Forbes Landing RV Park in Topeka aims to provide just that. Situated strategically to offer ease of access to the capital city's amenities, this RV park presents itself as a practical solution for both short-term visitors and those seeking a longer-term base in the Topeka area. It's the kind of spot that emphasizes straightforward utility and a no-frills approach to RV camping, focusing on providing essential services in a manageable setting.

Forbes Landing RV Park is designed to cater to a diverse range of RVers, from those passing through on a cross-country journey to individuals needing a temporary residence for work or family visits in Topeka. The park's appeal often lies in its basic yet functional offerings and its accessible location, allowing campers to easily reach local dining, shopping, and entertainment options. While the park aims to offer a peaceful environment, it's important for potential visitors to manage expectations and understand that experiences can vary, as is common with many RV parks. However, for those seeking a convenient base with fundamental amenities in Topeka, Forbes Landing RV Park can be a viable option.

Forbes Landing RV Park is located at 5932 SW Topeka Blvd, Topeka, KS 66619, USA. This address places it strategically in Southwest Topeka, offering a blend of convenient access to city amenities and a relatively quiet environment for campers.

The park's location on SW Topeka Boulevard (US-75) means excellent accessibility from major transportation arteries. US-75 is a key north-south route through Topeka, connecting directly to Interstate 470 (I-470), which forms a loop around the city and provides easy connections to Interstate 70 (I-70), the primary east-west interstate across Kansas. This makes Forbes Landing RV Park particularly convenient for travelers arriving from any direction, allowing for a straightforward drive right to the park entrance.

The surrounding area offers a practical blend of conveniences for RVers. Within a reasonable driving distance, campers can access a variety of shopping centers, grocery stores, laundromats, and dining establishments, making it easy to stock up on supplies or enjoy a meal out. The proximity to Forbes Field, a former air base, means that visitors might occasionally hear planes overhead, which some find interesting, especially during events like air shows. Furthermore, the park's location provides relatively quick access to Topeka's main attractions, including the Kansas State Capitol, Gage Park (home to the Topeka Zoo and Kansas Children's Discovery Center), and various museums and cultural sites. This balance of a quiet resting place with urban accessibility is a key advantage of Forbes Landing RV Park for locals and visitors alike.

Forbes Landing RV Park provides essential services and amenities designed to offer a comfortable and functional stay for RVers. While details on every specific service are not extensively publicized, the park aims to cover the fundamental needs of most campers.

  • RV Sites: The park offers a variety of RV sites. While specific numbers or types (e.g., pull-through vs. back-in) aren't always detailed publicly, it's implied they accommodate various RV sizes.
  • Full Hookups: It is standard for modern RV parks to provide full hookups, including electrical connections (likely 30-amp and 50-amp options), water, and sewer connections at each site for maximum convenience.
  • Clean Restrooms and Bathrooms: Customer reviews specifically highlight that the "Bathrooms were nice and clean and kept up." This indicates a commitment to maintaining hygienic and functional communal facilities for guests.
  • On-site Laundry: Many RV parks, particularly those catering to longer stays, offer laundry facilities. While not explicitly confirmed, this is a common expectation in parks aiming for convenience.
  • Quiet Environment: The park is described as "nice and quiet to stay at," suggesting a peaceful atmosphere conducive to rest and relaxation.
  • On-site Management: The presence of a "camp host" or "park manager" (Joyce, as mentioned in reviews) indicates on-site oversight and assistance for guests, although responsiveness can vary.
  • Pet-Friendly Policy: While not explicitly stated, most RV parks welcome pets, often with leash requirements and a polite expectation for owners to clean up after their animals.
  • Convenient Location: As a service in itself, the park's location provides easy access to necessary off-site amenities like laundry facilities, dining, and shopping.

Forbes Landing RV Park offers several key features and highlights that contribute to its appeal as a practical and convenient RV destination in Topeka, Kansas.

  • Strategic Location: One of the foremost highlights is its excellent location. Situated on SW Topeka Boulevard, it provides easy access to major highways (US-75, I-470, I-70) and is close to essential services like laundromats, dining, and shopping, making it a highly convenient base for exploring Topeka or for a quick stopover.
  • Quiet Atmosphere: Despite its accessibility, the park is consistently described as "nice and quiet." This peaceful environment is ideal for relaxation and a good night's sleep, away from the immediate hustle and bustle of city traffic.

Based on available public information, Forbes Landing RV Park does not explicitly advertise specific "Promotions or Special Offers" in the traditional sense, such as seasonal discounts or loyalty programs. Many smaller to mid-sized RV parks tend to operate with consistent daily, weekly, or monthly rates.

However, the park's offerings might inherently include some benefits for budget-conscious travelers:

  • Competitive Pricing: While specific rates are not provided in the public reviews, one review does mention "the rent was cheap." This suggests that the park may offer competitive pricing, which serves as a de facto promotion for those seeking an economical RV stay in the Topeka area.
  • Flexible Stay Lengths: The park accommodates various stay durations, from overnight to longer-term, as evidenced by a review from a guest who stayed for several months. Offering weekly or monthly rates (which are typically lower per night than daily rates) is a common practice that acts as a promotion for extended visits. It is highly recommended to inquire directly about these different rate structures.

To get the most accurate and current information on specific rates, availability, and any potential unadvertised promotions, it is always best for prospective guests to contact Forbes Landing RV Park directly. Inquiring about any long-term stay discounts or special arrangements for extended periods would be a good strategy.

We really enjoyed our stay at Forbes Landing RV park. The camp host Joyce was very polite accommodating. I enjoyed it when we got to visit a couple times as it helped in getting to know her. ❤️Bathrooms were nice and clean and kept up. The park was nice and quiet to stay at. Sometimes you could hear planes flying over from Forbes air base, but we enjoyed that part to. Especially during the air show. We loved the convenience of the park being in a good location for laundry, dining and shopping needs and for family visits. I definitely recommend staying at Forbes Landing RV Park for your future camping trip. Thank you.

***If you are a lone female traveler, PLEASE do not accept spot #12. There is a man nearby that made my first few weeks incredibly uncomfortable to the point where I had to move.*** I stayed at this park from June/July to December. Joyce, the park manager, is not easy to get a hold of. I called a couple of times before my stay and my calls went to voicemail. When I was able to talk to her, I felt like my business wasn’t at all important as I was met with a prompt “no” on availability for a spot. During my stay, I noticed 5-10 open spots. A co-worker had to give me her spot vacancy and Joyce’s personal cell phone number to even get ahold of her properly. I was initially placed in a spot next to a lone trucker named Steve. He initially seemed friendly enough, but quickly got weird when I told him I was in Topeka by myself for work. All future interactions were extremely uncomfortable and unwanted. While changing my propane tanks he burst out of his camper and asked me if I knew where I was going with those. I tried to keep the conversation short but he would NOT let up. I couldn’t help but wonder how long he had been watching me inside his camper. In another instance, he ran behind my truck as I was trying to back up into my spot. As I was out one night, I got a call from Joyce- Steve “saw lights on and noticed a weird smell” coming from my camper. I have blackout curtains and there was no smell. His actions went beyond neighborly- they were threatening and creepy. I honestly was too scared to go back to the camper that night. When contacted about me moving spots the next day, she responded that he was “pretty harmless” and that she’d just put another female there next to him (see text below). I was told I would be followed up with regarding his behavior, and never was. I was so desperate to get away from Steve, I blindly chose the furthest spot out of his view, but I ended up next to a severely dilapidated trailer. This RV was literally held together with duct tape. The open sewer lines lead to a summer full flies, cockroaches, and other bugs. I spent a significant amount of money on UV lights and chemicals. My pump was broken, so I couldn’t winterize it, but left my rig to a drip when I was gone for a few days in December. When I returned, I found a sticky note on my door saying that since the water was leaking at my ground pump, it had been turned down. My basement and tanks were partially frozen. My husband and I had washed my slide out in preparation to pack up and I had left scissors on the truck tailgate. Later that night, my husband said he found them by the dumpster. Neither of us went to the dumpster before that. When packing up the RV, Joyce stopped by to give me my final receipt, expressing that she “wish she knew” how awful my stay was. I didn’t report anything further after the Steve incident because it became obvious that she doesn’t care, is clearly incompetent, and doesn’t have any interest in doing her job. Miscellaneous: neighbors dumping beer cans and trash on my site, people letting their dogs poop at my stairs. 2 stars instead of 1 because the rent was cheap, but “If you buy on price, you pay for it twice”. Don’t be fooled by these recent 5 star reviews- I believe they’re being bought. They had 3.0 stars when I initially moved in. I agree with campers having a great experience staying one night, but as someone who stayed there for 5-6 months, there wasn’t that much overnight traffic.

Absolutely unreachable and unavailable. Not even sure they’re in business except that their VM states the name of the park. Prior to that we sent emails through their website. I left two voicemails on Monday 4/14. Left the information they requested and waited. Never heard back. Called back on Wednesday 4/16 and STILL no one answers the phone and it goes to VM. No one is so busy as to blow off customers for more than ten days with the email contact and then reaching out by phone. I guess they don’t need our money

Nice little pull in RV park but some of the neighbors were very loud banging on stuff at 2-4 in the morning not to mention screaming coming from one of the back lots in a Winnebago..

A wonderful place to stay for an overnight if 'traveling-through' or for a couple of nights while taking in the local attractions. The hostess, Joyce, was very responsive while making reservations, helpful upon arrival, and engaged with our future needs/situations. We highly recommend Forbes Landing RV Park.
