Frog Creek Campground About
For Floridians seeking a campground that combines genuine hospitality with remarkable affordability, Frog Creek Campground in Palmetto, Florida, consistently earns high marks. This isn't just a place to park your RV or pitch a tent; it's a community where the staff goes "above and beyond" to make guests feel "wonderful, kind, and welcoming." In a state known for its diverse camping options, Frog Creek stands out for its human touch and commitment to guest comfort, making it a compelling choice for both short visits and extended stays.
Imagine finding a campsite where the team is so accommodating that they even offer to move you to a "shady spot" during the summer months, proactively thinking about your comfort. This level of attentiveness is what sets Frog Creek apart, fostering an environment where guests feel truly valued. As one long-term guest, a travel nurse, enthusiastically shared, "To say they are accommodating is an understatement, they have gone above and beyond to help us and make us comfortable during our time here." This sentiment underscores a core principle of the campground: prioritizing the well-being of its visitors.
However, it is important for prospective campers to be aware of all policies, including their deposit refund policy. While the positive experiences highlight exceptional service, a review regarding a non-refundable deposit due to a hurricane-related cancellation indicates a strict adherence to their terms. This article will provide a comprehensive and factual overview of Frog Creek Campground, covering its strategic location, the array of services it offers, its unique features and highlights, and essential contact information. Our aim is to help local Floridians make an informed decision when planning their next outdoor adventure or extended stay in the beautiful Manatee County area.
We'll explore what makes Frog Creek a highly recommended and "VERY affordable" option compared to other campgrounds in the region, helping you determine if it's the perfect fit for your next Florida camping experience.
Frog Creek Campground is conveniently located at 8515 Bayshore Rd, Palmetto, FL 34221, USA. This address places it in Manatee County, a desirable area on Florida's Gulf Coast, known for its beautiful waterways, vibrant communities, and easy access to both natural attractions and urban conveniences. Bayshore Road itself provides a direct route, making the campground easily accessible for campers and RVers traveling from various points within Florida.
Palmetto is nestled just north of Bradenton and across the Manatee River from the city of Palmetto, offering a strategic base for exploring the wider region. Its proximity to Interstate 75 (I-75) and US-41 ensures straightforward connectivity to major cities like Tampa and St. Petersburg to the north, and Sarasota to the south. This makes Frog Creek Campground an ideal stop for those embarking on a Florida road trip or for locals seeking a nearby getaway without extensive travel.
The surrounding area provides ample opportunities for recreation and daily necessities. Campers can enjoy access to the waters of Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, with numerous boat ramps, fishing spots, and public beaches within a reasonable driving distance. Palmetto itself offers a range of services, including grocery stores, dining options, and local attractions. Based on the provided customer reviews, Frog Creek Campground's primary "promotion" is its inherent affordability. It is consistently highlighted as being "VERY affordable compared to other campsites in the area." This competitive pricing acts as an ongoing benefit for campers, making it an attractive option for those seeking value in their Florida camping experience, whether for a short vacation or an extended stay.
While specific, time-limited discounts or seasonal specials are not explicitly mentioned in the reviews, campgrounds often have tiered pricing structures, with lower rates for longer commitments (e.g., weekly or monthly rates being more economical than daily rates). Given that the campground accommodates and is highly rated by long-term guests, it is very likely that such favorable extended-stay rates are part of their standard offerings.
It is important to note the policy regarding deposits, as one review explicitly states that deposits are "nonrefundable but we could have a future credit." This is a key piece of information for planning your stay.
For the most current information on specific rates, any potential long-term discounts, or details on their cancellation and credit policies, it is highly recommended to contact Frog Creek Campground directly. Their "wonderful, kind, and welcoming staff" will be able to provide all the necessary details to plan your visit.

Customer Reviews
I am a travel RN from Florida, came down here to work for 13 weeks. I cant not begin to express enough how wonderful, kind, and welcoming the staff at Frog Creek are. Everyone we have encountered here has been beyond helpful. They even offered to let us move campsites to a shady spot since we were going to be down here for an extended time during summer months. To say they are accommodating is an understatement, they have gone above and beyond to help us and make us comfortable during our time here. So much so I hope to be able to extend my job here to stay longer. One of the best campgrounds I've found in this area and on top of everything they are VERY affordable compared to other campsites in the area.
We paid a $50 deposit towards a five night stay starting October 10, 2024 to attend an RV rally. Hurricane Milton was headed to hit the Bradenton area so the organizers cancelled the rally. We called Frog Creek to cancel our reservation and requested a refund to our credit card; but we were informed that our deposit was nonrefundable but we could have a future credit. My husband who is 82 explained that we probably will be selling our RV before the next rally and again requested a refund but told NO once again. Mother Nature caused the rally to be cancelled and we feel our deposit should have been refunded. Thus the One Star rating
Our third or fourth stay. Always very friendly people and the campsites are great.
Won't return your deposit. No see- um mosquitoes we're terrible at evening! River may have a lot to do with it. No working with the property manager. No personality. Rent continues to climb! Can understand keeping my $250 deposit for holding spot for following year, but, the additional $1,100.00 could of been returned after them only having it about a week! I think office Debbie is pocketing the money. Won't let us talk to the owner.
What a hidden treasure... Great for seniors...has all the basics of what you need... adjust your unrealistic expectations. This is not Disney ...No they do not have a huge waterpark with slides and fountains. But they do have a small swimming pool which often you find you have all to yourself. Place is super clean...well maintained with wimsical touches like the concrete frog fishing. Bonus is the little kayak launch and available kayak rentals to paddle Frog Creek which leads you into a mangrove maze known as Terra Ceia Preserve and ultimitly to Tampa Bay. Yes you can fish here...and many places are not accessible by boat which keeps it all peaceful. Magnificent centuries old oak trees form a nice shaded canopy over the campgrounc
