In the heart of this captivating region, Tru Lodging RV Park in Hackberry emerges as a compelling option, particularly for those looking to immerse themselves in the outdoor wonders of the area, like the renowned Creole Nature Trail.
RV parks, or recreational vehicle parks, serve as essential hubs for travelers and long-term residents alike. They provide the necessary infrastructure – hookups for power, water, and sewer – along with a range of amenities designed to enhance comfort and convenience. What truly sets an RV park apart, especially in a region famous for its natural attractions, is its ability to serve as a practical base while offering a peaceful and well-maintained environment. It's about providing a reliable, clean, and welcoming space where RVers can relax after a day of exploration or settle in for an extended stay.
Tru Lodging RV Park has quickly established itself as a noteworthy destination in Hackberry, Louisiana. Reviews highlight its status as a "brand new clean and peaceful park," emphasizing its well-maintained "parking area" and a "very clean" and well-equipped "11-unit laundry" facility. Its prime "location" is repeatedly praised, being the "perfect home base for our exploration of the Creole Nature Trail" and ideal for those interested in "crabbing, fishing, and shrimping." The "internet, tv antenna reception, and Verizon cell signal were all strong," which is a crucial advantage for modern travelers. The owner is described as "gracious and personable," contributing significantly to a positive experience. While there have been some isolated concerns regarding the cleanliness of the single communal bathroom/shower facility, the overall consensus points to a well-regarded park with significant strengths in its sites, amenities, connectivity, and management, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a tranquil and well-located base in Southwest Louisiana.

This location places it in the heart of Hackberry, a small but strategically important community in Southwest Louisiana, renowned for its direct access to the rich natural offerings of the region. Hackberry is an unincorporated community in Cameron Parish, deeply embedded in Louisiana's coastal wetlands and bayou country.
The park's address on Main Street provides direct and easy access within the town. More importantly, Hackberry itself serves as a direct gateway to the famous Creole Nature Trail All-American Road, a national scenic byway that is a major draw for nature lovers, bird watchers, and anglers. This means residents of Tru Lodging RV Park are perfectly positioned to explore this incredible natural wonder, which offers fantastic opportunities for wildlife viewing, crabbing, fishing, and shrimping, as highlighted by a satisfied reviewer.
For broader accessibility, Hackberry is located off Louisiana Highway 27. This state highway connects Hackberry northward to Lake Charles, a larger city with more extensive services, shopping, and dining options. Customer Reviews
The parking area is in great shape and is well maintained and also has a pay for ice machine on the property. The laundry facility has plenty of machines and is very clean. The bathroom/shower was another story hence the two star rating. The bathroom was filthy. It looks as though it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. I’m glad I had some cleaning supplies with me because I had to clean the bugs and slime out of the sink to be able to use it. I wasn’t going to touch the toilet it was so filthy. I texted management and he said the cleaner had something come up and missed cleaning it the last couple of days. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks based on the garbage on the floor and the 100’s of spiders, webs and dead bugs from ceiling to floor. The shower curtain and rug looked like they hadn’t been washed in months of use. It was so sad to see this because the rest of the park and manager were great. He did bring a cleaner in but they only did a light cleaning. The rug, shower curtain were not cleaned and the spiders, webs and dead bugs were still everywhere!
Great location! This brand new clean and peaceful park was the perfect home base for our exploration of the Creole Nature Trail, a national scenic byway. There is also crabbing, fishing, and shrimping. The 11-unit laundry is very clean. There is only one shower, but it is clean as well. The internet, tv antenna reception, and Verizon cell signal were all strong. The owner is gracious and personable. There are plans for a picnic pavilion with grills and more showers soon. I'm hoping shade trees around the perimeter as well. There is a constant hum from a pump of some kind at the out edge of the property that is just white noise. The bells from a nearby church during the day were very nice as were the sunsets.
1st class operation. Clean and well maintained. Conveniently located.
