Camelot RV Campground/RV Park About

For RV enthusiasts and travelers journeying through or exploring the beautiful Ozarks, finding a truly welcoming and well-maintained place to park your home-on-wheels is paramount. In Poplar Bluff, MO, Camelot RV Campground stands out as a consistently highly-rated destination, earning accolades from long-term residents and overnight guests alike. This isn't just an RV park; it’s a community where cleanliness, convenience, and genuine hospitality are clearly prioritized. If you're looking for a hassle-free stay with friendly faces and excellent facilities right off the interstate, Camelot RV Campground is your ideal choice in southeastern Missouri.

What truly sets Camelot RV Campground apart is its unwavering commitment to quality and guest satisfaction. Reviews consistently highlight the park's immaculate appearance, with staff striving to keep it "looking good and clean." The presence of dedicated camp hosts, available "anytime," ensures that assistance is always at hand, fostering a sense of security and support that is invaluable to travelers. Their proactive approach to maintenance, even manicuring gravel after a motorhome leaves in the rain, demonstrates a remarkable dedication to guest comfort and the overall appeal of the park.

Beyond the exceptional upkeep, the friendly and helpful nature of the staff is a recurring theme among satisfied campers. From being "very welcoming" to guiding guests directly to their "very flat and level" sites, the personal touch makes a significant difference. While they do maintain standards for RV appearance to ensure a quality environment for all residents, this is communicated transparently and helps maintain the park's high standards, benefiting everyone. Offering long pull-through sites, full hookups, and a mix of open, shady, and wooded areas, Camelot RV Campground provides a comfortable and convenient base for exploring Poplar Bluff and the surrounding Ozark region, making it a place many Missourians say they will "definitely be back" to.

Location and Accessibility

Camelot RV Campground is ideally located at 100 Camelot Dr, Poplar Bluff, MO 63901, USA. This address places it in a highly advantageous position for RV travelers, especially those traversing US Highway 67 and US Highway 60, as it is situated "right off the interstate" (referring to US 67, a major highway, not necessarily an interstate). This ensures "easy on and off" access, a crucial convenience for those making an overnight stop or using the park as a base to explore the region.

Poplar Bluff, known as the "Gateway to the Ozarks," serves as a significant regional hub in southeastern Missouri. This means Camelot RV Campground residents benefit from being just outside the city limits, offering a quiet, rural setting while maintaining immediate access to all necessary amenities. Within minutes, campers can reach grocery stores, gas stations, a variety of restaurants (with local food companies even delivering directly to sites), and other essential services. There are also hospitals, including a large VA Hospital, in town, providing peace of mind for longer stays.

The campground's proximity to major highways also makes it an excellent stop for those traveling between larger metropolitan areas such as Branson, MO, Nashville, TN, Little Rock, AR, and St. Louis, MO. Beyond urban conveniences, the location provides easy access to the stunning natural attractions of the Ozarks. The Mark Twain National Forest, with its hiking and biking trails, is just a mile away. Numerous springs, lakes, and rivers like Lake Wappapello, Clearwater Lake, Big Spring, and the Ozark National Scenic Riverways are all within a reasonable drive, offering opportunities for canoeing, fishing, swimming, and scenic drives. This blend of convenient accessibility and proximity to both urban amenities and outdoor recreation makes Camelot RV Campground exceptionally well-suited for all types of RVers in Missouri.

Its proximity to Poplar Bluff means "town is just down the road" for groceries, dining, and other amenities, providing both peaceful camping and urban convenience.
  • Long, Level Pull-Through Sites: A major plus for RVers, the "long pull through gravel sites are very flat and level," accommodating large motorhomes and tow vehicles without the need to unhook. This ease of setup is highly valued.
  • Abundant Shade Trees: Many sites feature "large mature shade trees," offering natural cooling and a pleasant aesthetic, especially during warmer Missouri months.
  • Full Utility Hookups & Connectivity: All 76 sites offer full hookups (30/50 amp electric, water, sewer), free cable TV with 61 channels, and free WiFi throughout the park. This comprehensive connectivity and utility access enhance comfort and convenience.

  • Strictly RV-Focused & Well-Regulated: The park maintains high standards for RV appearance (e.g., "if you call with an older travel trailer they may want to see it") and strictly prohibits ground tents, school buses, or storage units. This focus helps maintain a consistent, high-quality RV environment, which many seasoned RVers appreciate as "campgrounds with lots of rules are the best ones." Enforced rules contribute to a "very homey and pleasant" atmosphere.
  • Pet-Friendly (with restrictions): Pets are welcomed, which is a key feature for many travelers, provided owners adhere to leash rules, pick up after pets, and respect breed restrictions, ensuring a harmonious environment for all.
  • Open Year-Round: The campground operates all year, making it a reliable option for travelers regardless of the season.

Promotions or Special Offers

Camelot RV Campground is known for offering various promotions and discounts, making it an attractive option for RV travelers in Missouri. They clearly communicate their pricing and discount structure, which is a significant highlight:

  • Daily Rate Discount: They offer a "20% discount off the regular daily rate of $56.00," meaning most guests pay $45.00 for two or fewer people. There's a $2.00 charge for each additional person aged 5 or older.
  • Weekly Stay Discount: For those staying longer, they offer a "Weekly rates cash: (two) or less people: $225.00," which effectively means the "6th and 7th day is free." This is a great incentive for extended visits.
  • Monthly Extended Stays: For longer-term needs, they offer monthly consecutive extended stays at $480.00 for two or fewer people, providing significant savings for long-term residents or those working in the area.
  • Membership Discounts: Camelot RV Campground is a Passport America and Good Sam affiliated park, which often translates to additional discounts for members of these organizations. It's always wise to inquire about these if you hold such memberships.
  • Special Event Accommodation: While not a discount, their willingness to accommodate last-minute, unexpected overflow from other events (as seen in reviews) demonstrates a flexibility that can be invaluable, sometimes leading to preferred rates or arrangements during such times.

It's important to note their payment policy: "Cash or credit card only" for short stays (under 3 nights), but "Three-nights or more cash. Weekly and Monthly rate – is Cash only." This is a key detail for planning your payment method. While older information mentioned "Cash, personal check or traveler check" and "No credit or debit cards," newer information indicates cash or credit for shorter stays, and cash for longer ones. Always confirm current payment methods when booking.

Great RV park where they strive to keep it looking good and clean! We stayed here about 3 weeks and they were very welcoming and helpful. There were 2 sets of camp hosts that were available anytime. No issues while we were here. If you call with an older travel trailer they may want to see it bc they do have standards they live by, so don’t be offended. Ask about weekly if they don’t have any monthly available.

The owners were helpful and friendly. He guided us to our site and helped with parking. Very clean laundry with new machines but small. Close to highway so it was a little noisy but easy to get to. Would be nice to have bigger sites but that's how most camp sites are. Conveniently located for getting gas and groceries. Restaurants and Walking trails near by. Stayed 4 nights and would stay again.
