Whether you’re a seasoned camper or planning a family weekend getaway, the campground provides a blend of natural beauty and essential amenities. It’s a wonderful spot to pitch a tent or park your rig and immerse yourself in the rich second-growth forest, which is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including white-tailed deer and a multitude of bird species—the park is even designated an Important Bird Area by the National Audubon Society. *Note on site experience: While the park strives for excellence, individual site experiences can vary. Specific sites, like the one mentioned in a customer review, may have unique spatial layouts (e.g., site #2's setup) that are more functional for parking than extended outdoor lounging. It is always wise to check site details and maps when reserving to ensure the best fit for your equipment and camping style. Additionally, park regulations, including quiet hours (9:00 PM to 8:00 AM) and visitor guidelines, are strictly enforced to ensure a peaceful experience for all campers.

Loop A - site 2. Great campground, beautiful surroundings, and many full hook-up sites. But, do not stay at site #2 unless you are just looking for a parking space for your camper. There is no room for the picnic table. Someone placed it at the end of the parking pad, right next to site 55's sewer hook up. The fire pit is very close to the road. There is an electric box and 2 yellow poles on the site. No where to relax except in your camper. No grass just mud and dirt . There are 2 lakes for fishing and canoeing, but no swimming in them. They have a giant pool available for use with a $13 charge to enter.
Jul 12, 2024 · Laura BegianThe cops are just looking for a reason to harass you. At 2100 hrs 4 of them walked through the loops harassing campers if they could hear them talking. NOBODY was loud. The sound carries in the park and that’s how they come into your site looking for anything to get you on. The more tickets they give, the more money the state makes.
Mar 23, 2025 · Edward RachinskasI'll start by saying we were at the campground less than 10 hours - arriving well after dark and leaving before the sun came up. Loop A, Site 13 It served our needs as a place to park with a shower and a bathroom right across from our site (though the bathroom was somewhat messy and in need of cleaning). No trouble getting in or out.
Jul 13, 2025 · Sara ElliottThis is the way to do local group tent camping. Spread about far enough that we can enjoy nature but close enough to meet people and be close to home. Thank you God for such an awesome weekend.
Jul 28, 2025 · Kent NeimanMid Oct 2020. Loop D site # 4. We camp at French Creek once or twice a year. It's a great family campground. Loop D is the only loop with no electric hook ups, so overall it is mainly tents. This time we stayed at site 4. I would say it competes with 6 for the best site in the campground. It is big, flat, and has plenty of room for more than one tent, along with trees for tarp and string light hanging. It is nice to walk or bike thru the 4 loops, and of course the hiking at French Creek is abundant. We went in a new direction this time, to a new boulder peak and it was a very nice hike. There was unusually little park ranger drive-by activity this trip, generally you see them a number of times throughout the day and evening. We did have our first encounter with a raccoon visitor at nite which was a good reminder to store our food in the car which we have gotten last about. We have never had trouble or a bad time at FCSP and will be back soon.
