Customer Reviews
We called Walnut Hill Campground at the last minute when the fairgrounds ran out of electrical sites for the event we were attending. The folks at Walnut Hill couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. They were also flexible when our plans changed. The campground itself is beautiful. It is spread out over a very park like setting. Campers do not feel on top of each other. It has a nice pool, a lovely lake, and a beautiful stream that meanders through the campgrounds. It also has a playground for the kids, and a large dog park for our four legged friends. We would not hesitate to go back. Maybe the only downside is many of the sites do not have sewer hookups. It would have made it inconvenient if our stay had been longer, but as it was, we were able to use their dump station on the way out. Highly recommend!
We very much enjoyed our stay at Walnut Hills. The park is very large, we stayed at the full hookup sites up on the hill. This was a great spot, the access road to the hill was a great place to walk our dogs. n May there were no campers at the tent sites along this road, so it was a quiet place to walk the dogs. The park also has a nice large dog park, and a nice stream that the dogs could splash around in. The staff was friendly, and the park was impeccably clean, it was obvious that the owners took pride in the place. It was also a convenient place to stay if you want to explore Shenandoah National Park or the Northern Blue Ridge Parkway.
The campground is well run, in a great location and is quiet. Sites are level and utilities worked well. Verizon had at least 2 bars. Tori and Julie were wonderful and worked with our flexible plans. The only negative would be the bath house has a sour smell. The showers were very clean which was much appreciated. We will be back!
We have stayed here at least four times. It is one of my favorite campgrounds. We like the sites up on the hill. We had a propane gas grill on our site, concrete patio and outdoor lightning. The grills may be a new thing because I don’t remember seeing them before. Sites are nicely spaced. The pool is beautiful. If you like to walk this is a great place to do so, lots of hills and valleys. Very quiet. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Lots & lots of restaurants in the area & retail stores galore.
Even though our site had to be changed due to some renovations, we were given a great site. Staff super friendly, sites well maintained, nice golf carts for rent, showers and bathrooms clean, camp store well stocked. I have been camping at walnut hills a long time. Always a pleasure to come back again and again. The only thing, the lake could use some cleaning up, but I know it flooded last year so will give it some time. Great weekend!
