Wandering Lakes RV Park About

For Oklahomans exploring RV park options in the scenic Davis area, Wandering Lakes RV Park on Shepard Lane presents a community that offers a place for long-term or short-term stays. When evaluating any potential RV park, it's essential to consider all available feedback to gain a comprehensive understanding of what to expect. This article aims to provide a factual overview of Wandering Lakes RV Park, detailing its location and accessibility, known services, and features based on public reviews, to help local users make informed decisions about their RV living choices in the heart of Oklahoma.

The provided customer review for Wandering Lakes RV Park offers a mixed perspective, highlighting both the presence of amenities and some significant concerns regarding their upkeep and management responsiveness. On the positive side, the park does offer a "laundry/shower building" with washing and drying machines, which are essential conveniences for many RVers. This amenity provides a practical solution for daily needs, particularly for those on extended stays.

However, the review details several issues that prospective residents should be aware of. Concerns include a broken washer that has been out of service for an extended period (three months), and a period where the "running lights went out" in the laundry building for several weeks, requiring another tenant to purchase and replace the bulbs. Furthermore, the review notes that while Wi-Fi is available, its functionality is limited, "only works for about half of the RV park." Regarding grounds maintenance, the reviewer states that "the 'landlords don't mow much," with other tenants reportedly mowing the place multiple times in a month. Finally, there's direct negative feedback about the landlady, who is described as "rude" and someone who "treats and looks at you like trash... in my opinion."

These points of feedback suggest potential challenges in the areas of amenity maintenance, utility reliability (specifically Wi-Fi coverage), groundskeeping, and management-resident relations. For Oklahomans considering a long-term stay, these factors can significantly impact the quality of life and overall satisfaction within an RV park. While the park offers a basic set of amenities, the consistency and quality of these services, as well as the management's responsiveness to issues, appear to be areas of concern according to this review.

Therefore, for Oklahomans researching RV parks in the Davis area, it is crucial to consider this detailed feedback. As with any housing decision, conducting thorough personal due diligence is highly recommended. This includes visiting the park in person to assess the current condition of amenities, the grounds, and the overall atmosphere. Speaking with current residents, if possible, can provide a more immediate and comprehensive understanding of the living experience. Engaging directly with management to discuss maintenance schedules, amenity functionality, and tenant support can also help clarify expectations and address any potential concerns before committing to a stay at Wandering Lakes RV Park.

Location and Accessibility

Wandering Lakes RV Park is located at 822 Shepard Ln, Davis, OK 73030, USA. Davis is a charming small town nestled in the heart of Oklahoma's scenic Washita River Valley, known for its natural beauty and proximity to the Arbuckle Mountains. This location offers residents and visitors a peaceful, rural setting with access to various outdoor recreational opportunities.

Shepard Lane, being a local road, suggests that the RV park is situated in a quieter area of Davis, away from the immediate hustle and bustle of main thoroughfares. This contributes to the tranquil environment that many RVers seek for relaxation and an escape from urban noise. Despite its serene setting, Davis offers basic local amenities, including grocery stores, local restaurants, and essential services, ensuring that residents have convenient access to daily necessities.

Accessibility to Davis itself is excellent, as the town is located directly on Interstate 35 (I-35), a major north-south interstate highway that traverses Oklahoma. This makes Wandering Lakes RV Park particularly accessible for RV travelers moving through the state, whether heading north towards Oklahoma City and Tulsa or south towards Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. The direct I-35 access provides ease of travel for both short-term stops and longer stays.

The surrounding area is a significant highlight for outdoor enthusiasts. Davis is a gateway to the Arbuckle Mountains, which boast attractions like Turner Falls Park, Oklahoma's largest waterfall, and the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. These natural wonders offer abundant opportunities for hiking, swimming, fishing, and exploring unique geological formations. Lake of the Arbuckles, a popular destination for boating and fishing, is also nearby. This rich natural environment makes Wandering Lakes RV Park an attractive base camp for Oklahomans eager to explore the diverse landscapes and recreational activities of south-central Oklahoma.

The combination of a quiet, rural setting within Davis and the excellent regional accessibility via I-35, coupled with proximity to major natural attractions, positions Wandering Lakes RV Park as a convenient yet peaceful option for RV living in Oklahoma.

  • Wi-Fi: Internet connectivity is available at the park, though its coverage may be limited to "about half of the RV park."

Features / Highlights

Based on the provided review, the "features" and "highlights" of Wandering Lakes RV Park are presented with critical context:

  • Laundry and Shower Facilities: Offers a communal building for laundry and showering, which is a key amenity for RVers, especially those on longer stays.
  • Wi-Fi Availability: Provides internet access, a crucial modern convenience, though with noted limitations on coverage.
  • Scenic Location: Situated in Davis, Oklahoma, in the Washita River Valley near the Arbuckle Mountains, offering natural beauty and outdoor recreation opportunities.
  • Accessibility: Located near I-35, providing easy travel access for RVers.

However, it is vital to acknowledge the significant concerns raised by a resident, which contradict the positive portrayal of these features:

  • Broken Laundry Equipment: One washer was reportedly broken for three months.
  • Inadequate Lighting Maintenance: Running lights in the laundry/shower building were out for weeks, requiring a tenant to replace bulbs.
  • Limited Wi-Fi Coverage: Wi-Fi only functions for "about half of the RV park."
  • Inconsistent Groundskeeping: "Landlords don't mow much," with tenants reportedly taking on mowing duties.

Promotions or Special Offers

Based on the provided information, there are no publicly advertised "promotions or special offers" for Wandering Lakes RV Park. The customer review focuses on operational aspects and resident experiences rather than any promotional incentives. RV parks typically offer various rates based on the length of stay (daily, weekly, monthly), with longer-term stays often providing a more cost-effective option. These structured rates are common industry practice and serve as a form of value proposition for extended visits.

Given the specific concerns raised in the review regarding maintenance, Wi-Fi functionality, and management interaction, any prospective resident would likely prioritize addressing these issues and confirming the actual conditions of the park before seeking promotional offers. The primary "offer" from such a park would typically be its basic RV site services at a competitive price, which should be verified directly.

we have lived here for about 7 months. they have a laundry/shower building with two washers and 2 dryers. one washer has been broken for about 3 months . the running lights went out in there once for a few weeks and it took another tenant to buy and replace the bulbs. they have WiFi but it only works for about half of the RV park. so far this month (MAY) other tenants have mowed the place.3 times.. the "landlords don't mow much. and the landLADY is rude who treats and looks at you like trash ...in my opinion.
