It's important for prospective campers to understand the unique characteristics of Turner Falls Campground. It offers a variety of camping experiences, from traditional primitive tent sites to more equipped RV spots and comfortable cabins. Reviews from fellow Oklahomans highlight the serene atmosphere during off-peak times, describing it as "quiet, not packed" in months like April, and praising the "clean, peaceful environment." The opportunity to witness local wildlife, including deer and even fawns, underscores the deep connection to nature that defines a stay here. While some areas, particularly the primitive tent sites on Level 3, may offer a more rugged experience, the overall consensus points to a beautiful and engaging outdoor adventure, making it a truly special place right here in Oklahoma.
Turner Falls Campground is centrally located within the famous Turner Falls Park at Davis, OK 73030, USA. This prime location places it in the heart of the Arbuckle Mountains, providing visitors with immediate access to the park's renowned natural attractions, including the majestic 77-foot waterfall, natural swimming areas, and intricate cave systems. For Oklahomans, its position off I-35 makes it a highly accessible destination for a quick weekend trip or a longer family vacation from various parts of the state.
To reach Turner Falls Campground, travelers typically take Exit 51 from I-35 in Davis. From there, well-marked signs guide you directly to Turner Falls Park. The park is segmented into various "levels" or areas, and the campground is spread across different sections. Upon arrival at the park entrance, visitors will pay a daily admission fee (in addition to camping fees for overnight stays) and receive a map. The campground offers different types of sites across these levels, with some primitive camping often found on higher levels (such as Level 3) and RV sites and cabins generally located in more accessible areas with better facilities. While the park is large and spread out, internal roads and walking paths connect the various attractions and camping areas. It's advisable to download a park map or consult with park staff upon arrival to navigate effectively and find your chosen camping spot or accommodations.
As Turner Falls Park and its campground operate under the authority of the City of Davis, specific promotions or special offers may vary seasonally and are primarily tied to daily admission fees and accommodation types. Unlike some commercial campgrounds, ongoing "deals" are less common, but value is often found in the comprehensive amenities and natural attractions included with park entry.
Overnight camping rates are typically charged per vehicle, plus daily admission for all guests. It's crucial to note that park admission is a separate fee that must be purchased for every day you occupy the park before 4:00 PM, in addition to your camping or accommodation fee. However, some specific accommodations like cabins, covered wagons, bunkhouses, and teepees may include a reduced (e.g., half-price) admission as part of their nightly rate. Pricing also fluctuates between winter (October 1 - April 30) and summer (May 1 - September 30) seasons, with summer rates generally higher.
For the most accurate and up-to-date pricing, availability, and to make reservations for RV sites, cabins, or other unique accommodations, it is highly recommended to visit the official Turner Falls Park website. Primitive camping is often first-come, first-served, so arriving early, especially during peak seasons like summer and holidays, is advisable. While explicit "promotions" beyond these pricing structures are rare, the sheer beauty and range of activities available within the park constitute significant value for visitors. Always check the official website or contact the park directly for the latest information before planning your visit.

For $50 a night at least put a bathhouse on level 3 for campers, we paid too! Primitive camping is first come first served, and some have fire rings and picnic table. Trash in trash out. Unmarked trails too so be careful at level 3. For $50 I'd prefer a state park or their cabins. Price too high. Only stayed 1 night. April best time to come. Quiet, not packed! Bring wood for fire 馃敟
Apr 13, 2025 路 Am SThe best day ever! Clean, peaceful environment. Kind and respectful employees. Even fellow campers were respectful and kind. New cabins, restrooms, and renovations taking place. We camped old school with a tent on the third level, which does need more attention. Loved being next to nature. Got to watch the deer and loved seeing the twin fawns. Love the new cabins on level 2.
Jul 27, 2023 路 Melissa McInnisWe love coming to this park. It is always fun camping and getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday city life. While we were here for a few days the kids say fish, geese, raccoons and deer. There was a light rainstorm one night but no big deal. The office staff and police that patrol the area are all very nice as well!
Mar 18, 2021 路 Paul KepnerIf you want it old age style, just get the primitive camping spot and it's fun馃槏. Just take some canned food and clothes. Spend the night under milkyway galaxy. Look out for it after 11oclock. Also the sunrise near the windmill is amazing.
Jul 09, 2018 路 Harikailash GopalakrishnanVery crowded. No fishing. The campgrounds are not very nice tables are rotting.
