It allows for a more immersive connection with the natural environment, appealing to those who appreciate a slightly more primitive approach to camping. Therefore, it typically does not offer commercial promotions or special deals in the same way a private campground might. Fees are generally standard and contribute to the maintenance and preservation of the area. However, the following aspects might be relevant:

  • Federal Recreation Passes: If applicable, holders of federal recreation passes (like the America the Beautiful Pass) may have their entrance fees to the larger St. Croix National Scenic Riverway covered, though campsite fees are often separate.
  • Affordable Rates: Primitive campgrounds generally offer more affordable rates compared to full-service campgrounds due to the limited amenities, making them a budget-friendly option for locals.
  • First-Come, First-Served or Reservation System: Depending on management, sites might be first-come, first-served or require reservations through a national park or state forest system. Securing a spot, especially during peak season, is the primary "offer" for these popular, rustic sites.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information on any applicable fees or reservation procedures, it is always best to consult the official website for the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway or relevant state park/forest system directly. The true value proposition of Sunrise Landing lies in its untouched natural beauty and the authentic, peaceful camping experience it provides.

Nice little spot on the shores of the St. Croix. Lot's of field mice in the area so prepare for some small critters when packing for camping here. Otherwise, a very nice group of campsites for being an remote non-staffed camping area.

Good place to camp if all the river sites are taken. Avoid holidays and weekends if you don't like crowds tho; this place can be driven in to.
