Lake El Reno RV Park About

For many Oklahomans, the allure of camping and RV travel lies in the freedom to explore the state's natural beauty and connect with loved ones. Whether planning a short weekend getaway or seeking a convenient base for family visits, finding an accessible and affordable RV park is often a top priority. This article aims to provide a clear, engaging, and factual overview of Lake El Reno RV Park in El Reno, Oklahoma, specifically designed for local users in the Sooner State who are looking for a practical and budget-friendly camping option.

RV parks and campgrounds serve a vital role for travelers, offering essential amenities that allow for comfortable and self-sufficient stays. Unlike primitive camping, RV parks typically provide hookups for electricity, water, and often sewer, transforming a recreational vehicle into a fully functional home-on-wheels. These services are crucial for extended stays, enabling campers to power their appliances, access fresh water, and manage waste efficiently. Beyond the basic utilities, some campgrounds also offer additional features like communal facilities, recreational areas, or scenic surroundings that enhance the overall outdoor experience.

The choice of a campground can significantly impact the quality of a trip or a temporary living situation. Factors such as affordability, availability, and the condition of facilities are key considerations. For those who prioritize value and convenience, especially when visiting family or exploring a specific area, understanding the unique operational aspects of a park, such as its reservation policy and payment methods, is essential.

Lake El Reno RV Park in El Reno, Oklahoma, stands out for its remarkably affordable rates and its first-come, first-served policy, making it an accessible option for spontaneous travelers. However, like any community amenity, experiences can vary, and it's important to consider all facets of recent guest feedback. This article will delve into the park's location, the services it offers, its features and highlights, and practical contact information, aiming to provide a balanced perspective to help Oklahomans make informed decisions for their next camping adventure.

Services Offered

Lake El Reno RV Park focuses on providing essential services for RVers, with a strong emphasis on affordability. Based on available information and recent customer reviews, the core services offered include:

  • Full Hookups: A major benefit highlighted by residents is the availability of "full hookup" sites. This typically includes connections for electricity, water, and sewer at each individual RV spot, providing convenience for a self-contained RV stay.

  • Affordable Daily Rate: The cost is a significant draw, with a stated rate of "$25/full hookup," which is considered "very good" and "Can't beat it" by satisfied customers, making it a highly budget-friendly option.

  • First-Come, First-Served Basis: The park operates on a "First come first serve no reservations" policy. This means spots are available as they become open, without the need for advance booking, which can be convenient for spontaneous travelers.

  • Payment Options: Payments are accepted via "Cash or check only!" It's crucial for prospective campers to be aware of this specific payment policy as credit/debit cards are not accepted.

  • Bathrooms: While the condition of the bathrooms has been a significant point of negative feedback (referencing "filthy and stink," "feces on the floor and walls," "BLACK MOLD"), their presence suggests they are a facility offered by the park, despite cleanliness issues.

  • Waste Disposal: The availability of full hookups implies proper sewer connections at each site for waste disposal.

The mixed reviews highlight that while essential hookups are available at a great price, the cleanliness and maintenance of communal facilities like bathrooms have been a severe concern. Enforcement of quiet hours also appears to be lacking, according to feedback.

Features / Highlights

Lake El Reno RV Park offers several key features and highlights that make it attractive for certain types of RVers, particularly those prioritizing budget and immediate availability. However, it's also crucial to present the challenges highlighted in recent reviews for a complete picture:

  • Exceptional Affordability: The most prominent highlight is the cost, at "$25/full hookup," which is widely praised as "very nice and the cost even better" and "Can't beat it." This makes it one of the most budget-friendly full hookup options in the area.

  • Full Hookups: Each site offers full hookups, providing all essential utilities (electric, water, sewer) for a comfortable and self-contained RV stay.

  • First-Come, First-Served Availability: The "no reservations" policy means campers can often arrive and secure a spot without prior booking, which is ideal for spontaneous trips or last-minute needs. Reviews indicate no issues getting a spot even without reservations.

  • Proximity to Family/Friends: One positive review highlights its suitability for visiting "wife's children" and family, indicating its convenience as a base for local visits.

  • Location by Lake El Reno: Being located at Lake El Reno offers scenic views and immediate access to outdoor activities like fishing and boating (though the "pond has nothing but trash and turtles" according to one review, suggesting varying conditions).

However, it is critical to address the significant negative feedback regarding park conditions and management:

  • Deteriorating Bathroom Conditions: Recent reviews describe the bathrooms as having "gone downhill," being "completely trash," with "feces on the floor and walls," "clogged drains," and "BLACK MOLD in ALL the showers." This indicates severe sanitation and maintenance issues in communal facilities.

  • Lack of Enforcement/Security: Concerns are raised about "Local junkies and homeless completely trash the bathrooms," people using facilities "that don't even pay to be there," and "Quiet hours are not enforced." Additionally, "Local police do nothing about noise complaints," suggesting a lack of security or effective rule enforcement.

These conflicting reviews present a complex picture; while the cost and hookups are highly praised, the communal facility conditions and enforcement issues are serious drawbacks.

Promotions or Special Offers

Based on the provided information, Lake El Reno RV Park operates with a straightforward and highly affordable daily rate of $25 for full hookups. There are no specific "promotions or special offers" mentioned beyond this consistently low price, which itself acts as a significant incentive for budget-conscious travelers.

Key points regarding pricing and offers are:

  • Flat Daily Rate: The park charges a flat $25 per night for a full hookup site, which is highlighted as a great value by customers.

  • No Reservations: The "first come first serve" policy means there aren't reservation-based deals or advance booking discounts.

  • Cash or Check Only: This payment restriction is a crucial detail for potential campers to note, as credit or debit cards are not accepted for payment.

Given the park's operational model, the primary "offer" is its consistent affordability and the convenience of its first-come, first-served policy. Prospective campers should prepare to pay in cash or by check upon arrival and be aware that specific discounts for longer stays or other promotions are not publicly advertised. It is always best to call ahead to confirm the current rate and payment methods, as these can occasionally change.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

For Oklahomans seeking an RV camping experience in the El Reno area, Lake El Reno RV Park presents a very specific set of characteristics that make it suitable for certain types of travelers, while posing significant considerations for others. Its most compelling advantage for locals is unequivocally its affordability. At a mere "$25/full hookup," it offers an unbeatable value for essential RV amenities, making it highly accessible for budget-conscious individuals or families. The "first come first serve" policy, while requiring flexibility, has surprisingly not been an issue for securing a spot, as indicated by positive reviews, allowing for spontaneous trips without the hassle of advance reservations. For those visiting family in the El Reno area, as one review notes, its proximity is a clear benefit, providing a convenient and cost-effective base. The immediate access to Lake El Reno itself also offers recreational opportunities, even if the "pond" conditions are varied.

However, it is absolutely paramount for prospective local users to be fully aware of the serious and consistent concerns raised in recent reviews, particularly regarding the communal facilities. The descriptions of "trashed bathrooms," "feces on the floor and walls," "clogged drains," and "BLACK MOLD" are severe warnings that suggest a significant lack of maintenance and hygiene in these shared spaces. Furthermore, issues with "local junkies and homeless" using and trashing facilities, coupled with a reported lack of enforcement for "quiet hours" and police inaction on noise complaints, point to potential security and management challenges that could impact overall comfort and safety.

Therefore, Lake El Reno RV Park is most suitable for highly self-contained RVers who do not rely on park bathrooms or other communal facilities, and who prioritize extreme affordability above all else. For those with functional RV showers and restrooms, who can manage their own waste within their rig, and who are comfortable with a more relaxed (or un-enforced) noise policy and potential security concerns, the $25 full hookup rate can be a significant draw. However, anyone requiring clean public amenities or strict quiet hour enforcement should exercise extreme caution and perhaps explore other options. Locals should definitely call ahead to confirm current conditions and be prepared for a no-frills experience where the primary value is the low cost of the full hookup site.

Close to my wife's children and the park is very nice and the cost even better at $25/full hookup! Can't beat it. First come first serve no reservations but didn't have an issue getting a spot both time we stayed. Cash or check only!

Has really gone downhill ever since the camp hosts left a couple months ago. Local junkies and homeless completely trash the bathrooms every single day. People that don't even pay to be there also using and trashing the bathrooms everyday. Leaving trash, soiled clothes, paraphernalia, etc on the floors of the bathrooms. Feces on the floor and walls on multiple occasions. The drains are clogged, so the floors are constantly wet and filthy and stink. BLACK MOLD in ALL the showers. Prison showers are cleaner. The pond has nothing but trash and turtles. Quiet hours are not enforced. Local police do nothing about noise complaints. Really only good thing about it is it's cheap.

Okay I have been WAITING to post about this location, first off the people there were nice and friendly, the location is absolutely beautiful, lakes and the RV spots had hook ups and nice spacing between the lots, the lake views was gorgeous. BUT here's the deal breaker for this location, the bathrooms were ALL DISGUSTING, it was a horror movie in the making, I went into all four bathrooms, and each one was worse than the next, I wouldn't even let my dog use those bathrooms (I don't have a dog lol). There were some old creepy clothes left behind in the showers like 10 years ago, no curtains so EVERYTHING WAS WET and creepy, no where to lay ANYTHING down NOR WOULD YOU.. UGH and don't let me get started on the tiolets. So if staying here make sure you have a camper so you don't have to shower or pee in there bc you won't make it out w calling CDC lol

I’ve been coming here for years! It’s always quiet and I miss the cute old lady that used to drive around in a golf but the host I’ve seen lately is always cleaning or doing lawn work! Super nice guy !

We stopped here for one night on our road trip. It is a very nice simple place that we enjoyed camping at. Only 20.00 for electric and water. They do have full hook ups too.
