Skyview Estates About
For many Oklahomans, navigating the housing market can be a complex endeavor, with traditional homeownership often feeling out of reach. Manufactured home communities, commonly known as mobile home parks, present a unique and often more accessible alternative, offering a blend of independent living and a sense of community. This article aims to provide a clear, engaging, and factual overview of Skyview Estates, a manufactured home community located in El Reno, Oklahoma, to help local users in the Sooner State understand if this type of living, and this particular community, is the right fit for them.
Manufactured home living has a distinct character, and it’s important for prospective residents to understand this environment. Unlike apartment complexes, manufactured home communities typically offer individual homes on leased lots, providing more personal space, privacy, and often a small yard. This can be particularly appealing for those who desire a home experience without the full financial commitment and responsibilities of traditional land ownership. Modern manufactured homes are built to federal safety and construction standards, offering durable and comfortable living spaces.
The appeal of mobile home parks often extends beyond just affordability. Many residents value the potential for a close-knit community atmosphere, where neighbors can interact and support each other. However, like any residential area, experiences can vary greatly depending on the specific park's management, rules, and the general environment. For individuals and families considering this housing option in Oklahoma, especially in an area like El Reno, it's crucial to gather as much information as possible to make an informed decision.
Skyview Estates in El Reno has received varied feedback from residents, highlighting both the pros and cons that come with this type of living. This article will delve into the community's location and accessibility, discuss the services it offers, outline its features and highlights, and provide essential contact information. By presenting a balanced perspective, we aim to help Oklahomans understand what it might be like to live at Skyview Estates and if it aligns with their housing needs and expectations.
Skyview Estates is located at 1644 East Highway 66, El Reno, OK 73036, USA. This address places the community in El Reno, a city in Canadian County, Oklahoma, known for its historic Route 66 ties and strong local community. El Reno is situated approximately 25-30 miles west of Oklahoma City, providing residents with a balance of small-town living and convenient access to the amenities and employment opportunities of a larger metropolitan area.
The location on East Highway 66 (Route 66) offers direct and easy accessibility for vehicles, which is a significant advantage for daily commutes and travel. Residents of Skyview Estates are within reasonable driving distance of essential services and local attractions. El Reno itself provides various local shops, grocery stores, and dining options to meet daily needs. For more extensive shopping, dining, or entertainment, the close proximity to Oklahoma City ensures a wide range of choices.
El Reno boasts several community parks, including Legion Park with its swimming pool and splash pad, and Adams Park offering disc golf and a skatepark. Lake El Reno is also nearby, providing opportunities for outdoor activities like fishing, boating, and walking trails. The city is served by the El Reno Public Schools district. While one review mentions the presence of cats due to "big fields all around us and the construction going on just outside the Park," this also suggests a more open, semi-rural setting with potential for natural surroundings. The convenient location for "Oil Field Workers" is also noted, indicating its suitability for individuals in that industry.
Skyview Estates, as a manufactured home community, provides fundamental services typically associated with this type of residential living. Based on available information and resident feedback, the core services generally include:
Lot Rental: The primary service involves leasing individual plots of land where residents' manufactured homes are situated. This monthly fee covers the use of the lot and access to the community's infrastructure.
Community Management: There is a management team responsible for the overall operation of the park, including enforcing rules and regulations, addressing resident concerns, and handling administrative duties related to leases and payments. However, it's worth noting that one review mentions "2 managers in one year" and difficulty in getting calls or texts returned, suggesting potential inconsistencies in management responsiveness.
Utility Hookups: Residents would have access to essential utility connections such as electricity, water, and sewer on their individual lots. However, a review mentions "Water is constantly turned off without notice," which is a significant concern regarding utility service consistency.
Maintenance of Common Areas: Standard for such communities is the upkeep of shared spaces, roads, and general grounds within the park to maintain a livable environment.
Storm Shelters: While not explicitly stated in all reviews, mobile home communities in Oklahoma, a state prone to severe weather, often provide storm shelters for resident safety. One Zillow listing for a home in Skyview Estates mentions "storm shelters for your safety," implying this is a community feature.
Prospective residents should inquire directly about the current state of management, utility reliability, and the process for addressing maintenance or service issues, especially given the mixed feedback.
Skyview Estates presents a mixed bag of features and highlights, as reflected in the contrasting experiences of its residents. It's important to consider both the perceived benefits and challenges:
Community Living Experience: One resident, having grown up in a trailer park, considers Skyview Estates "actually pretty decent" and suitable for those who "likes living in a trailer park." This suggests a familiar and comfortable environment for individuals accustomed to this type of communal living.
Central and Convenient Location: The park is described as having a "convenient location," being on East Highway 66 and easily accessible to El Reno's amenities. Its proximity behind Frontier Chevrolet, as mentioned in a property listing, also points to its central placement.
Pet Presence (Cats): While a point of contention for some, the presence of "about five" cats that "roam around and they keep the mice away" is highlighted as a benefit by one resident, especially given the surrounding "big fields" and construction.
Affordability Potential: Manufactured home living is generally considered a more affordable housing option, and the desire to "eventually purchase the manufactured home I’m living in" suggests a pathway to homeownership for some residents.
Good Neighbors: Despite other challenges, one positive note is that "neighbors were nice," indicating a positive social environment among residents.
Storm Shelters: Public listings for homes within Skyview Estates mention "storm shelters for your safety," which is a crucial feature for residents in Oklahoma's tornado-prone region.
Individual Home Features: Some homes within the community may offer features like fenced yards with large shady trees and even above-ground swimming pools (as noted in one property listing), offering more private amenities than apartment living.
However, it is crucial to acknowledge significant challenges raised in reviews, including issues with "excessive cost for low end living," "Brand New trailer w/everything wrong, from electrical, plumbing ,to foundation," "cats every where don't leave anything outside it will reek of cat urine," "Water is constantly turned off without notice," and difficulties with deposit returns and management responsiveness ("park manger doesn't return calls or text"). These issues are serious considerations for prospective residents.
Specific promotions or special offers for Skyview Estates are not explicitly detailed in the provided information or public reviews. Manufactured home communities often offer various incentives to attract new residents, though these can vary based on market conditions and current occupancy.
Common promotions for mobile home parks might include:
Move-in Specials: This could involve reduced or waived security deposits, or a period of free or discounted lot rent for new leases.
Referral Programs: Existing residents might receive a bonus for successfully referring new tenants.
Home Purchase Incentives: If the community sells homes directly, they might offer discounts on the purchase price, financing assistance, or appliance packages.
Given the mixed feedback regarding management communication and "excessive cost for low end living," it is especially important for prospective residents to contact Skyview Estates directly. This will allow them to inquire about any current promotions, understand the full cost structure (including lot rent and any additional fees for utilities or other services), and clarify any pricing discrepancies.

For Oklahomans seeking an alternative housing solution in El Reno, Skyview Estates presents a unique option within the manufactured home community landscape. Its suitability for locals depends heavily on individual priorities and an understanding of the specific characteristics of mobile home park living. On the positive side, the community offers a chance for a more independent lifestyle than traditional apartments, with individual homes and potentially private yards, a feature highlighted in some property listings. The long-term resident's perspective, who plans to stay and eventually purchase their home, suggests that for those accustomed to or suited for "trailer park" living, it can be a comfortable and potentially stable home base. The central location on Highway 66 provides convenient access to El Reno’s amenities and a manageable commute to Oklahoma City, which is a practical benefit for many. Furthermore, the presence of storm shelters within the community is a critical safety advantage in a state prone to severe weather.
However, it is crucial for prospective residents to carefully consider the significant concerns raised by other reviews. Issues such as "excessive cost for low end living," major problems with new manufactured homes, "cats everywhere" leading to property damage, and "Water is constantly turned off without notice" are serious drawbacks that directly impact quality of life. The reported difficulties with management responsiveness, including deposit returns and returned calls, also indicate potential challenges in resident support.
Therefore, for Oklahomans considering Skyview Estates, thorough due diligence is paramount. While it might offer an affordable entry point into homeownership or a more spacious rental option, it is essential to personally inspect any specific home, clarify all costs and utility responsibilities, inquire directly about management's current practices and responsiveness, and perhaps even speak with current residents to gain a comprehensive understanding of the day-to-day living experience. If these concerns can be adequately addressed to a potential resident's satisfaction, and if they are comfortable with the unique aspects of mobile home park living, Skyview Estates could be a suitable option for those seeking a home in El Reno.
Customer Reviews
I grew up in a trailer park, and this one is actually pretty decent. I see a lot of negative reviews and I have a feeling that a lot of folks just aren’t suited to live in a trailer park. It’s not like living in any other environment. Yes there are cats but that comes with living in El Reno. They aren’t nearly as bad as other neighborhoods around town. There’s probably about five of them that roam around and they keep the mice away. I appreciate that considering the big fields all around us and the construction going on just outside the Park. All in all I plan to stay here for many years and eventually purchase the manufactured home I’m living in and I recommend anyone that likes living in a trailer park to come check it out and be the new neighbor.
Excessive cost for low end living. 2 managers in one year. Brand New trailer w/everything wrong, from electrical, plumbing ,to foundation and more. Excuse was trailers Seattle and this can happen. Not from move in day to lease was up. Cats every where don't leave anything outside it will reek of cat urine. Ruined my outside furniture and grill cover. Water is constantly turned off without notice. I gave 2 month notice before lease was up that I was not renewing, I am still waiting to get my deposit back, with no information on who to contact about it. While park manger doesn't return calls or text. On the good side neighbors were nice and convenient location
This is the place to live in El Reno brand new homes going into the community. They even have nice big new sheds. Great Community Manager. Clean and friendly tenants.
But my impression from viewing/visiting, management isn't on top of anything. Looks low end with no maintenance standards. (ie trash on ground, trailers in disrepair, tons of ferel cats) could be a good looking place if someone gave a darn past collecting rent
Has a lot to offer. Yet nobody had got the te to fo it! Little things like extermination charges they promise when er extra charges for roaches & spiders since day one....8 mont u s later they get it sprayed but billed. Me for it.STILL dont have screens on windows to.kerp bugs out and kids in we hope. So far, nothing on that issue either. Iif I had a pool for my residence I would either know what was happening or hire someone who does. That whimmsky chlorinated floaty thing ain't work a dime in that pool! The need an in ground chlorination process pump used correctly & monitored correctly to get the green out. There is still the kitty population that continously get worse! Cants in dumpsters, cats on cars cats in cars and using that new grounding at playground as kitty litter. No one cleans it up, it's unsightly & extremely unsanitary for children to be playing in
