This was a very wonderful experience. The entire island was wonderful! Food, stores, trails, beaches, bike path, and art. We found an purchased unique pieces of art. So lovely. The aquarium all of it! Our family enjoyed it very much. Couldn't have been any friendlier either very nice folks here. Good campground, good people, and good memories to hold. Only problem we have....is... We have to leave boo...nay ..nag. lol. Can't wait to come back.
Walk to the beach. Full hook ups. Seasonal rates. Fish cleaning station, bring a boat. The location is fantastic. The park is well maintained. There's a small shop for snacks and basic items plus souvenirs. The daily rate was $51.
I’m from Louisiana. We have a lot of wonderful campgrounds. So for me to give Dauphin Island Campground a five star, indicates that it’s remarkable. Pros- friendly staff, Donna, Nicole and Chasity. Walking distance to a private campground beach (pets allowed)! Bird Sanctuary, Historic Fort, and Aquarium all in walking distance. No fee to visit the Fort or Bird Sanctuary. Lots of trees, shade. Birds of blue, yellow, black, and red all in the campground. All birds are well fed by the campers. There are more birds at the campground than at the Sanctuary. Lots of colorful, beautiful beach houses. Peaceful. Friendly Alabama and Colorado neighbors. Southern Hospitality is the best. We ate at Pirate’s Pizza. Really good pizza! We went the week of Easter. The campground was full. But we didn’t see a large amount of people moving around. Cons: Water pressure was low. But doable.
We were there in October of 2022 and will be back for may and some of June and I absolutely can't wait. I have not one negative thing to say about this lovely campground. The office staff is extremely sweet and helpful. The bathrooms were always clean and such a great convenience. The location is great . I absolutely love the path to the beach and most of all the family feel. The sites/lots are a great size as well and the prices are affordable. They make it to where you can still be abel to go and enjoy a vacation as we all know it's hard these days. I highly recommend this campground. ❤️❤️❤️
Our group enjoyed tent camping here. I wish I had known: There are no cooking grates over the “fire pits.” There is a brick charcoal grill and another small charcoal grill you can use at the pavilion. The mosquitoes are terrible! Definitely don’t forget bug spray. 10 minute walk to the beach from our tent. Be careful with your water spigot if it is pvc pipe. One busted and shot a fountain of water 20 feet in the air and all over one of the camp sites until the host made it over to turn it off. The host said this has happened before. All camping gear was soaked. We will stay here again for the easy beach, Audubon, and aquarium access.
