Customer Reviews
Decent place to camp, but we likely won’t return. The obstacle course advertised is sitting on what looks and smells like stagnant water. It’s super cool, but there needs be a better functioning pump/fountain to keep that water moving. One of the three pools this weekend was green, and other guests that stay frequently confirmed this wasn’t a rare occurrence. The playground equipment is a bit outdated and very small. The water park is probably the best thing there, but be cautious, as there is no lifeguard on duty. We witnessed an incident this weekend in which a toddler was grabbed on the slides by another parent whom was unknown to the child because the toddler cut in line in front of his child. My suggestion to management would be to consider placing a staff member at the large slides platform to prevent issues, as what we witnessed was totally inappropriate on behalf of the adult in the situation. They also allow day passes to the park, which increases crowding. The activity center is a neat concept, but could be executed better. There was also some other water type activity that did not appear to be operating properly. All that said, the staff was friendly, and everyone we encountered was kind. Restrooms and front office were very clean and nice. There were just too many other concerns that we had to make it worth returning. There’s other places you can go with better amenities for the same cost. As stated by others, this place has a lot of potential, but it needs some work.
Super disappointed. 8 year olds railroading 3-4 year olds without supervision at the splash pad. Our four year old got kicked in the head while doing the slide. No life guard on duty or supervision from this place (I had to go to the front office and complain). We should feel comfortable letting a 4 year old play, but it is so unsafe. Also watched a drunk guy trip over a kid and fall into the water while the kid cried.. Half the pools weren't open (including the toddler pool), concession stand never opened, had to remind the staff that an activity was supposed to start, you have to stand in line for 30 min to order a pizza and then wait for 1.5 hrs for it to be ready. They also told us they had no napkins or paper plates. They said that truck had not arrived yet. Called the number and selected “talk to the GM.” No answer or call back. This place has great potential. It is just not maintained and severely understaffed.
We stayed at Great Escapes RV Resort in Perrin over Memorial Day weekend and were extremely disappointed with the experience. We drove nearly 2 hours to get there and spent over $700 for two sites, expecting a luxury RV resort—but it was far from it. First, the water pressure was almost non-existent—just a trickle when trying to wash dishes. I attempted to contact the after-hours line Friday night with no answer. On Saturday, I called the office and was told the park runs on a well system and when full, there’s little to no water pressure. I later found out this is a known issue during high-volume weekends—even the park staff filled their fresh water tanks ahead of time, knowing what would happen. This was never disclosed at the time of booking and absolutely should have been. To make matters worse, one of the pools and the kids’ splash pad were closed for maintenance. The two remaining pools were overcrowded and the water was so dirty you couldn’t even see through it. Not what you’d expect from a “luxury” RV resort. I went to the front office three times to speak with a manager, and each time I was told they weren’t available. I plan to reach out to the parent company directly. Sadly, I cannot recommend this resort and we will not be returning.
we’ve been coming for years and the kids always have enjoyed it.. but as others have stated management is bad, the water pressure is an big issue particularly if it’s busy.. they clearly don’t have the capacity for all the new spots they’ve added.. the “water park” is starting to fall apart and doesn’t look like they will fix it.. the pools are green and crappy looking ..
This is a great facility, perfect for our needs. We held our 2nd Marriage Retreat at GE. We had 23 couples attend our retreat and they all loved the facilities and the special touch in our rooms. Thank you for making this weekend amazing
