Bistineau Lake RV Resort Cabins & Camping About

For those of us in Louisiana who cherish outdoor adventures, particularly fishing, boating, or simply unwinding by the water, finding the perfect lakeside retreat is always a priority. Bistineau Lake RV Resort Cabins & Camping in Elm Grove offers a unique and authentic experience that truly connects you with the natural beauty of Lake Bistineau. This is a place where the charm of a remote setting meets the convenience of RV and cabin accommodations, all managed by owners renowned for their genuine kindness and hospitality.

Bistineau Lake RV Resort is more than just a place to park your RV or rent a cabin; it's a destination designed for those who appreciate the simpler pleasures of a Louisiana lakeside escape. While it might not boast the extensive amenities of a sprawling, high-end resort in a major city, its strength lies in its tranquil environment, beautiful lake views, and its direct access to fantastic outdoor activities. As one long-term guest noted, "It's a good stop on the map when you plan a fishing trip, quad excursion, or simple get away."

During the "lake months," when the spillway gates are closed, the views of the lake are simply stunning, and the fishing is, by all accounts, "fantastic!" Even in the "off-season," when the lake bed might reveal itself, there's a unique appeal, with "quads sometimes show up" for adventurous rides – a "pretty cool use for a lake bed," as one reviewer put it. This adaptability makes the resort appealing across different seasons and for varied interests.

What truly stands out, however, is the personal touch. Visitors consistently highlight the owners' exceptional kindness and accommodating nature, even for late arrivals without reservations. This level of hospitality, coupled with the peaceful seclusion and the surprisingly delicious water, makes Bistineau Lake RV Resort a recommended spot for anyone seeking a genuine, cozy, and friendly Louisiana experience by the lake.

Location and Accessibility

Bistineau Lake RV Resort Cabins & Camping is situated at 315 Lakeview Cir, Elm Grove, LA 71051, USA. This address places it directly on the picturesque shores of Lake Bistineau, offering prime access to one of North Louisiana's notable recreational lakes.

Elm Grove itself is a small, unincorporated community in Bossier Parish, known for its rural charm and proximity to the lake. While the resort offers a secluded feeling, it's not entirely cut off. It's accessible via local roads that connect to larger state highways, eventually leading to major interstates like I-20. This allows for a balance of remote tranquility and reasonable connectivity to nearby towns.

For extensive amenities, shopping, and dining, the larger city of Bossier City and its twin city, Shreveport, are within a convenient driving distance. These urban centers offer everything from major grocery stores and retail outlets to hospitals, entertainment venues, and a broader range of dining options. This means guests at Bistineau Lake RV Resort can enjoy the peace and quiet of the lakeside retreat while still having access to city conveniences when needed.

The location on Lakeview Circle specifically suggests that the park is oriented to maximize lake views and access, which is a major draw for visitors. The presence of a "Boat ramp on site" further enhances accessibility for those looking to enjoy the lake for fishing or boating activities. While phone and internet service can be spotty in this more remote area, this is often a trade-off for the secluded beauty and peaceful ambiance that the location provides.

Services Offered

Bistineau Lake RV Resort Cabins & Camping focuses on providing essential services for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, catering to both RVers and cabin guests. While it's not a high-amenity resort, its core offerings are well-received:

  • RV Spots with Full Hookups: The RV sites are equipped to provide everything needed for a comfortable stay, which typically implies full hookups including water, electricity (likely 30/50 amp), and sewer connections for hassle-free living.
  • Cabin Rentals: In addition to RV sites, the resort offers "a couple cabins" for rent. These cabins are described as "perfectly cozy," providing a comfortable alternative for those without an RV or who prefer a more traditional lodging experience.
  • On-site Boat Ramp: A significant service for lake enthusiasts, the "Boat ramp on site" allows for convenient launching and retrieval of boats, making it easy to access Lake Bistineau for fishing, boating, or other water activities.
  • Wi-Fi Availability: The resort offers Wi-Fi, though its availability can be "hit and miss." While acknowledging potential service inconsistencies, the presence of Wi-Fi is a valuable service for those needing to connect.
  • Potable Water (Exceptional Quality): A highlight mentioned by a reviewer is the "delicious" and "so good" water, indicating a high quality of potable water available on site. This is a unique and appreciated amenity.
  • Covered Pad for Gatherings: There appears to be a "lakeside covered pad that I'm guessing could be for cook outs and gatherings." While guests would need to confirm its availability and use, this suggests a communal space for social events.

It's important to note the expectation set by a reviewer: "Don't expect Dallas, TX amenities like a fitness center and spa... or even groceries in a reasonable range." The services provided are geared towards outdoor enjoyment and basic comfort in a natural setting.

These features combine to create a welcoming, naturally beautiful, and activity-rich environment, emphasizing the resort's charm and the quality of its hospitality.

During the lake months, when the spillway gates are closed, the view is nice and I hear the fishing is fantastic! In the off-season(?) the quads sometimes show up. Pretty cool use for a lake bed if you ask me. And you can still cross the bridge and launch a boat there in the remaining lake [channel?] But I couldn't quote you their fees. Boat ramp on site. Oh, and there are a couple cabins I've never seen inside. Has Wi-Fi... currently... at the time of this edit. Internet availability has been hit and miss since I've been here; sometimes no signal (somewhat understandable), sometimes no service. And phone service is terrible. (I have both AT&T and Verizon. AT&T beats Verizon here but typically neither are capable. I added a Verizon booster and now that phone is no longer COMPLETELY useless here but still close.) The slips are pretty close, many have said. Don't expect Dallas, TX amenities like a fitness center and spa... or even groceries in a reasonable range. It's a good stop on the map when you plan a fishing trip, quad excursion, or simple get away. Thinking about it, there is a lakeside covered pad that I'm guessing could be for cook outs and gatherings, but you'd have to ask on that. Just so you know what to expect, if you thing my review is in some way negative, ask yourself why the author stayed all these years.

First off, I have to say that the owners are extremely kind. We showed up late without a reservation, and they were more than accommodating. The area has an excellent view, and is well secluded. The water is delicious. Seriously, load up on this stuff because it is so good! The cabin we used was perfectly cozy. Couldn't have asked for me. If you were my friend, I would recommend you to stay here. [don't worry, the RV spots provide everything you need as well]. Thanks for the stay, and hospitality.

This little campground offers 50/30amp service and sewer. Leveled cement pads. It has free wifi which I found to be excellent. I averaged 30mb down and 5mb up. The speeds were consistent over the weekend when it was more crowded. The sites are rather close to one another. VZ and ATT coverage were barely 1 bar. Without a cell booster it's dropped call central. Heads up on that. If you are traveling east or west on I-20, it's just a 30 mile dip off the highway for a one nighter or weekend. If you fish, there is a boat launch and very easy access to the lake. (at the bottom of the hill, barely 50 yards away). For the price of just $18/night, it's a winner in my book.

Very quiet and clean rv park. Management is always very helpful. Great place to put in a boat or just fish off the dock.
