If you are just looking for a transient place to stay while travelling - as opposed to renting a site for the season -- I cannot advise you strongly enough to avoid this place. The overall condition of the facility is in dilapidated condition, and the management of the business does not run a tight ship- they have posted 'rules' that they do not enforce. The campground is filled with folks driving their golfcarts with alcoholic beverages in plain sight. On the weekend I visited, they had a swimming pool that was not ready for use, with filthy water and no chlorine, and had no signage or guard posted indicating the pool was not ready -- people were swimming in clearly unsafe water. My family was placed on a site where someone was storing a personal vehicle, and when I had to ask him myself to move it, that individual spent the next several hours idling his vehicle and taking business phone calls on his vehicle's stereo system with the volume cranked, making it nearly impossible to cook, eat or relax. When I finally approach the office to move me to another site, they moved me to another site... where someone was storing a another pickup truck and a boat. When I went back to ask for assistance .. THEY BLAMED ME and flatly refused to refund my money. I ended up having to drive home nearly 300 miles after dark though the Allegheny mountains to get home and end my vacation early. These folks are not nice, they are not honest, and they have no idea how to treat a paying customer. I've seen what happens when someone posts a negative review, and I fully expect them to personally attack me and claim I'm some kind of whack job. I've been camping with my wife and family for more than 40 years and these guys get into my personal 'Hall of Shame' as one of the three worst camping experiences I've ever had.
Aug 13, 2025 · Greg ShamiehFamily weekend together. We rented a cabin and had access to the Yurts. The cabin was nice, clean, and had AC. Microwave, full refrigerator and freezer, sink, and coffee maker. Towels, pots, pans, and dishes. The yurts were nicer than we expected, and they cooled off nicely at night but man were they hot during the day. My parents keep their RV there for the summers and it's always nice visiting them. Was a good time
Jul 10, 2025 · Amanda SmithMy husband and I stayed for the first time and really enjoyed the atmosphere. We stayed in a park model and it was great except it stated there was a tv which was not there but the cable was. Only reason a TV would have been nice is because it rained so much~ I used my phone instead to relax and listen to the rain on the porch roof. Overall it was a very good experience and we would like to come again. For families there is so much to do and I love all the activities. I would recommend.
Jun 16, 2025 · Nicki WoodWe have stayed at this campground multiple times over the past 10 years! This trip experience was our best one yet! I can’t say enough about the kindness of the staff and permanent residents. We are from out of state and several seasonal campers offer to take our trash for us on a nightly basis while walking to the dumpster. These individuals had golf carts and could see we had young children on strollers we were walking along with. The security we got on a first name basis with as they made their rounds and stopped to chat with us briefly to get to know our group of campers. The activities for the 4th of July holiday weekend were a blast! We especially enjoyed the water wars with our kids. We enjoyed the use of both pools on site with the super hot temperatures! We are actually looking to possibly search out a seasonal site here next year as we have had such great experiences on our travels to this campground.
Jul 08, 2025 · Cory HornerThis is not a favorite at all. Great location with the state park being right there. As far as the campground, the one office lady was harsh. We have never been there before and when we pulled in we saw golf carts. So when I went to check in I asked if they rent them. I got “they are all booked!” No, I asked if you rent them as I didn’t see it in the website anywhere, not if you had any available. The other lady stepped in and answered my question more politely. They do not give you any sort of activity list or map or anything really that other campgrounds usually have at checkin. Had to find out for ourselves. This is the place you go if you love crowds, rowdiness, large groups, etc. seemed like most people are repeat guests and go with larger groups. We had another family travel with us and had they not, I think this would be the place no one would have associated with us. It’s not a welcoming atmosphere as it seems more cliques are present. It’s mainly seasonal, all they do is ride around on golf carts. The roads are narrow. I had a golf cart run me off the road in my truck as they refused to move out of the middle of the road. There are lots of planned activities (one DJ played some very vulgar rap songs) and the bingo area doesn’t have enough seating so we left and didn’t get to play. This one was a disappointment.
