Cross Bar Ranch: Main Camp About
For Oklahomans with a passion for off-road adventure and outdoor living, Cross Bar Ranch: Main Camp in Davis is a must-visit destination. This isn't just a campground; it's the heart of the largest off-road park in Oklahoma, sprawling across an impressive 6,500 acres within the picturesque Arbuckle Mountains. Whether you're an "experienced or novice" rider, Cross Bar Ranch offers a diverse landscape with "different levels of difficulty," ensuring everyone can "have fun here." It's a place where you can spend "hours and not see the same thing twice," navigating "long, winding trails everywhere."
Beyond the thrill of the ride, Main Camp provides comprehensive camping facilities, including RV pads with electric and water hookups, as well as extensive primitive and tent camping options. Visitors consistently praise the "great park" and "great staff at the front" for their cleanliness and helpfulness. For those willing to venture from as far as Mico, TX, and have the park "to ourselves for 3 days" on a weekday, the experience is described as "so much fun!" While it's advisable to have your "machine tight" and consider "all terrain or rock tires" for some sections, Cross Bar Ranch truly offers a dynamic outdoor playground where the fun never ends, even if you get "turned around" – because that's "all part of the fun too!"
Cross Bar Ranch: Main Camp is strategically located at 4560 Dolese Rd, Davis, OK 73030, USA. This address places it squarely within the scenic and rugged terrain of the Arbuckle Mountains, a natural wonderland in south-central Oklahoma. Davis, a small town on the outskirts of this vast natural area, serves as a convenient base for visitors, offering essential services and supplies.
Accessibility to Cross Bar Ranch is generally straightforward, particularly from major transportation arteries like Interstate 35, which passes near Davis. From the interstate, well-maintained state and county roads lead directly to the park's main entrance on Dolese Road. This makes it a manageable drive for visitors from Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and even from north Texas. While the park encompasses 6,500 acres of diverse terrain, the "Main Camp" area is designed for easy access for RVs and trailers. Reviewers specifically mention "electric and water at RV pads," indicating developed access. However, given the nature of an off-road park, it's always wise to be prepared for varied internal road conditions, and using a reliable GPS can help navigate the expansive network of trails. The blend of remote, adventurous landscapes with convenient access to town amenities makes Cross Bar Ranch: Main Camp an ideal and accessible destination for locals seeking an exciting outdoor escape.
- RV Hookup Sites: Main Camp offers 28 improved RV sites. These sites come equipped with water, 30/50 amp electrical hookups, a concrete slab for parking, a picnic table, and a charcoal grill. Some RV spots also include fire pits. Note: A long water hose is recommended by past visitors.
- Primitive and Tent Camping: Unlimited primitive and tent camping is allowed anywhere in the park, including out on the trails, provided it doesn't impose on other campers. Generators are permitted in primitive areas (but not next to RV hookup sites).
- Bunk Houses: A "Primitive Bunk House" comfortably sleeps five, offering a more sheltered camping option. "Ranch House sites" are also available, and premium sites are offered for larger groups or those seeking more amenities.
- Restrooms: Vault toilets are located in the Main Camp, Well Camp, and Primitive Camp areas. (The park website indicates plans for showers to be installed.)
- Dump Station: A convenient dump station is available for RVers.
- On-site Store/Office: Visitors can check-in and purchase snacks, drinks, and other essentials at the on-site store/office. There's also a cash drop box for after-hours payments.
- Designated Fire Rings: Campfires are permitted in designated fire rings. Guests are also authorized to build their own fires if desired, presumably with proper safety precautions.
- Pet-Friendly: Pets are welcome at the campground, with owners responsible for their animals.
- Expansive Off-Roading Paradise: The defining feature of Cross Bar Ranch is its immense 6,500 acres with over 150 miles of trails. This offers unparalleled off-roading for ATVs, UTVs, dirt bikes, Jeeps, and full-size vehicles, with diverse terrain ranging from "rocky hills, muddy valleys," "steep inclines," "deep ravines," "streams and waterfalls," and "rock climbing" sections.
- Trails for All Skill Levels: Whether you're a "novice" or "experienced," there are "different levels of difficulty," ensuring that every rider can find trails suited to their comfort and challenge level. Many trails are "nice and flat," with "most mud holes easily avoidable" and "lots of bypasses."
- Vast Exploration Opportunities: With "long, winding trails everywhere," visitors can "stay out for hours and not see the same thing twice." The sheer size of the park allows for endless discovery, even if some trails aren't on the maps, adding to the adventurous spirit.
- Clean and Open Park: Reviews consistently praise the park for being "clean and open," contributing to a pleasant experience.
- Supportive Staff: The "great staff at the front" are noted for their helpfulness and positive demeanor, enhancing the overall visitor experience.
- Scenic Arbuckle Mountains Setting: The park is nestled within the beautiful Arbuckle Mountain range, providing stunning natural backdrops and opportunities for wildlife viewing, even when you're not on the trails.

Customer Reviews
Great park, lots to see and explore. Different levels of difficulty. Experienced or Novice, you can have fun here. Little rough if you don't have your machine tight. Especially if you come with mud tires. Definitely recommend all terrain or rock tires. Not a whole lot of deep mud, just a few good holes. Long, winding trails everywhere. Can stay out for hours and not see the same thing twice. Electric and water at RV pads, but bring a long water hose.
So much fun! We drove all the way from Mico, TX. We checked in on a Sunday and had the whole park to ourselves for 3 days! So many trails of all levels. Most are nice and flat and most mud holes are easily avoidable if you want. Lots of bypasses but mostly don't need them. Some of the trails up front are only for rock crawlers or full size vehicles but most all the others are good for ATVs or quads. Lots of trails aren't on the maps so use satellite view on your phone if you can. Its easy to get turned around. But that's all part of the fun too! Great staff at the front and the park is clean and open! Can't wait to come back!
We got stuck 2 times and we couldn't make it through Hells Gate. We did go down some gnarly trails. I Highly recommend a winch or a come-a-long in your off road vehicle. The mud is 2-3ft deep is some areas.
Favorite place to ride! Easy trails up to some extreme rock climbs. There’s even a section of the nasty muddy stuff over in the SW of the park. Always a great time! Ride all night, because that’s when you see more of the “wild”life! 😁
We had reservations for a RV space , but canceled due to a lot of previous rain . To get in park you drive Across a small River , it was 18” deep that weekend, roads are rock and vary bumpy, RV areas would be very dusty. I saw no bathrooms: shower facilities. Port a lets had no hand cleaning facilities.
