For many Oklahomans, the joy of the open road and the freedom of recreational vehicle (RV) travel are central to their leisure and, for some, their lifestyle. Whether embarking on a weekend getaway to explore Oklahoma's diverse landscapes or seeking a comfortable base for a longer stay, finding the right campground is essential for a pleasant experience. This article aims to provide a clear, engaging, and informative overview of 66 Country RV Park in El Reno, Oklahoma, designed specifically for local users in the Sooner State who are looking for a reliable and functional spot for their RV adventures.
Campgrounds, particularly those catering to RVs, offer a unique set of amenities and a distinct atmosphere compared to traditional lodging. The primary appeal lies in providing dedicated spaces with crucial utility hookups, enabling travelers to maintain the comforts of their home-on-wheels while on the road. This typically includes access to electricity (often with various amperage options), fresh water connections, and sewer hookups for waste disposal. These services transform an RV from a mere vehicle into a fully functional, self-contained living unit, allowing for extended stays and greater independence.
Beyond the essential utilities, many RV parks also strive to offer additional features that enhance the guest experience. These might range from Wi-Fi access for staying connected to laundry facilities, communal gathering areas, and perhaps even recreational amenities. The quality of these offerings, coupled with the overall management and atmosphere of the park, can significantly impact a camper's satisfaction. For locals, knowing the ins and outs of nearby campgrounds is invaluable, whether they are planning a staycation, hosting out-of-state visitors, or seeking a temporary residence.
66 Country RV Park in El Reno, Oklahoma, presents itself as an option for RV travelers. While it offers strong practical features like concrete pads and robust utility hookups, it's also a place where resident experiences, particularly concerning management and pet policies, have been varied. This article will delve into the park's location, the services it provides, its notable features, and essential contact information, offering a balanced perspective to help Oklahomans make an informed decision for their next RV stop.
66 Country RV Park is conveniently situated at 1525 S Rock Island Ave, El Reno, OK 73036, USA. This address places the campground within El Reno, a historic city in Canadian County, Oklahoma. El Reno is well-known for its connection to Route 66 and its position approximately 25-30 miles west of Oklahoma City, making it an accessible stop for travelers on the iconic highway or those commuting to and from the metropolitan area.
The park's location on S Rock Island Ave provides straightforward access from major roads, which is a significant advantage for maneuvering large RVs. For campers, being in El Reno means having access to various local amenities and services. The city offers grocery stores, gas stations, and a selection of local diners and restaurants for dining out. El Reno also provides access to local parks and recreational facilities, including Lake El Reno for fishing and boating, and the historic downtown area with its unique shops and the Canadian County Historical Museum. The proximity to Oklahoma City also expands the range of shopping, dining, entertainment, and employment opportunities available to those staying at the park, making it a practical choice for both short-term visits and longer-term stays for those working in the area.
66 Country RV Park focuses on providing essential and robust services to ensure a functional and comfortable stay for RVers. Based on customer reviews, the primary services offered include:
Full RV Hookups: The park boasts "Very good water pressure and the electric box has 30 and 50 amp plugs with a couple 110 outlets for heated water hose." This indicates comprehensive electrical, water, and sewer connections at each site, allowing for full functionality of an RV's systems.
Concrete Pads: All spots are "concrete with a concrete pad just for the steps," which provides a stable, level, and clean surface for RVs, enhancing ease of setup and overall comfort.
Spacious Parking: The layout accommodates large rigs, with a review noting that a "40 ft fifth wheel" can park a "3500 crew cab service truck behind my rv and still have room for a car in front of my rv." This is a significant advantage for those with larger vehicles or trailers.
Grassy Areas at Sites: Each concrete pad has its "own grassy areas," offering a small outdoor space for relaxation or for pets.
Phone Check-in and Initial Communication: A quick check-in process via phone is available, with initial interactions described as "very nice and welcoming."
However, it's important to note that a significant concern was raised regarding communication from park management. One review details issues with the manager refusing to communicate over the phone and barely via text, as well as apparent inconsistencies in pet policy enforcement. This suggests that while initial interactions might be positive, ongoing communication and dispute resolution may be challenging.
66 Country RV Park offers several tangible features that are highly valued by RVers, alongside some significant areas for consideration as highlighted by differing resident experiences.
Superior Site Infrastructure: A major highlight is the park's "concrete" pads, which are not just for the RV, but also include a separate concrete pad for steps, enhancing stability and cleanliness. The "very good water pressure" and comprehensive electrical hookups (30, 50 amp, and 110 outlets) are also significant benefits for RV functionality.
Generous Space for Large Rigs: The ability to accommodate a "40 ft fifth wheel" and a large service truck, with "room for a car in front," is a substantial advantage for those with extensive setups, indicating ample space per site.
Individual Grassy Areas: Each site includes its "own grassy areas," providing a small patch of green space for outdoor relaxation or pet convenience.
Ease of Check-in: The process for checking in via phone is described as "Quick" and the initial interaction as "very nice and welcoming."
Convenient Location: Situated in El Reno, the park offers easy access to Route 66 and is a practical stop for travelers. It's also relatively close to Oklahoma City, providing access to more extensive urban amenities.
However, a critical aspect to highlight, based on a detailed review, is the highly problematic experience with park management, specifically regarding their "no pitbull" policy that reportedly isn't listed in the official policy and is selectively enforced. The manager is accused of refusing phone communication, barely communicating via text, lying about policy, and not being present in the office. Issues with other policy violations (unleashed dogs) by other residents also seem to be overlooked, while strict action is taken against others, raising concerns about fairness and transparency. These significant issues related to management and policy enforcement can severely impact the overall experience and are crucial for prospective residents to consider.
Specific promotions or special offers for 66 Country RV Park are not explicitly detailed in the provided customer reviews or information. RV parks commonly offer various types of incentives to attract and retain guests, though these can vary widely based on seasonality, occupancy rates, and management strategies.
Typical promotions for RV parks might include:
Weekly or Monthly Discounts: Reduced nightly rates for longer-term stays, appealing to those who plan to remain in the area for an extended period, perhaps for work assignments.
Seasonal Rates: Prices may vary depending on peak or off-peak camping seasons.
First-Time Visitor Discounts: A small discount to encourage new campers to try the park.
Referral Programs: Where existing guests receive a small incentive for referring new campers.
Given the conflicting information in the reviews, particularly regarding management communication, it is highly recommended that prospective guests contact 66 Country RV Park directly via phone. This will be the most reliable way to inquire about their current rates, any available promotions, and to get direct answers to any questions regarding their policies and availability.

For Oklahomans seeking an RV park in the El Reno area, 66 Country RV Park presents a compelling set of practical features, though its suitability ultimately hinges on navigating certain operational aspects. From a purely functional standpoint, the park offers significant advantages: "all concrete" pads with dedicated step areas ensure easy and stable parking, regardless of RV size. The robust utility hookups, including "very good water pressure" and versatile 30/50 amp electric plugs, cater perfectly to modern RV needs, providing the comforts of home on the road. The generous space per site, accommodating large fifth wheels with additional vehicle parking, is also a considerable benefit for those with substantial setups.
However, it is crucial for prospective local users to be fully aware of the serious concerns raised regarding park management and policy enforcement. The detailed review highlighting refusal of phone communication, selective enforcement of pet policies (specifically a "no pitbull" rule not listed in their official policy), and a general lack of transparency and consistent presence from the manager are significant red flags. While the park itself might offer excellent physical amenities, a difficult or inconsistent management experience can severely detract from the overall stay. For Oklahomans, this means that while the infrastructure of 66 Country RV Park is strong, careful due diligence is essential. It is highly advisable to call the park directly, confirm all policies in writing, and if possible, speak with current residents to gauge the current management situation. If these issues have been resolved or can be navigated, the park's superior concrete pads and utility services offer a very practical and comfortable base for RVers in the El Reno area, whether for short visits or longer-term stays. But without confirmation, potential campers should proceed with caution and verify all aspects beforehand.

Quick check in on phone. The lady is very nice and welcoming. Spots are all concrete with a concrete pad just for the steps. My fifth wheel is 40 ft and I can park my 3500 crew cab service truck behind my rv and still have room for a car in front of my rv. Very good water pressure and the electric box has 30 and 50 amp plugs with a couple 110 outlets for heated water hose.
Feb 08, 2025 · Spencer WortheyThe park itself is not bad at all. Spots are a little close together. Pads are concrete & have their own grassy areas. The reason for the 1 star is because you can't leave a review without it. WORST rv park manager EVER! Refuses to communicate over the phone & will barely communicate thru text. Told my husband we're being kicked out because of a "no pitbull" policy. #1 We have a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, not a pit. Our other dog is a rescue so we're not really sure what she is other than a 50lb chicken & is half blind. #2 We wouldn't have moved here if there were breed restrictions in their pet policy (because people are always saying Staffys are pits), BUT I have read & reread their policy & there aren't ANY breed restrictions listed. Not counting the fact that there are others here with "bully breeds", people letting their dogs run around not leashed, and people that ARE violating multiple policies listed on their website. Now, if she had led with excessive barking, there wouldn't be an issue because our dogs do & that IS in their policy. We've never seen her in person & doesn't seem to ever be in the office. It just blows my mind that someone would blatantly lie about policy (when it's so easy to screenshot the website) & then ignore being called on it.
Jan 23, 2025 · Red fritzI stayed here for a few months. We have a big fifth wheel and the spots were very accommodating. The Wi-Fi isn't the greatest but does work. Amber is a great manger and took care of our needs well.
