Manufactured home communities, often referred to as mobile home parks, play a vital role in the state's diverse housing market by providing accessible living options. These communities can offer a unique blend of independent living with neighborhood amenities, often at a more attractive price point than traditional single-family homes. The concept of a mobile home park typically involves residents owning their manufactured homes while leasing the land on which their home sits. This arrangement can offer several advantages, including potentially lower upfront costs for homeownership and reduced property taxes compared to traditional real estate. For Illinois residents, especially those looking for budget-friendly living solutions or a stable long-term residence, this model can be an appealing alternative.

I have lived here for 14 years. A few alcoholics, drug addicts and a lot lizard walk up and down the street. Watch your kids. They are fixing up the place which is nice but now we do not get clean water to drink. You must boil and they are not fixing the problem. Has been that way for months. They do not care about the people already here. Maintenance guy is inappropriate with some residents. Too many speed bumps. Update it has been over a year and still have to boil water. Had drinkable water before new management. They blame the water company and water company blames them.

If you live here, you know and understand that nothing gets done, unless you beg the manager. We recently have gotten new owners, and with these new owners we thought things would change. Well if anything it got worse. The new owners have put new trailers in the park, but have completely neglected the other tenants wishes. I’ve been a renter for years and years, and never have I ever had to literally beg someone to fix their property.
