Introduction / Overview
Turtle Run Campground & RV presents itself as a distinctive, family-focused camping destination nestled in the heart of the beautiful New Jersey Pinelands. Located in Egg Harbor City, the campground is built on the promise of providing a fun, engaging, and nature-immersed experience for residents throughout the Garden State, running its season annually from April 15th through October 31st. For many local families, Turtle Run serves as a convenient and action-packed spot for a weekend getaway or a seasonal retreat, offering a balance of nature, unique amenities, and organized recreational activities every weekend.
The core identity of Turtle Run revolves around its energetic, family-friendly atmosphere. Visitors often commend the "friendly staff" and "awesome crew" who work to foster a warm and welcoming community environment. The campground caters to a variety of lodging preferences, accommodating those with RVs, traditional tent campers, and guests opting for a comfortable cabin rental. It provides a unique setting that encourages families to disconnect from the routine of daily life and reconnect with one another through shared outdoor fun and activities. While some guests acknowledge that the deep-woods location comes with the natural challenge of seasonal insects and limited connectivity, many others highlight the value of its communal, activity-driven weekends, noting the friendliness of both the owners and other campers.
As a seasoned RV park in the area, Turtle Run features over 100 sites, demonstrating its capacity to host numerous families looking to enjoy the unique blend of Pinelands nature and proximity to the Jersey Shore’s coastal attractions.
Location and Accessibility
The Turtle Run Campground & RV is strategically situated at 3 Cedar Ln, Egg Harbor City, NJ 08215, USA, placing it deep within the peaceful New Jersey Pinelands. This location is paramount to its appeal, offering a genuine 'escape to nature' for local users, especially those seeking shade and a wooded atmosphere.
Despite the secluded, 'deep in the woods' feeling, Turtle Run’s Egg Harbor City address is surprisingly convenient for accessing the major entertainment and coastal hubs of Southern New Jersey. The campground is notably just a short drive—approximately 25 to 30 minutes—from the dynamic nightlife, casinos, and dining of Atlantic City. Furthermore, it offers excellent proximity to the pristine beaches of Long Beach Island (LBI), making it an optimal base for a dual-purpose vacation of woods and shore. For history and nature buffs, the campground is near attractions such as the historic Batsto Village and the vast Wharton State Forest, offering ample opportunities for hiking and exploring the unique Pinelands National Reserve.
The blend of peaceful, wooded tranquility and quick access to major New Jersey vacation spots—all within easy reach of the Garden State Parkway—makes Turtle Run a highly accessible and practical destination for New Jersey residents across the state looking to maximize their outdoor leisure time.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
Turtle Run Campground & RV is an excellent fit for New Jersey residents, particularly those with children, who are seeking an activity-rich and woodsy family escape without the need for extensive travel. Its setting in the Pinelands offers the desired quiet and shade of a true nature retreat, yet its convenient distance from Atlantic City and LBI means the excitement of the Jersey Shore is always a short drive away. This convenient balance is highly valuable to local users who want a genuine break from city life but still desire weekend entertainment options.
The park’s main draw is its emphasis on scheduled, weekend-long activities and its unique features, like the turtle-shaped pool, which effectively keep children engaged and create memorable family moments. While the deeper-woods location naturally brings challenges like seasonal insects and limited technology services—which some campers find frustrating—many local visitors see this lack of connectivity as a positive feature, encouraging families to put down their devices and engage with the outdoors and the campground's community. For the New Jersey family looking for a friendly, activity-packed, and conveniently located campground that fully embraces the spirit of a traditional, wooded camping experience, Turtle Run Campground & RV offers a compelling and fun-filled option.

Not a hotel. This is a campground. You can rent a cabin or bring a tent. Most people there have an RV. The owners are the best. Activities every weekend
Aug 06, 2025 · Ceil Kelly"friendly staff".."awesome crew" ... yes they are very friendly and great people! HOWEVER.... do not waste your money here.... unfortunately this place is not as great as it's hyped up to be..... I've spent quite a few nights here... all different... tent, a cabin, and an RV... IT IS NOT worth spending the money to stay here... you could stay at a nice hotel instead of here... these people rip you off and over charge in EVERYTHING... This camp ground is ran by men.. so we can all figure out what this means... the campers and sites are dirty... I stayed in a cabin and RV.. they all smelled like mold and mildew.... floors were disgusting... beds were dirty... bathrooms dirty... no service anywhere. Don't get me started on the tent sites... This property is infested with green heads and huge flies that bite and torture you every second you're outside.... They are kinda deep in the woods so the bugs are TERRIBLE ... me and my son were getting stunk all night....The place to eat is only open on the weekends and closed the rest of the week...Their outdoor bathrooms DON"T have warm water, it's freezing... floors are disgusting in there as well... They really should be ashamed over charging the way they do... you could stay in a nice hotel and have a clean place for all you pay there.... This is not to "bash" the place or any of the workers... but personally it just was not worth the "hype".. me and my son were miserable and hated it... couldn't sit outside and he couldn't use any of his devices because of there being no wifi..... please save your money and go somewhere that's nice and where you're at peace of mind!!! somebody send sos
Apr 29, 2024 · Tiffany BrownCool little camping spot. Stayed a week and it was great except a few little things. They served food on the weekends, wish that was an all week thing though lol. Good place good people, my only complaint would be the bathrooms!!! They were not up to par with the rest of the campground. They were small no ventilation and they were not working half the time. The whole campground was basically using 1 or 2 toilets and they just couldn't keep up ...
Aug 02, 2024 · Chili CrawfordWe stayed in one of the cabins for a quick night away with the kids. The employees were super friendly. Get the impression that the seasonal campers have a lot of activities together, but everyone is invited. The facilities were nice. Bathrooms were clean and well lit. Grounds were nice. Arcade was great as well. We drove around the campground to catch a glimpse of the tent sites, and they were nice. Spacious, and didn't seem to be too crowded together. We will definitely be back.
Sep 26, 2019 · Tom Stewart IIIThe staff is so friendly & accommodating. Family friendly with great pool & playground. Bathrooms clean. They have great pizza and fun activities. We stayed over Memorial Day weekend and they had 50/50 drawings & turtle races (using dice) and a horseshoe tournament. We had our motorcycle with us & rode each day in surrounding areas. Everyone is very friendly
