This is one of the previous Corps of Engineers campgrounds that was turned over to Bartow county. I was not pleased with the county for several reasons. First of all their reservations website is pitiful. When I called them it took a couple tries before I got somebody who was helpful and made reservations on the phone. Their check out time is 11:00 a.m. and check in time is 3:00 p.m.. presumably four hours to clean the sites between campers, but the two days I was there nobody cleaned anything. When we got to our campsite the fire pit was full of trash. In the site next to us, which is the one my friend was supposed to come in and rent the next day, there was a pile of bacon grease on the table. When I told the attendant that my friend was coming, when we checked in she "graciously" told me she would let her in at 1:30. She got there at noon, and the lady would not let her in. There was hardly anybody there nor any reason for this. She would not let her even Park the rig in the campground until 1:30 but directed us to a boat ramp on the other side of the bridge. So we went over there and it was also a campground run by the same people. We had to go in through the campground gate to get to the boat ramp. We told the guy our situation and he said he would have let her into his campground at noon. Finally, the bathrooms were dirty, from what I could see. There were no lights in the shower part, although what I could see looked dirty. I had to shower by the ambient light that came in through the bathroom part of the bath house, and it was pretty dark. The sites are very small and many are very unlevel. The one with the bacon grease had tree roots breaking up the asphalt creating large mounds. All In all, I do not recommend.

Beautiful scenic park located in Acworth, GA . Right on Lake Altoona our site was right across from the beach . The reason I gave it a 4 star rather than a 5 was there was no individual waste receptacles. Just a dump station . No street lamps but that was ok . The park was clean , the staff was friendly and very courteous . Looking forward to our next journey Southeast .

We came during the off season, but it's very quiet. Every one is friendly. Bathrooms are heated, have hot water, and are clean. Excellent campsites. It's small but very nice. There is a little road noise, but it's not bad at all. We are going to come back
