The park's location is a key aspect of its appeal and accessibility. As one reviewer noted, it's "Quite the jaunt to get to, pretty far from attractions." This remoteness is precisely what makes it "perfect for the person liking quiet, no phone sort of trip." While specific "promotions or special offers" are not typically advertised for individual state park campgrounds in the traditional commercial sense, the value lies in the affordable access to well-maintained natural resources and extensive recreational opportunities.
Standard state park entry fees (daily or annual passes) are required for vehicles entering the park, which contribute to the upkeep and conservation of these natural treasures. Camping fees are set annually by the DNR and are generally consistent across similar types of sites within the state park system, offering a cost-effective way for Minnesotans to enjoy high-quality outdoor experiences. Reservations are typically made through the Minnesota DNR website, often well in advance, especially for popular weekends. The "offer" is the consistent provision of a safe, clean, and managed natural space for a reasonable fee, allowing locals to repeatedly access and enjoy the unique wilderness features of Wild River State Park. For the most current information on camping fees, park pass requirements, and any specific seasonal considerations, it is best to check the Minnesota DNR website directly or contact the park office.

Customer Reviews
This wasn't my favorite place as a woman traveling, alone. This is very secluded with no cell phone service. Quite the jaunt to get to, pretty far from attractions. Perfect for the person liking quiet, no phone sort of trip.
This is a very nice campground with large camp sites and very spread out lots of hiking trails and things to see.
Manager of the campground has a really nasty, bullying demeanor. This is well known to regulars according to the kayak tour vendor. She really enjoys disrupting family gatherings to nitpick on rules like nothing on the ground or no more than two structures but the real problem was the smug contempt. I've been camping for 20+ years and have had plenty of campground managers being nitpicky but nothing like this woman. Also the bathrooms are too few, too far apart, and absolutely disgusting - and the only dump station has been closed for over a year with no efforts to fix it, meaning they're violating Minnesota state law by charging the max nightly fee for a full-service campground. Plenty of beautiful and well-run state parks in the vicinity - give this one a pass.
Abundant wildlife and so many bird songs. I was enthralled with the beautiful songs of the Wood Thrush. Nice campground, but I do not camp to hear everyone's dog barking. If you can't keep your dog quiet, it does not belong in the campground. While we were here, the dump station was closed due to a water line break, and only 1 womens shower in A through C lanes was funtioning. This was over the 4th. One would think an effort would be made for a holiday week.
This campground is very large and very spread out. One of the nicer ones in our state parks.
