Kamptown RV Resort About

For Kentuckians seeking a relaxed and family-friendly retreat, the Kamptown RV Resort in Cadiz offers a unique blend of community spirit and outdoor recreation. While its name might spark different expectations for those accustomed to traditional "resorts" in other parts of the country, Kamptown RV Resort serves as a vibrant and well-maintained campground that truly embodies the essence of Southern Kentucky hospitality. It’s a place where many choose to settle in for extended periods, creating a close-knit atmosphere, but it also welcomes those looking for a shorter escape.

Camping in Kentucky is all about embracing the natural beauty of our state, and for many, that means finding a comfortable and convenient base to explore from. Kamptown RV Resort caters to this desire by providing essential amenities and a friendly environment that makes you feel right at home. Whether you're an experienced RVer or looking for a welcoming spot for your family, understanding what Kamptown RV Resort offers from a local Kentucky perspective is key to appreciating its unique charm and suitability for your next adventure.

The term "resort" here speaks more to the comprehensive facilities and the community-oriented lifestyle it fosters, rather than a typical high-end hotel resort. It's a place where you can unwind by the pool, try your hand at fishing, or join a friendly game of corn hole with neighbors. For those in Kentucky who value community, outdoor access, and a laid-back pace, Kamptown RV Resort provides a genuine and enjoyable experience that aligns with our state's spirit.

Location and Accessibility

Kamptown RV Resort is conveniently located at 4124 Rockcastle Rd, Cadiz, KY 42211, USA. This address places it squarely in Trigg County, a beautiful area of Western Kentucky known for its proximity to some of the state's most beloved recreational areas, including Lake Barkley and the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. Cadiz itself is a charming town that offers a relaxed atmosphere with local shops and dining.

While one review mentions "hilly, gravel roads" within the park, which might require careful navigation for larger rigs, the overall accessibility to the resort from major Kentucky roadways is generally good. Cadiz is situated near US-68 and I-24, making it relatively easy to reach from various parts of Kentucky. For those specifically seeking a large, perfectly level pad right off a major highway, other options like a nearby KOA might be considered, as noted by one traveler. However, for those who appreciate a more nestled, community feel that might be "a little off the beaten path," Kamptown RV Resort’s location offers a tranquil setting.

A significant highlight of Kamptown RV Resort's location is its close proximity to water access. The boat ramp is "less than a mile away," which is a huge advantage for Kentuckians who enjoy boating, fishing, and watersports on Lake Barkley. This easy access to one of Kentucky's premier lakes makes the resort a prime destination for water enthusiasts. For those looking to enjoy the natural beauty and recreational opportunities that Western Kentucky has to offer, Kamptown RV Resort's location serves as an excellent base.

Apparently, the word "Resort" has a different meaning in Kentucky than it does in the rest of the country. This is basically a mobile home park. Almost all are permanent residents. Hilly, gravel roads. Sites that we were told were level and large enough for our 42' fifth wheel were neither. Would NOT recommend. Two stars instead of one because the residents did seem to keep their sites clean and nicely decorated for Halloween. Other than that, if you're traveling, there's a nice KOA less than five miles from here: large, level pads and nice roads. That's where we landed.

This is a great campground. You have it all - pool, fish pond, boat dock, bath / laundry facility and more. The boat ramp is less than a mile away. They have a few overnight spots, you might call ahead to reserve. Very well maintained. Be sure to bring a golf cart to cruise around and talk to the neighbors. Very family oriented. You can usually find a corn hole game going or more. All the long term people are very friendly.

We used to own a place here. It was very short-lived. The owners are absolutely terrible with no regard to peoples money. They even named their brand new boat “raising rent” if that tells you anything.
