Restroom Facilities: Pit toilets are available for campers. While opinions on their condition vary, the campground aims to provide necessary facilities for basic hygiene.
Potable Water: A source of potable water is typically provided. It is important to note that a previous review mentioned issues with water quality, so campers might consider bringing their own water for drinking and cooking as a precaution or verifying current conditions upon arrival.

On-Site Host/Management: A friendly campground host is typically on-site, assisting campers and ensuring facilities like toilets are cleaned regularly, as noted by positive reviews. This personal touch contributes to a welcoming environment.

Proximity to Water: The campground offers a short, approximately 5-minute hike to nearby water, providing access for enjoying the lake or other natural water features.
Natural and Rustic Setting: For campers who appreciate a more natural and less developed camping experience, Sandhill Station offers an authentic outdoor adventure, free from the distractions of more commercial campgrounds.

Specific, time-limited promotions are not commonly advertised for such campgrounds in general public data. However, campers can often find value in:
Competitive Rates: Given its peaceful and natural setting, the nightly rates are likely to be competitive, offering good value for a serene escape in Wisconsin.

Customer Reviews
Stayed here two nights on end of August 2023. Great experience, beautiful, quite, peaceful. Toilet was very clean, plenty of Toilet paper, seen host clean it twice while we were there. Host was very friendly. Fire wood delivered to us when we called. Surprisingly barely any mosquito. Will visit again.
Small campground with beautiful big oak trees but not much else. "Walkin" sites mean that you park and walk into the campground, had plenty of neighbors who were not prepared for this. Sites are small and difficult to choose based off the photos. Our site only had morning shade and was unbearably hot. There are pit toilets close by but were the smelliest I have ever encountered while camping. "Potable" water was a disgusting shade of yellow and left a residue on our water bag. We did not risk drinking it. Small 5 minute hike to the water was the only part we enjoyed of the campground it self. We only booked this site as it was the last available in Southeast Wisconsin for our last minute camping adventure.
Loved this place. There was someone in my camp site that I had reserved. Thank God there was another site I was able to book. Id recommend whoever oversees the site to look for stuff like that. I was able to get money from the individuals to make up what I spent. The sites are beautiful would have been nice to be able to drive in by the site to unpack, gates were locked. Try to get fire wood before you arrive, otherwise you'll have to scavenge some, and there is a nice big brush pile down towards the overflow lot.
Nice little area for tent camping, you don't have to walk too far from the parking lot. My only gripe is that when you pick a spot, you can't really tell what you're getting from the website. Some spots have no shade at all, ours only had evening shade, some are more secluded than others, it's a good idea to take a walk around here first before making a reservation, especially with summer weather. There are vault toilets on site that are easy to get to. Site have picnic table and fire pit. There is no wood on site. I do understand that outdoors means mosquitos, but be prepared for an onslaught. Even with bug spray I still got about 2 dozen bites. We came during the week to avoid other campers.
Sandhills station on Mud Lake is a beautiful camp ground, guarded by stately oak and beach trees this quiet spot is tucked away just barley out of reach of the lights of Lake Mills. It's is graced with much flora and fauna, a glorious example of central WI with a view of the Milky Way. On a weekday in the middle of summer you may be lucky enough to get the whole campground to yourself as I did. I enjoyed quite encounters with wildlife and an early morning chat with a birder wondering through. And of course the cranes the spot is named for are seen and heard from dawn till dusk.
