Promotions or Special Offers

As a public recreation area managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Laurel River Lake Picnic Area typically operates under a standard fee structure rather than offering commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the traditional sense. Fees for day use, if any, are usually set federally and are consistent across similar sites. Many picnic areas operated by the Corps of Engineers are either free or require a small day-use fee, which helps cover maintenance costs.

However, visitors who frequently use federal recreation lands might benefit from interagency passes that offer cost savings. These include:

  • America the Beautiful - The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass: This annual pass covers entrance fees at national parks and national wildlife refuges and standard amenity fees (day use fees) at national forests and grasslands. If the picnic area has a day-use fee, this pass would likely cover it.
  • Senior Pass: A lifetime pass available to U.S. citizens or permanent residents aged 62 or over. It covers entrance fees and offers a 50% discount on expanded amenity fees, which might include picnic area fees if applicable.
  • Access Pass: A free lifetime pass for U.S. citizens or permanent residents with permanent disabilities. It also covers entrance fees and provides a 50% discount on expanded amenity fees.

As always the lake is lovely. but I will say this the spot where you can go to grill out.where there's a playground for little kids the grills there are in need of work. The spot where you lay your charcoal is completely been worn out and falling out in spots makes for a dangerous hazard if kids and adults walking by don't pay attention. Also it's hard to cook when there's very little left of the bottom of the grill. 09/18/22
