. Clair River, which flows between Lake Huron and Lake St. Clair.
The campground's accessibility is a significant advantage. It is noted to be "close enough to Detroit and Port Huron," making it an appealing option for urban dwellers seeking a quick escape without extensive travel. The proximity to major interstates and state routes means that reaching the campground is relatively straightforward. While some interstate noise was mentioned in a review, this is often an expected trade-off for such convenient accessibility to larger metropolitan areas and major roadways.

Bathrooms were gross, with a “no pooping in shower” sign in the bathhouse. Worse than a gas station bathroom. We didn’t have sewer and stayed 8 days, so we had to use it. Golf was good. Pool looked good, but wasn’t open yet. Basketball was okay. Volleyball looked okay. We had people smoking pot next to us, so joy! Our site was okay, overgrown grass coming through the rock. This could be really nice, but it’s not. We likely won’t stay again here, unless out of necessity. No issues with staff, they were nice. Gated, which is great…except we weren’t given a pin and had to call 4 numbers before someone answered to give us the pin. That was terrible. Close enough to Detroit and Port Huron, so location was fine. Interstate noise, but we expected that. Overall it just needs attention and elbow grease.
May 20, 2025 · steven parrettVisited some friends at this campground. Pretty nice set up. The have spots for annuals and also open spots. Their rates are pretty reasonable.
May 29, 2025 · Lee CookBeautiful park that feels more like a tight knit community that you automatically become a part of just by showing up. People are extremely friendly and have fun activities every weekend! This place is AMAZING for kids, but it just a great for adults. Can’t say enough about this park. Only bad parts were: the sewage treatment pond does give off a pretty pungent odor and some of the RV spot are a little tight. It is big rig friendly, my only advice is take it slow if you not experienced, like myself.
Sep 28, 2024 · Korydon AlexanderClean restrooms and showers. Beautiful pool. Staff was friendly. Pull-through sites are super close together. They are "buddy sites" where every two campers have their front door facing each other. This is confusing to dogs who assume the whole area belongs to them. My husband was bit by neighbor's dog. The staff handled it well and professionally. The water tastes terrible here. We bought bottled water the whole time. We found things to do, but all in all, this was one of our least favorite campgrounds we've stayed in all year.
Jul 25, 2024 · Becky PhillipsThis is one of the better Thousand Trails we have been too. A lot to do here and location allows you to hit some great historical spots. We showed up in time for the Labor Day weekend but even then as crowded as it was the spacing between campers hidden away in the woods makes it seem less so. I love these types of camp grounds where it looks like a Camp Ground, feels like a campground. Only gripe is the Firewood they sell at $8 a pop is worthless. It doesn't burn as it is all quite wet and not properly cured. Other than that?? We will be back. We love this place.
