Andes Rv Park About
For Minnesotans passionate about the outdoors and seeking a new destination for their RV adventures, Andes RV Park in Kensington, MN, offers an exciting opportunity. Opened in 2023 as an extension of the popular Andes Tower Hills, this RV park aims to be a year-round hub for camping, hiking, and biking. Situated amidst over 800 acres of scenic trails, Andes RV Park provides a unique blend of natural immersion and modern conveniences, making it an appealing choice for families, couples, and solo travelers alike.
While it's a newer addition to the Minnesota camping scene, meaning there's "always room for improvement" as one visitor noted, the park is actively developing its offerings. It provides essential full hook-up sites and clean facilities, setting a strong foundation for an enjoyable stay. The emphasis on extensive trail systems and various outdoor activities positions Andes RV Park as more than just a place to park; it's a destination for active recreation and relaxation. For locals eager to explore more of Minnesota's natural beauty, especially in the lakes area, Andes RV Park presents a promising option that continues to evolve and enhance its guest experience.
Andes RV Park is strategically located at 4505 Andes Rd SW, Kensington, MN 56343, USA. This address places it within Kensington, a small community in Douglas County, West Central Minnesota. The park's setting is a significant draw, being part of the larger Andes Tower Hills property, known for its extensive recreational land.
For Minnesotans, the park is conveniently accessible. It's located just 15 miles west of Alexandria, a larger regional hub with more amenities and services. The park is also approximately 10 minutes south from Exit 90 on I-94, making it easily reachable from major interstate routes. This accessibility allows for relatively quick drives from population centers like St. Cloud (about 1 hour, 7 minutes), Minneapolis (around 2 hours), and even Fargo (about 1 hour, 27 minutes). While the reviews mention a more rural feel, the proximity to these larger towns ensures that campers are never too far from supplies, dining, or other conveniences. The location within 800 acres of trails also means immediate access to extensive outdoor exploration right from your campsite.
Andes RV Park offers a comprehensive range of services designed to provide a comfortable and activity-rich camping experience:

Andes RV Park, as a relatively new development associated with Andes Tower Hills, offers several compelling features and highlights for campers in Minnesota:
- Extensive Trail System: With over 800 acres of accessible trails, the park is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. These trails are perfect for hiking, mountain biking, and even exploring with electric golf carts or four-wheelers.
- Full Hook-up RV Sites: All 45 RV sites are equipped with full hook-ups (50-amp electric, water, and sewer), ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay for modern RVs. The sites are described as "nice big flat camp spots" with "concrete slabs," which is a significant plus for leveling and stability.
- Modern & Clean Bathhouse: The park boasts "very nice clean bathrooms with free showers," a highly appreciated amenity that enhances the overall camping experience.
- Peaceful & Quiet Atmosphere: Despite the range of activities, visitors highlight the park's remarkable quietness, making it an ideal spot for those seeking a tranquil retreat and a good night's rest. This "quiet" aspect can be a major highlight for many campers.
- Access to Private Lakes: Guests have access to two private lakes (Brandon and Isaac) via the trail system, offering opportunities for kayaking, fishing, and swimming (in Lake Isaac).
- Variety of Activities: Beyond the trails, the park offers a kids' play area, new pickleball courts (opened Mid-July 2023), and a unique 9-hole disc golf course, providing diverse entertainment options.
- Year-Round Operation: As part of Andes Tower Hills, the RV park is open year-round, allowing for seasonal variations in activities, from summer hiking to potential winter adventures.
- Great Birding Opportunities: One reviewer specifically mentioned "GREAT birding," indicating the natural environment is conducive to wildlife observation.
While the park is still undergoing "tweaks," as a new development, its current features provide a strong foundation for a memorable outdoor experience in Minnesota.
Specific, ongoing promotional "offers" for daily or weekly stays at Andes RV Park are not consistently detailed in public information, as is common for many newer or smaller RV parks. However, based on the park's operations and its connection to Andes Tower Hills, certain pricing structures and potential benefits can be inferred:
- Daily and Seasonal Rates: The park explicitly offers both daily and seasonal rates, indicating that longer stays (seasonal) would likely come with a reduced per-night cost compared to daily bookings, providing a long-term value.
- "Super Saver" or Package Deals: While not specific to the RV park, Andes Tower Hills itself has offered "Big Splash - Andes Tower Ski Offer" in conjunction with Arrowwood Resort. This suggests a potential for future collaborations or bundled deals that might include RV park stays with other Andes Tower Hills activities or nearby attractions.
- Potential for Group Rates: For larger groups looking to book multiple RV sites or the rustic cabin, it is always worth inquiring directly with management about possible group discounts.
- Value of Amenities: The inclusive nature of full hook-ups, clean bathhouses with free showers, and access to an extensive trail system and recreational facilities (pickleball, disc golf) represents a significant value in itself, even without explicit "promotions."

Customer Reviews
We were excited to try out Andes tower! We were very fortunate to get a last minute spot over Fourth of July weekend. However, we were disappointed in the lack of celebration going on at the park. But we made the best of it. Cons: No swimming No shade on sites Frisbee golf not easy to get to Frisbee golf not realistic for children or not physically fit The grade of the land isn’t set up for proper drainage of rain. Sites become flooded. The sewer hookup is too high for proper drainage. The kayak launch is FAR. If you do not have appropriate gear to transport or drive it down, you are out of luck. Kayak launch not well taken care of. No on site help Only have a couple golf carts for rent so they were sold out.. Pros: Quiet. I mean QUIET. (Might be a con if you’re like my family) Great biking trails Availability Seasonal sites were very helpful and friendly Overall our experience was ok. This is a new park that I’m sure will have many tweaks along the way. Always room for improvement. We are hopeful and excited to see what they do with it.
nice big flat camp spots. all have electric, water and septic. wonderful trails!! very nice clean bathrooms with free showers!!! GREAT birding!
We were driving through the area for our roadtrip from NY to North Dakota (August 17th) and we decided to stay for one night at the Rustic Cabin. Jessah and Jack were beyond helpful! Communication was 10 stars. Jack was so kind to show us the cabin, given the time we arrived. Cabin does not have any electricity or water. But it was perfect for our stay, since we needed a break from the road. The cabin is right by Isaac Lake. There was a porta potty a few feet away from cabin. Equipped with two beds (you bring your own blankets). We were able to park our truck by the cabin. It has a outdoor grill and a picnic table. There was also a Coleman grill in the cabin. We would 100% stay again! Thank you so much for your hospitality. P.S. Bring lanterns, water, blankets, pillows, and food to grill for the full experience ☀️
Very satisfied. our site was level and the bathroom/shower house was clean and the water was hot! We snagged a site in June at 7 pm! only thing was the mosquitos! of course it is Minnesota!
Nice place, good staff, beautiful, lots of trails and room to do things outdoors. It is a ways off of I-94, but worth the drive!
