Location and Accessibility

Hermitage Campground is situated on Unnamed Road, Hermitage, MO 65668, USA, placing it directly within the scenic Pomme de Terre State Park. This location is a significant advantage for Missouri residents, offering a relatively accessible drive from many parts of the state. For those coming from Springfield, it’s a manageable distance for a weekend trip, and its central Missouri location makes it a viable option for campers traveling from various directions across the state.

The "Unnamed Road" designation for the address indicates its integration within a state park setting, emphasizing the natural, perhaps slightly secluded, feel while still being clearly identifiable and reachable via GPS. The proximity to Hermitage, Missouri, ensures that while you're immersed in nature, you're not entirely isolated from local towns where you might resupply or explore local eateries if desired.

The campground’s placement within Pomme de Terre State Park means direct access to the lake. This is a huge draw for anyone in Missouri who enjoys boating, fishing, kayaking, or simply enjoying the water. The ease of getting to and from the campground, even with larger RVs (as hinted by the presence of a dump station and RV traffic), makes it a practical choice for a diverse range of campers. For locals, this means less time spent on the road and more time spent enjoying the natural beauty of one of Missouri's beloved state parks.

Promotions or Special Offers

As a Missouri State Park campground, Hermitage Campground typically operates under the established pricing and reservation system of the Missouri State Parks. Specific, short-term promotional offers or discounts that are frequently advertised by private campgrounds are less common for state park facilities. However, there are inherent "special offers" and advantages to camping within the state park system that are worth noting for Missouri residents.

Firstly, the general pricing for state park campsites is often highly competitive and designed to be affordable, making quality outdoor experiences accessible to all Missourians. While there might not be a "buy one night, get one free" deal, the value offered for the amenities and the natural setting is consistently high.

It is always advisable to check the official Missouri State Parks website or call Hermitage Campground directly for the most up-to-date information on any available rates, senior discounts, or potential off-season pricing variations. Sometimes, state parks might have special events or programs that include camping packages, though these are less about monetary discounts and more about enhanced experiences. Additionally, purchasing a Missouri State Parks pass or membership could offer benefits across the park system, indirectly providing value for your stay at Hermitage Campground. For the most current and accurate information on any special offers, contacting the campground or checking the Missouri State Parks website is the best approach.

We visited in mid-march before spring really started. It is an honor system for your campground. Stop by the front office and grab an envelope. Drive around and pick your campsites and then fill out the envelope. Put some money or check in there and put it back in the Dropbox. The campground even in the ending of winter is still beautiful. It is wide and spacious with plenty of campsites and if you're lucky you can get campsites all along the lake for wonderful views.

Camped in loop3 which are tents only. No other campers in this section. Loop 1 and 2 were filled with rv's. Long line sunday morning to wash out their black tanks. Very pretty place. Great for kayaking

Excellent well-cared for grounds. Quiet. Spacious lots. Clean restrooms. Very attentative staff on the grounds. We found the trail very well maintained. It's a trail through the woods, so roots and rocks are expected. Saw a post complaining about that, but my husband and I are in our 60s and had no issues with completing the trail. It was well- marked, even at the beach area, so we never had to walk on the road.

Everyone was super helpful and loved having the delicious ice cream one night (this is Marina related so times vary, but on the same grounds). Beach was very awesome and a short drive down the road, boat ramp was nice with a courtesy dock. If only they could have held off the rain 🤣

Wonderful place for a weekend with the family.  The campsites were clean.  We had family ages 3 to 60.  We enjoyed swimming and picnicking at the beach, the playground, nature presentation for the kids, excellent fishing and boating.  We are already planning our next family camping trip.
