Its strategic location offers a balance between being immersed in nature and having easy access to the famous Wisconsin Dells, Devil's Lake State Park, and the quaint town of Baraboo itself. Baraboo RV Resort By Rjourney, located at E10545 Terrytown Rd, Baraboo, WI 53913, USA, positions itself as a family-friendly RV resort that seeks to offer a full spectrum of camping experiences. The resort boasts a significant size and layout, featuring sites that are designed to feel integrated with nature, surrounded by trees rather than being on "a concrete slab and table in the middle of a field," as noted by a former seasonal camper. This natural setting is often highlighted as one of its strongest attributes.
The resort offers a variety of accommodation types, including shaded full hook-up RV sites, tent sites, and various cabin rentals (basic, deluxe, beach, and cabins with lofts). Each cabin typically includes beds, a refrigerator, a microwave, air conditioning and heat, running water (inside or out), and tables and chairs, aiming to provide a comfortable "home away from home" experience. Beyond just a place to park or sleep, Baraboo RV Resort by Rjourney emphasizes its on-site activities and facilities, from an aqua park and swimming pond to mini-golf and various planned activities, aiming to keep families engaged throughout their stay.
However, recent customer reviews indicate significant concerns regarding the maintenance of some amenities, particularly the pool and mini-golf course, which are described as "old and tired" and "ripped up." Furthermore, several reviews express strong dissatisfaction with customer service and the overall management approach by Rjourney corporate, citing "rude, unaccommodating and threatening" staff, "a TON of rules," and issues with overbooking and billing. While the potential for family fun is acknowledged, these operational issues are a recurring theme in recent feedback, suggesting areas where the resort needs substantial improvement to match its advertised promise.
Baraboo RV Resort By Rjourney is strategically located at E10545 Terrytown Rd, Baraboo, WI 53913, USA. This address places it in a prime position for Wisconsin locals looking to explore one of the state's most popular tourist regions.
The resort is situated just outside the charming and historic town of Baraboo. This means campers are "out in the country," enjoying a peaceful, natural environment, yet are within a convenient 10-minute drive to essential amenities. This proximity provides easy access to "grocery stores/hardware stores/and amazing restaurants" in Baraboo, ensuring that campers can quickly resupply or enjoy local dining experiences. The community of Baraboo also hosts "many events throughout the year in their downtown square," adding local flavor to a camping trip.
Beyond Baraboo, the RV Resort's location is ideal for accessing major Wisconsin attractions. It is just a few minutes' drive from the renowned Wisconsin Dells, often called the "Waterpark Capital of the World," offering endless entertainment options. Additionally, it's very close to the natural beauty of Devil's Lake State Park, famous for its hiking trails, stunning bluffs, and beautiful scenery, and also near the Circus World Museum, a unique historical attraction. Accessibility to the resort is facilitated by its proximity to US Highway 12 and major interstates (I-90/I-94), making it an easy drive for RVs and trailers from various parts of Wisconsin and beyond. This blend of rural tranquility and convenient access to attractions is a significant advantage for this location.

- Snack Shoppe: Offers food items like pizza, nachos, and soda for quick meals and treats.

- Cable TV: Some accommodations may offer cable access.
- Pet-Friendly: The resort welcomes pets, with specific rules and "Bark Parks" available.
- Seasonal/Extended Stay Options: Offers extended stay options for those looking for longer periods.
While the range of services is comprehensive, recent customer feedback suggests that the maintenance and management of these services, particularly the cleanliness of the pool and the functionality of some recreational amenities, are areas that guests have found lacking.
Baraboo RV Resort By Rjourney boasts a variety of features and highlights designed to create a fun-filled family vacation, though guest experiences regarding their upkeep vary:
- Aqua Park & Swimming Pond: A significant draw, featuring a swimming pond with inflatables for climbing and playing, along with sandy beach areas for relaxation. A separate heated swimming pool is also available.
- Jumping Pillow: A popular attraction for kids, providing a large inflatable surface for bouncing and play.
- Mini Golf: An on-site mini-golf course offers family-friendly entertainment, though some reviews note its poor condition.
- Game Room: An indoor game room provides an alternative for entertainment, especially during inclement weather.
- Playgrounds: Equipped with various play structures for children.
- Sports Courts: Includes sand volleyball and a skate park, offering options for active play.
- Dog Park: Dedicated "Bark Parks" provide space for pets to exercise and play off-leash.
- Family Bikes/Pedal Carts: Available for hourly rental, allowing families to explore the campground in a fun way.
- Balloon Slingshot Game: A unique activity, though balloons for the game often need to be purchased at an additional cost.
- Planned Group Activities & Themed Weekends: The resort frequently organizes activities and themed weekends, aiming to enhance the guest experience and foster a community atmosphere.
- Proximity to Major Attractions: Its location is a major highlight, being minutes away from Wisconsin Dells waterparks, Devil's Lake State Park, Circus World Museum, and downtown Baraboo.
- Wooded Sites: Many sites are set within a wooded environment, offering a sense of privacy and a natural ambiance, distinct from open field campgrounds.
These features aim to provide a comprehensive entertainment package, making the resort a destination in itself. However, it's important for potential visitors to note the recurring themes in recent reviews regarding the condition and maintenance of some of these attractions, especially the pool and mini-golf course, as well as the additional costs associated with many of the activities beyond basic swimming.
Information on specific, widely advertised promotions or special offers for Baraboo RV Resort By Rjourney is not consistently prominent in public reviews beyond general pricing. However, like many RV resorts under larger management, certain standard discounts and booking benefits are typically available. Potential promotions or special offers might include:
- Good Sam Club Discounts: Baraboo RV Resort by Rjourney is listed as a Good Sam Park and offers a 10% discount for Good Sam Club Members on daily rates. This is a common and reliable discount for many RVers.
- Seasonal & Extended Stay Rates: The resort offers not just daily rates, but also weekly and monthly rates for RV sites. These extended stay options often present a cost-saving compared to booking nightly, which can be a significant "promotion" for locals planning longer vacations or seasonal stays.
- Online Booking Deals: While not explicitly stated in reviews, Rjourney's website often features "Start Your Journey" deals, and it's always worth checking their official booking portal directly for any limited-time discounts or package deals for specific dates or accommodation types.
- Early Bird or Off-Peak Specials: Some resorts offer reduced rates during shoulder seasons (spring and fall) or for bookings made far in advance. It would be advisable to inquire directly or check their online booking system for such possibilities.
Given the feedback about corporate customer service, direct inquiry via phone for any special offers might be challenging. Therefore, utilizing their official website for booking and checking for visible promotions, or consulting platforms like Good Sam that list their discounts, would be the most reliable approach for Wisconsin residents seeking the best value. Prices can fluctuate based on site type, time of year, and demand, with nightly rates reportedly ranging from around $35 to over $100 depending on the site and date.

Customer Reviews
As a now former Seasonal camper (3 seasons) at Baraboo I have to say the location, size and layout of campground is amazing. Sites feel like you are in a State park, with trees all around, instead of a concrete slab and table in the middle of a field. Location outside of the amazing little town of Baraboo is ideal. You are out in the country, but within 10 minutes you have all the grocery stores/hardware stores/and amazing restaurants. The community has many events throughout the year in their downtown square. The campground amenities though are old and tired and need sprucing up. The pool which should be the gem is always dirty with sand, hair, and bandaids floating. Tiles are missing in places, every single lounge chair is cracked or broken and the chlorine levels are never quite right. The mini golf course is ripped up and should have been pulled years ago. Personally never went in the pond, not my thing. My biggest issue though and the only reason we left was Rjourney corporate and their complete lack of customer care. Also, constantly overbooking overnight campers and allowing 10+ people on sites that were to be a max of 6. The site manager could not make a decision without checking with corporate. If you tried to contact corporate you are only able to call the reservation line, there is no follow up, there is no customer service to be had. You are told they will take your issue up the chain, but never a phone call, or email returned. I had left 15+ messages and several emails with never a reply. No matter what the reason of your call, it stops at the reservation desk. Constant issues with billing, fees being added and just lack of respect for their paying customer is what finally pushed us out of an ideal campsite that we had put hundreds of dollars into improving in the 3 seasons we were there. Rjourney do better!
We took the kids here for a weekend and did not have a great experience. First off, the staff is very rude, unaccommodating and threatening even (the other reviews about this are spot on). This isn't true for some of the workers in the shop and around the campground, but definitely is for the head man and lady that run this place. They would rather yell and belittle customers than thank them for their business and provide this little thing called customer service. Interesting business plan indeed. Second, there are a TON of rules! They might actually have a second business owning a sign shop because I've never seen so many signs with rules before! The sites are not great. They have a lot of gravel and not a lot of grass. As a larger family with a big tent, we were forced to put half the tent on the gravel bc our site was so tight. Next, this place is all about making money on you. The wristbands to play in an average play area (at best) are completely overpriced at $25 per kid. Yes, let me spend $100 to jump on an inflatable and play on a swing set. Oh, and don't think that includes the family bikes, those are $10 per hour extra. There is a pool and swimming pond that are free. The pool is dirty, and crowded w/ lots of broken patio furniture. The pond is questionable with green water and some floats that have stagnate water sitting in them with some green and brown growth. Sure, let me throw my kids right in those floats...probably should just get rid of since they clearly don't maintain. There is also a balloon slingshot game this is very fun, but bring your own balloons or you will pay 10x for overpriced ones! All in all we made the best of it and the kids had fun, they didn't really notice all the little things that we are complaining about. The ownership really needs to open their eyes to how they treat customers though. Our campsite neighbors said the exact same thing when we were sitting around the campfire one night so this is not just a one off bad experience by us. We won't be back, too many other nice campgrounds in the state with much friendlier staff. But if you have kids and are prepared for everything described above this may be a good place to visit ... once
This is a party campground. We stayed a few nights including a weekend so we expected a bit of noise, but it was a VERY noisy campground with loud music after midnight, golf cart parades, lots of kids and generally a party atmosphere. I guess that's kinda expected near Wisconsin Dells, but it's actually not right next door to town. It's a pretty decent drive to the highway and about 20 minute drive into town. $44 weekday nights, $50 weekend nights for a full hookup site. Cell signal (both AT&T and Verizon) were both pretty weak. Good enough to do emails and some basic work, but don't plan on streaming. Our site #77 was buried in the trees which was nice because we stayed through a heat wave. It was near the front so easy in/out access. The amenities are all older but everything is still nice. Mini golf, basketball court, giant jumping pillow, dunk tank, swimming pond with inflatable trampoline, and the shower house was good enough to rinse off the kids when they were dirty with sand.
This was a great place to stay. Close to Walmart which was very helpful . If I would have known that wouldn't have brought a lot of stuff I didn't need to travel with. The park and workers were amazing so friendly. And. SOOOO many things to go. And actives galore . It was busy but quiet. So relaxing. Thank you for the wonderful time. Will definitely come back and try another cabin. Loved it. And they have a kinda restaurant with pizza chicken wings fries. Things like that at a great price. And a store with things if you need something also... very satisfied..
I've been taking my kids to this campground for almost 10 years...it's about 15 minutes outside of the dells. It was such a good campground in the past but the maintenance and the service had really gone down hill. We found a leech in the lake as well on this trip. They had the bathrooms closed to sanitize the floors for 2 hours from 9pm to 11pm on their busiest weekend but then the toilet paper and soap dispensers didn't get restocked. The smoke detector in our cabin was dead and the air conditioner froze up after being on for just an hour. My family came with this summer and we had 4 cabins between us but they will never visit again because of their experience this last weekend. It was such a nice place.
